Have been using the monitor for over 6 months and it's performed flawlessly. The only negative thing I might say is that it's not height adjustable, but at this price point, there aren't a lot of monitors that are. And with a monitor stand, this isn't a big issue. More importantly, the color balance, the brightness, and the on/off time is all perfectly adequate and it's still going strong so far.

I searched around for a second monitor for my 27" late 2013 iMac and came across this monitor on sale at Best Buy. After reading some reviews around the net I decided to try it out. I really didn't want to spend $1000 on the Apple Cinema Display monitor which is already almost 3 years old and received bad ratings due to failures. Right out of the box the Dell closely matched the picture on the iMac. Colors are accurate and image quality is almost every bit as good as the iMac. A perfect match! You can also adjust the height of the Dell monitor so its sits right along side the iMac. The only thing I needed to do was make a few adjustments to the contrast, brightness and bring the red color down a bit. Note: In order to get the full resolution from this monitor, you will need a mini-display port to DVI port adapter. The monitor comes with a DVI cable. Basically plug the adapter into one of the open thunderbolt ports and you will be good to go. If you try to use HDMI, you will only get 1080p. Overall this monitor is a perfect alternative to the Apple Cinema Display. Much lower cost and excellent quality for the price.

First about BestBuy services. I purchased this product as "New" on the web site. When I picked it up the I was already suspicious of the shipping brown package box. Sure enough, opened the box at home and the product was a return with used cables and protective coating removed from the monitor stand. Decided to nevertheless give it a go....Major back light bleed through on the two bottom corners. Mentioned this to the store when I was picking up something else. Was told to simply apply the included return sticker to the box and UPS would come to pick it up. Of course , no return slip was included. Really annoyed. Now having to get the box to a store. About the monitor, be aware, no speaker- luckily I had some Bose 2 that work great with it. Image resolution is good and a good alternative to my other retina thunderbolt 27inch (I used it for office work a lot) Would have been happy if the display had gone through QC. Annoyed by having been sent a refurbished item. I am doing an exchange, hopefully will be luckier this time aorund.
