I'm sure Dell makes a great product. My experience with this one item was not great, however. Bought to replace my wife's very old Dell, which had been very good. But ... this one had 5-6 crashes within 5 days. I verified *all* the Dell and Windows updates were correct. I ran all Dell's diagnostics (both the quick 10-min and extended 40-min versions) ... all OK. Also worked with a Dell tech remotely, who also verified all updates and re-ran diagnostics again. Within 3 hrs, it crashed again!! I returned it, and got an HP ENVY x360 instead ... which, BTW, has been perfect. Sorry, I'm not trying to be a "hater" ... just telling you what happened to me, with this one unit. So glad Best Buy allowed the return, and could help with its replacement.

      Hello David,

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you are experiencing issue with the performance of your PC. We recommend limiting your start up programs and uninstalling any unwanted applications. I have provided steps how to do both below.

      Limit start up programs:
      1. Close all open windows.
      2. Press CTRL + Shift + ESC key together on the keyboard.
      3. In the Task Manager window, click Startup tab.
      4. Select the program or application that you want to disable from loading during startup.
      5. Right-click and select Disable.
      6. Repeat Step 4 & 5 for all the programs or applications that you want to disable from loading during startup.
      7. Restart your PC.

Uninstalling or removing software or applications that you do not use or do not need from your PC can help speed up your PC. Applications may include background processes, system services, context menu entries and other things that can slow down your PC. Uninstall applications you no longer need using Programs and Features (previously called Add/Remove Programs). Unnecessary applications occupy space on your hard disk drive. I have provided the steps on how to uninstall applications below.

      1. Press the Windows logo key + R on the keyboard.
      2. In the Run dialog box, type appwiz.cpl and press the Enter key.
      3. In the list, select a program and click Uninstall.

Highly disappointed. Known issue happened to my daughter’s laptop. Froze, screen went blank and would not come back on. A technician came out replaced the battery the computer came on briefly and died again. The technician said it needed to be sent out. Dell deemed the warranty void because of a scratch on it (happened months ago clearly not the source of the problem). Now after paying $400 for the part. The part is not available! So we’re still waiting for a warranty-less laptop. We’ve only had 6 months. Never again Dell! I take some blame, I should have purchased the Best Buy geek squad warranty, it’s always on point.

I have used Dell Laptops through my employers for decades with little or no issues. Recently (july) 2022) I had to purchase a personal laptop for business and found have had nothing but problems. Less than 6-months into my purchase I have had the Display replaced and now it needs a "Mother Board". I'm not a computor expert, however after a display and a mother board there's not alot left to a laptop. Extremely dissapointed in this brand and performance of the "Warranty" service as it it not consistant with many hic-ups in scheduling the work.

I had 6 really great hours (over 2 days) working on my new laptop. Everything was going well. Then, day 3, I open it up and nothing happens. Did some troubleshooting (per the Dell website) with no results. Called the Geek Squad and they walked me thru the same steps - no results. Per the recommendation of the Squad took it back to Best Buy where they checked it out & pronounced the mother board dead. At their recommendation I returned it. Highly disappointed with the laptop. Very grateful for Best Buy’s honest assessment and recommendation to return. I’m sure it was just a fluke. I’m researching other options and will go back when I find another suitable option.

This purchase was a disappointment. I experienced the screen freezing having to turn off and turn on computer again losing my work in progress. Failed a quiz from class because it was timed and had to turn off and turn on again. If I put in sleep mode it never came on had to turn off and turn on again rebooting all configurations each time. Only had browsing time of about 10-15 minutes before this kept happening. Only had the compute for two weeks barely used it, hadn’t even made my first payment yet. Returned to store and bought an HP since it would be in repair for 4 days or more according to the Geek Squad agent who did not want to diagnose computer because his shift was ending.

Worked great for about 3 months when it began to have blue error page come up with memory and PFN codes, it would immediately restart and all was fine for maybe a day or sometimes an hour. GEEK Squad would check it and all was good, after about 4 times, I was in the store to pick it up and the blue screen came up, I agreed to pay to have a new memory card installed, brought it home and the same thing. It was finally sent off and they replaced the mother board, brought home and the same thing. They finally agreed to replace it and I chose an HP envy instead of Dell!

Terrible, price was nice and overall it appears to be a nice laptop. Long story short, I stopped buying dells because their hinges and surrounding plastic always deteriorated, after years of staying away from dell, I finally decided to give them a chance, 6 days in and one of the hinges is already loose and I have to keep pushing it in. also, 3 times I closed the lid and assumed the laptop was put to sleep, put it in my backpack and after about a half hour I took it out of my back and it was burning up and had a restart error on screen. so for whatever reason sometimes it went to sleep and other times it didn't. returning ASAP.

I exchanged the first laptop thinking I had a defected one and still had the same problems -Maxx audio pro ruins sound if you use cinema audio for movies (dell support said it is audio hardware drive issue. I read online of others complaining about dell using cheap hardware for this thousand dollar laptop) -Constantly freezes when opening programs -Doesn't recognize updates on support assist so I have to update the same thing over 10x -loud fan/overheat -constant errors when using apps It has great features but I can't even use their cinema audio feature so will be going back to ASUS reliable and more affordable laptops with better specs.

      Dino,

Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear that your computer is locking up on you. We'd recommend the following steps to diagnose this issue:

      1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Preboot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
      2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below:
      a) Start the computer.
      b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
      c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter.
      d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access.
      e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete step 3 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing.
      3. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang. To check for malware on your system and to ensure that your computer is up to date on security software, visit Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2wWP1zI.

I bought this Dell 15.6 laptop after sending back a Dell 17in back to Dell after finding out that the speakers did not work. When I brought my Dell 15.6 in home and getting it setup I lifted off my lap and the screen turned blue and everything froze. After calling Dell and worked with their technicians for over a couple of hours, it was determined that the memory was defective. So I brought the Dell back to Best Buy for a refund. I than talked to a Best Buy salesmen and he mentioned that Dell is one of the most returned laptops I bought a Leveno and I love it

Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear about the system freezes that you're experiencing. We'd recommend the following tips to help diagnose the freezes:
