Super Duper Desktop, 8th Gen I7

This Dell XPS 8930 is a really nice desktop. It has the latest 8th gen i7 chip. This model came with only 8 gigs of ram and a regular 1 tb hhd with no separate graphics card. Despite this it performs great although I'm not running any intense games. It has ports galore and plenty of room for expansion. It is set up to accept Intel Optane Memory and I may install a stick of this plus a small secondary SSD. I really wouldn't need to as this Dell is plenty quick as it is. An interesting feature is that the power supply swings out from the case to make it super easy to clean and install upgrades. Great job Dell and Best Buy !!!

Like the title says, it's a very good solid computer for office work or a little above average home desktop.
Where this particular machine excels is in what you get. The i7 processor and the multiple options for expanding make this a great base computer to be hyped out for for gaming or as a powerhouse workstation. I think the ram is upgradeable to 64gb on this particular model and I've thrown pretty nice video cards into these models (without having to swap out the power supply - might not be what the manufacturers tell you to do but it works for me without a problem) and bumped the ram up to 24 or 32 gb and you end up with a powerhouse computer for way less than the same thing would cost pre-built on most sites. Add a SSD for the OS and it's even better.
Overall very good machine for the price. Would like to see them in stock at this price (864 or lower) more often though so we don't have to track them down elsewhere when we need one.

Dell's XPS line of computers is great. It has high end specs that makes it good for a gaming computer. This was at low price so I just bought more memory, got an ssd m.2 hard drive and installed a new video card and it's game ready. Great for my needs.

Needs a good graphics card, and would be worth getting one if needed, for gaming for instance. For OFFICE WORK it is PERFECT just the way it is.

It comes on quick and it does everything. My Geek squad was able to set up everything and transfer the information from the old computer to the new one.

Problems with USB Ports

Purchased an 8930. It has 3 USB ports on the front face of the tower. Within two weeks of purchase, the computer would not recognize any device plugged into two of the three USB ports. In addition, every time I logged into the computer, I would receive several "Power Surge to USB Port" warning messages. Thanks to Best Buy, I was able to return the computer for a replacement.
