We bought this primarily as a work computer. It is fast and responsive. Super lightweight and easy to use. Due to it being lightweight, there is no internal dvd drive so we purchased that separately. It does seem to take a little longer for the battery to fully charge but it can hold a charge for the day, even with a lot of use.

My kid is off to college this fall and this is the laptop the school (UCSD) recommended. We have had Macs all along, but my son adapted to Windows quickly (as I have had to for work). The processor is fast and the convertible design works well. He was a little disappointed by the stylus functionality, but he is getting used to it's limitations. Overall, a great little laptop for school. It should last all four (?five) years.

We had to return this computer due to failure of the battery. Overall the computer is great. Best Buy took the return with virtually no hassle. One other point is that the key board is not very touch sensitive and sometimes requires hitting the keys harder than expected to actually register.

I don't know a lot about tech, but this computer is great. It has a touch screen which is nice, but a keyboard also, that you can fold underneath the computer to use like a tablet. I used it for an art tablet like this, and it actually worked really well. It also has enough computer juice to run my sound editing software (protools and anything else I can get my hands on) smoothly. Great screen resolution, great design, decent amenities for camera/speaker/etc. There is no built in dvd player, but that seems to be becoming a standard. The only thing I didn't like is that it's so thin, it requires an adapter to plug in USBs, but that's what the super skinny computers seem to be trending towards. If you need a solid computer and don't mind a bit of a smaller screen, this is a great computer for you.

This 2 in 1 touchscreen laptop is really lightweight and easy to use. I use a docking station when I'm doing intense work but can easily remove it when I'm ready to just do some surfing from the couch.

After reading several reviews and comparisons of similar laptops, I settled on the XPS 13 2-in-1. I haven't noticed an amazing difference between this computer and others, but I am not a computer guru by any means. I have not watched and videos or anything yet to test the screen in that regard. It works well for what I need it to do. Initially, there were issues with the computer not waking up after I closed the lid and I had to do a hard re-start. The screen would also "flicker," but after contacting Dell support, and doing some updates, I haven't noticed any further issues. I have to say, with all the "amazing" and "outstanding" reviews I read, I am not very impressed as of yet. But it works for my purposes.

My wife is switching from a Macbook Air to this Dell XPS tablet/laptop and was very impressed from the beginning on how light, yet solid if felt. She is a bit nervous with little experience on Windows10, but that is what her tech husband and daughters are for. The overall construction seems to be A+ and the performance--while yet to be really tested/abused--seems to be great also. A definite "must-buy".

    Great machine. Bad firmware/software. CABC?

The XPS 2-in-1 is a fantastic little (literally) piece of tech. Great design, form factor, and a super solid build. Unfortunately, we early adopters must act as beta testers, though I believe most can be resolved with firmware/software updates. First of all, CABC (Content Adaptive Brightness Control) needs to go. This is a lesson learned from prior XPS units and it shouldn't be an issue in a brand new one. An absolute shame. This machine would have 5 stars if it weren't for this. Not only does it adjust the brightness, it also adjusts the contrast, to the point where grays will turn pinkish in color. Dell, please fix this. I will decide what brightness I want and I'm aware that brighter == less battery life. This CABC "technology" should have never existed and users need an option to disable this as soon as possible. I have one other frustrating issue: the system is not sleeping properly sometimes when closed (even if no foreground apps are open)... I've had a couple of instances where I'd remove the system from my bag after a few hours and it was slightly warm, and upon waking it up I notice that a once 100% charged battery was curiously drained to about 60%. I hope to be able to re-review this system in the next couple of weeks and adjust my 2 star to a 5 star. I do believe these issues are software related and can be fixed by Dell. The hardware, form factor, build quality, design, and materials make me want to love this machine. They are top notch. Fix the firmware/software/driver issues and this machine is a total winner. Until then, a near fail.

It’s a good laptop and I’ve had it for 2 years now and the battery life depleted to 2 hours. I recently changed the battery though so I’m getting normal battery life again. The Ram maybe high but it doesn’t help the fact that the y series cpu still sucks. Web browsing is fine but if you start running task intensive programs, you will notice some slowing down.

Less Than 2 Months - CPU Failed

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I did indeed read that people were experiencing issues with their Dell XPS laptop, specifically having to do with CPU failures prior to me making my purchase. However, I went ahead and gave the Dell XPS the benefit of the doubt and decided to purchase it. I've had it less than 2 months and then, BOOM--it happened to me--nothing but a black screen and flashing white and amber lights! Absolute horrible and regretful purchase, along with the service of Geek Squad! My laptop was sent for service in Kentucky and returned with debris, scratches on the screen and a missing screw!?!? Not to mention, the back casing was not fully snapped back in, but the tech continued to put screws in? My goodness, someone provide this tech some darn feedback and proper training!! *This also happened to another laptop I purchased from Best Buy in the past! Best Buy or Horrible Buy+Service?
