NOT WHAT I THOUGHT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love most Dell products. However, I really don't like this Desktop. I should have gotten the "All in One" because there are more features and this thing is not user friendly at all. Not convenient to use at all. I really don't like it.

Totally disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've restored this computer 3 times. Something is running in the background that slows it down. It's the worst computer I've ever owned. Dell said to take it back to Best Buy. Best Buy's policy is send it to Dell. The Intel Core i5 processor is slower than my old i3 processor in my HP computer with 12GB of RAM. Dell, what did you do? You used to be King of computers.

Very frustrating
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nor sure what is being called for here, but I suspect that because an upgraded version of MS Office was installed when files where transferred from my old to a new computer, I have had nothing but difficulties in searching email files for messages that I wanted to respond to or needed email address. Somehow. emails from 2015, etc, were downloaded such that my quota was filled (Time Warner Roadrunner?) , and new, (important?) emails were returned to sender. More details if desired. I now don't see how these comments are even going to be presented. (??)

Excellent PC for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Need for purchase - Needed to upgrade from a Lenovo T520 laptop (i5 with 16GB ram and SSD) for video editing and file conversions. Reason for purchasing - Specs were more than what I needed at a great price. I couldn't justify the heavy price tag for the i7 version. Memory is 1x8 and 1x4 filling the 2 available slots. Out of the box, the system was sluggish due to bloatware installed. This is true across the board preinstalled system, not just Dell. After checking it out, I wiped the drive and did a fresh install and upgraded to Win 10 Pro (for me, not an additional cost because I transfer the Pro license from my retired Lenovo to the Dell). The computer was night and day in performance after the clean install. With the Lenovo, it would take around 2 hours to convert a dvd. Dell dropped this down to around 20 minutes. I decided to take advantage of the m.2 slot and added a Crucial P1 NVMe 500GB SSD. Using the software provided with the SSD, I cloned the 1TB SATA drive to the SSD and made it the OS drive. The only thing slowing this system down now is the physical limitations of my network. System boots in about 30 seconds. DVD converstion now takes about 7 minutes for a 2.5 hour movie. All in all, out of the box is decent for light users. Fresh Install of Windows, great for multi tasking with multiple programs open. With addition of M.2 SSD, powerhouse.

A good mid-range desktop choice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned this system for several months now.. it has held up well. I upgraded the RAM to 16 gigabytes then added a Samsung 970 EVO 500 GB NVMe SSD in the provided m.2 slot to replace the factory mechanical hard disk. As backup, I added a SATA SSD, just one I had laying around, for an extra 250 GB. I don't use mechanical hard drives because I live near a railroad: vibration causes them to fail. As a home pc or a mid-range workstation, this system is very fast: the Passmark benchmark on this particular i5 is over 11,000, way faster than a Ryzen 5 on another new system (2400g), which is still respectable at around 9,000. These budget desktops are still way faster than expensive i7, i5 and Ryzen laptops, the Passmarks are often double that of pricey laptops. Buy this, add more RAM and an SSD boot drive and you'll have a system that runs better than many Apple products costing a couple thousand dollars.
