As an engineering student, I need a computer capable of handling large programs. In addition, I needed something lightweight, fast, and powerful. This has all that built in one. In addition, I love the touch-screen and 2-in-1 tablet/laptop feature. Would definitely recommend for any new college students.

laptop for college

I bought this laptop for my son for college. The laptop was easy to setup and the speed of the laptop is far better than our older dell inspiron. We also bought a Wacom Bamboo ink pen to use for drawing and note taking, which is impressive. This is our first 2 in 1 laptop, so I worry about durability when constantly conveting the screen, but so far we have not had any issues

I went from a 17" screen laptop to this 13". At first I thought I would have problems adjusting, but I've had absolutely no regrets. I love the size and light weight of this 2 in 1.
I initially had a few issues with screens closing on me unexpectedly, but once I turned off the "hovering" option, turned off the mouse pad and installed a wireless mouse, I no longer had that issue.

Good Computer for Regular School Use

I really like the computer and the versatility of the laptop/ tablet function.
I find it a bit difficult to navigate when using it as a tablet, it is not very intuitive to open and close screens, programs, etc. It also lacks and easy on functionality when it is already open as a tablet, I have to flip it back to laptop and press the mousepad, and then flip it back.
It came with a USB A (regular old school USB) adapter which is nice, so I returned the one I bought with the purchase from Best Buy, however it is a bit annoying how dangly it is, I wish the adapter was smaller and right next to computer.
I find the mouse pad can be finicky and I have to hit it in just the right area to click the button, or I accidentally click other things.
Having said that, these things are all pretty minor and overall it is an excellent laptop.

Amazing computer, best available today, works amazing except the track pad is a little winky. After some adjustments and learning how to maneuver, works ok. Light, durable, functional.... all around amazing laptop for every day, heavy, and business use.

The good. Compact size, easy to type, reasonable speed for basic functions no fan noise. Things not so good for me. I am most disappointed in the display quality. I did look at it in the store but didn't watch any videos or look closely at mostly text screens. Black text is pretty ragged at 150% which is necessary for comfortable reading capability. Some video colors are reasonably saturated and some are not... uneven might be the best description. I knew the I7 version was rated at 1.3 (actually runs at 1.6) so didn't expect it to be a "speed demon" and it isn't, but with 16 Meg of ram and pcie ssd, and I7 expected it to be much faster than it is. My six year old desktop with original hybrid drive is much faster. I don't play games much and that is good because video, on battery power, the most accurate term I can think of is "non - functioning". I do like no fan noise but the trade offs are significant. The last "nit" is that it is quite difficult to turn on unless you have long fingernails, which I don't. You cannot turn it on by simply pressing the on button with your finger. You must be able to push the on button substantially into the chassis which requires pushing on it with a hard object. Bottom line is I'm undecided about keeping it.

I am very happy with my decision to buy Dell XPS 2 in 1. Excellent display, love the touch screen and the slim design. This was my first touch screen laptop so I am still getting used to the idea though. I am really glad I bought it.

Good Not Great

I bought this after a MacBook Pro I used was damaged beyond repair. The Good: It's fast, ultra slim, has solid battery life, beautiful graphics and picture quality. The Bad: its actually difficult to open, which I never checked in the store. It has some texture around the screen but when closed it has no notch to lift the screen. The screen is a bit flimsy and too flexible. Mine developed small ridges in the surface of the glass in the lower right corner. Lastly, its wireless power is average at best. More than 25' is dicey, where the Apple is twice that. If you're easy on a laptop, this might be a great choice, but if not, I'd be wary of this model.

This computer was on sale and I must say that Best Buy hit it out of the park with this one. It is so versatile. We use it to make our weekly bulletins in our church. And it is very fast and responsive. We love the fact that it can be used as a laptop, a tablet, etc. The software on the computer was ideal.
THANKS BEST BUY!

Love the XPS13 2 in 1! I don't use the touchscreen much at all, but like that I have the option. This is my 2nd XPS13 and it's my favorite computer ever. I wish there was a little better lip to open it and the power button on the side gets inadvertently pushed occasionally, but those are minor issues and my only concerns.
