I wanted to have a computer with Windows 7 and had a budget of $500 tops. The computer starts up quickly, can run lots of applications without bogging down, and it has the speed that has me zipping through programing tasks and on-line information for what I do, teach programming. I wish that it had an HDMI port so I could connect a larger monitor, but it does have a standard VGA.

I bought this laptop for my dad. He doesn't use computers all that often. He mostly uses the laptop to browse the internet and watch informational DIY videos on youtube. The laptop is easy to use and relatively fast.

This is my second of these exact computers. . This one was actually for my mother-in-law, as mine is still going strong a year later. Nothing fancy here, just a good, reliable laptop at a reasonable price.

While I'm not a Dell person, for the money this was a great deal. I purchased it for a veteran that helps other veterans. I was able to purchase it online and he was able to pick it up at the store within a couple of days. The great thing about this model is Windows 7. I utterly despise Windows 8 so this was great for my veteran friend.

I purchased to get a good laptop that would handle Windows7. It seems to be a good fit for this version of Windows. After one week, I have no regrets with this purchase.

Friends had bought refurbished with good success so we tried it. First laptop had black lines in the screen and sent it back. Tried once more and this one overheated and shut down while trying to get it set up. Returned as well. At least Best Buys return process works well but we will never buy refurbished again.

I like Dell and their support,one can usually fix most problems with Microsoft Fix-it or Dell . com.

Good value for an I-5, and looks are equivilant to brand new. Did not come with the users manual or set-up dialogue. Dell was good to send requested manuals as pdfs.

Arrived in two days an in flawless condition. No dents. No scratches. Screen perfect. For the price I'm amazed at what I got an i5 machine for. This was a Best Buy computer, not another vendor, and I would recommend it to anyone!

I debated between buying this unit or a new, low end package unit. I've typically had good luck with refurbished products and this was no exception. Only downside was it was advertised as having a built-in webcam which it did not. Not a deal killer for me, but after calling the Best Buy customer service #, I was offered a stand alone webcam or a gift card. If this laptop gives me a few years of service I'll be pleased.

I ordered one of these and noted in the specs that it was to have a DVD RW, which I needed. I received the unit and after investing a few hours in initializing and storing programs, I found out that it had a DVD ROM instead. Best Buy was not helpful in assisting me in getting the unit with a DVD RW as listed in their specs, so I returned it and bought elsewhere.

This was my first and probably last attempt at buying refurbished. It might have been a good laptop if I could have even gotten through the set up process without finding half a dozen non-functioning keys. When you're unable to use the letter "p", ")", "-", "_", and various other keys, it didn't take too long to decide I was taking it back.
