The Dell Inspiron 3891 Desktop with Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB Memory, and 1TB HDD is a good entry level PC, and a solid choice for word processing and business applications. It's budget friendly, with plenty of storage and RAM for running office applications and storing documents. It is also a fine choice for web surfing and social media. The PC comes securely packaged, and included in the box are a power cord, mechanical keyboard, optical mouse, quick start guide, and warranty pamphlet. Unboxing took just a few minutes. Setup was quick and easy. Simply plug the keyboard and mouse into two of the USB 2.0 ports, plug your monitor into the HDMI port, and plug the power cord into the back of the PC and wall outlet. Power everything on, and a guided windows setup program guides you through the process. I estimate that completing all the steps too 15-20 minutes, with the computer churning along in between steps enough that I had time to make a cup of coffee. The location in which I will use this PC doesn't have wired ethernet available, so I connected to my home WiFi. I have a 400 x 20 Mbps cable connection, and running a speed test revealed speeds in the range of 250 x 20 Mbps, which is as well as any other computer has performed on my network. While I was unable to test the wired ethernet, it is rated at 10/100/1000 Mbps, so it should perform well on any wired network. Connectivity is impressive, with 2 USB 2.0 Type A ports, 2 USB 3.2 Type A ports, an ethernet port, an HDMI port, and a 3.5 mm audio on the back panel, as well as 2 USB 2.0 Type A ports, 1 USB 3.2 Type A port, 1 USB 3.2 Type C (USB-C) port on the front for easy access. They've provided plenty of ports to take care of connecting all the necessary printers and accessories. Down the road, if you feel like you need to enhance the performance of the PC, the machine is upgradeable to 64 GB of RAM and includes an M2 port for adding a high-speed solid state drive. Of course, the hard disk can also be upgraded to provide more storage as well. Overall, this is a solid entry-level PC that should meet the needs of most home or small office users. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this machine to a friend with those needs.

To get acceptable speed, be prepared to replace the 1TB HDD with either SATA or M.2 SSD. RAM can be upgraded to 64GB. Overall: good value.

Good basic computer after a new drive

I've used this Dell Inspiron for a couple weeks. The tower is nicely sized and does not take up much space. The ports on the front have everything you will need to use which is very nice. Having the DVD drive is nice also. Out of the box the computer will test your patience. After booting up in a short period, it would take several seconds to register a mouse click or keyboard stroke. I thought it was still just loading things but didn't get better after several minutes. After testing and using the hardware it was clear the HDD most of the delay. Updating all the drivers and software helped to speed up a little but nothing got better until I upgraded to the SSD. This computer has an extra SATA port on the motherboard and an open NVMe port, and a PCIe x16, x1. I upgraded to a SATA SSD and it improved the response slightly. I put a NVMe drive in and the computer has no delay now in clicks or programs loading. Upgrading to a discrete graphics card is a little tough also because the power supply is only 260W so you really have to be careful in getting a card with low power usage. The processor is low on the Intel totem pole but is more than you'll need for almost any work. The included memory is enough for most uses and 8gb is 1 stick so you can easily increase RAM. Overall this is a good budget computer but know you'll need to spend at least another $50 to upgrade to an NVMe drive. It's not hard to install, my computer had the holding screw included. A base HDD drive should not be included as the main hard drive in any modern computer with better reasonably priced options.

I have no complaints. I guess this so I could work from home and have had no problems. Some of my coworkers who are running off of older computers are having a mountain of issues. This computer has a good processor, great speed, even better memory. I have been able to work without any issue since I bought this.

New computer and data transfer from old external discs was well done. The other applications I needed to install from previous purchases also went rather smoothly. Getting familiar with Windows 11 is (sometimes) a bit 'trying' but all-in-all I am satisfied with the new computer and system.

My last desktop gave me 15 years of great service. I needed a new one. The best deal was the Dell Inspiron. I was surprised with Windows 11 plus the features of this desktop, Tower, 1tb SSD, 8GB and a CD/DVD. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a feature laden great price PC.

Decided to replace my original 2004 Dell Dimension 4600 desktop now that I work at home more often. My 17 and 14 inch screen laptops aren't that comfortable for a long and busy workday plus no 10 key pad on the smaller one. Dell Inspiron 3891 has an Intel Core i3 processor, 8 GB RAM and 1 TB hard drive for file storage! Copied over my files and photos with plenty of room to spare. Already has Windows 11 Home 64 bit so you don't have to upgrade from Windows 10. Much lighter weight and a bit smaller case. 12.77 inches high, 6.06 inches wide, 11.54 inches deep.Even has a DVD+/-RW built in. Wired keyboard and mouse included the box. Multiple USB ports on the front (USB 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C, USB 3.2 Gen 1), headphone jack and SD card slot. Back side has HDMI, speaker port (no speakers but I plugged in the pair from my old 4600 to test, will pair with an extra Blutooth speaker later ), two USB 2.0, two USB 3.2 Gen 1, Gigabit ethernet port for a wired connection, and the power cord plug is near the bottom instead of at the top like my old desktop. Built-in WiFi and BlueTooth for easy connection to wireless devices. Hard disk drive is fairly quiet but not silent like SSD. I sat it on my actual desktop for easy access to front ports and to prevent kicking and getting hit with a vacuum cleaner under my desk. Intel HD Graphics 630 card provides excellent colors and clarity on my Dell monitor. Tried streaming a few shows and playback and quality were really good, better than a DVD. Minimal setup in pamphlet with 8 drawings of what to plug in where. Once Windows starts it walks you through the setup then you can use Dell Support Assist. Lots of preloaded apps that you can use or remove. This PC isn't for high speed use like gaming but works fine every day office or personal use.

Overall nice computer, much faster operating than my old one. Has some very nice features on it too but took some getting use to as thins are little different from the other one ad to be expected. Best Buy folks were a great help in the selection process too.

Purchased this after purchasing a Lenovo that wasn’t good enough for what we needed. It is pretty fast even though it’s only i3. Easily and quickly navigates multiple web based softwares that we use, office programs, and Dropbox. Would recommend.
