As a desktop PC it meets or exceeds most of the requirements, great processor speed, sufficient memory, and a fast and spacious hard drive. It also has a good number of USB2 and 3 ports for accessories/peripherals.

Needed to replace my 5 yr old desktop with a computer that has lots of memory, RAM & ROM, as well has able to handle heavy duty photo editing. I also originate photo travel books that required tons of memory for writing and editing. This certainly does the job. Only temporary drawback is having to learn Windows 8.1 while working on a Switzerland travel book.

I purchased this Dell XPS to replace an outdated desktop computer at home. The XPS is super fast and seems to be a very quality machine. Our company has bought several of them and never had any problems with them so I decided to purchase one for myself. The only drawback for me was getting used to Windows 8. I had never used it before but am getting used to it pretty quickly. The computer also does not come with Microsoft Office but I already had a copy of it that I was able to install. So far I have been very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to others.

This PC is replacing a family room laptop that has been there for about 4 years. The PC is fast and quite and has tons of USB and other peripheral jacks both at the back and on top of the chassis. The computer was easy to setup, really just "plug and play". The only real negative is the form factor, size, is obviously larger than what we had and with dogs around we didn't want to place it on the floor so it sits up on the table and takes up space. Only had this for a few months now but happy we bought it!

For the money, this is a great computer. I work on large AutoCAD files for building design & use Photoshop for renderings, it regens multi-layered drawings quickly.

Bought this computer at the end of April since my old one was an XP that was 12 years old. This was a lot more efficient in response time.

Who purchases a computer these days without Windows Office? So no Word, no Excel etc. It's really not worth the price as you'll end up adding an extra $180 on to install Windows - how very very disappointing. I say purchase Windows 7. In addition, yes there is more! If you have an old hard drive that has crashed and thought you would get a new desktop to retrieve your information, guess again. Windows 8.1 does not allow it. Should you be looking for any free downloads (and you will need them) I would like to suggest FileHippo.com. The keyboard is the bare minimum, the mouse is very nice. Any device drivers designed for the 32-bit version of Windows won't work on PCs running a 64-bit version of Windows. It also does not play DVDs. One good thing is it is a snap to set up. The hardest part will be crawling under your desk. It is quiet. It has both mini-din and USB connectors for keyboard/mouse.
