Ok
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn’t even have this 2 years and something went out. They couldn’t fix it. I’m thankful I always get protection so I just got a new computer without having to pay extra.

Great Desktop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This desktop has been great so far! I've only owned it for a month but it seems very responsive. I am coming over from a Mac so navigating Windows 10 has been a bit of a trick, but fairly easy. Beware of all the extra purchases like keyboard and mouse. I was under the impression they did not come with it, my surprise when I opened to find them in the box! They are wired, so if you are wanting a wireless or bluetooth option for a keyboard or mouse you will have to buy them separate. The keyboard and mouse have a great feel. Even though I wanted the i7 (for some reason they don't stock that many in store) I am satisfied with the i5. For your basic needs of schooling and surfing/streaming it keeps up. It also helps to have the 12 GB ram. This does come with A LOT of pre-installed software from Microsoft, so you aren't really getting a full TB hard drive. But it still works great!

Nothing but trouble
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worse desktop computer that I have had. Since time I purchased I get numerous blue screens of death. I will not buy another Dell.

Good solid PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaces a very old PC I built myself back in the days when you could save some money by doing so. Looking at parts prices I concluded that this is no longer the case, so I saved myself the trouble. While this is obviously not a gaming platform, it has been perfectly adequate for our needs. I write lesson plans, my wife writes legal briefs, and we surf the internet a lot. It does all those things quickly and painlessly. I was also glad it came with a minimum of Bloatware, all I really needed to get rid of was McAfee (I much prefer AVG). It's been a couple months without a hiccup.

Dell Inspiron Desktop FANTASTIC!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.(Bought 6/29/2018) This is the BEST computer I have ever owned! (And I've had a lot of computers.) It was great out of the box, but after I had it two years I upgraded the RAM from 12GB to 24GB and I also installed a 500GB SSD. I kept the 1TB HHD for storage and put the OS and all the programs & apps on the SSD. Three years and still going strong!!

Good but a little noisy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Dell and exchanged it for another one (same model) within a few days as I felt it was noisy. Sort of a high pitched hum. I felt the computer was fast and worked fine overall but because of the noise I thought maybe I just got one with a weird fan or something. New computer has the same issue, even more noisy! Can anyone else confirm this issue on theirs? Tech guys, it is the fan? I know Dell uses cheap parts for many PC's and I would be happy to just swap out the fan if that's what it is.

Posted .Hello JMAT,
Thanks for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about the fan noise that you're experiencing. We'd recommend updating the BIOS on your computer to see if this helps quiet the noise: An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer. You can also follow up with our Technical Support Team here - 1-800-624-9896.

Better Than Expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super product. Compact, throws out less heat than my previous 531 and extremely quiet. Only complaint is DVD/CD is pretty cheaply made compared to the 531.

DO NOT PURCHASE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've restored this computer 3 times. Something is running in the background that slows it down. It's the worst computer I've ever owned. Dell said to take it back to Best Buy. Best Buy's policy is send it to Dell. I purchase this Aug 5 and have nothing but issue after issue, have replaced the mother board, have spent at least 40 hours on the phone with Dell support, worked for two days, now will not reboot up again Gets tiring installing the OS and having to reinstall all the software and get data back all the time. This is with in house warranty which was an extra $500.00 never again will I purchase another Dell product. Too bad as Dell used to be a quality product

Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really unimpressed. For an i5 with 12 gigs of RAM, I thought this would be speedy. Not so much. Touchy power connection that if the tower was bumped would turn off the PC. Super slow internet speed either wireless or Ethernet of around 1mbps. This on a network consistently getting 400 mbps. This poor thing is headed back to the store
