Grandma and I invested in this espresso machine as we were tired of paying for coffee’s and losing a couple hundred dollars a month. Coffee is expensive I’ll tell you that. I used to be a barista so I figure I could whip up something for us at home. I’m able to pull shots for my blended coffees as well as steam milk and craft a hot latte for grandma. So far the machine has run Smooth, no problems at all! If you want a good espresso machine that is efficient and affordable, give this one a go!

For the money and size, this is a great little machine. I would recommend this model highly since I have had almost the same model for two years and love it. Good espresso, small footprint. Very nice frother (good milk texture). Super easy to use and clean. Nice water resevoir. This model does not have an easy switch frother (latte to cappucino) but is otherwise the same as my model, but if you like lattes and cappucinnos, get the other model EC685W. I bought this as a replacement for my Dedica that I thought had stopped working, but De'Longhi figured out how to help me fix it (replace the coffee basket), so I returned this to Best Buy. But you know I love it since I was willing to buy it again.

Makes great espresso. A little bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it is easy. Doesn't take up a lot of counter space.

this is the first espresso machine I've ever bought and it was very easy to set up. I use this almost every day and I have yet to run into any issues. Very simplistic and user friendly. The best part is I can finally make a latte in under a minute and save myself from buying a $5 latte from Starbucks every day. I would definitely recommend this to first time espresso machine users

A great upgrade to a coffee lover! The simplicity of making a latte is so easy, even a caveman can do it! Saving money by indulging in 4-double latte's before noon. Crafting coffee; my pulls are getting better, as this is electric, and heats the water quickly. There is a steamer/water nosel on side; however, in my method, I added battery-operated, milk whisker to foam up the milk. This espresso maker comes with a plastic tapper; and I found a metal one for authenticity. expect; a few espresso coffee grounds on the countertop.

First off I read a bunch of reviews of other products and this one did not have many. Most complaints with others was it would overheat. I have not once had that problem with this machine. Also, its very small and fits great on our counter. We don't make a ton of them so its nice to make one or two when we want. I'm very happy with my purchase. I'm not an expert espresso maker so I don't know if this would be for the expert. But it sure is nice for me.

Easy to use and produces a tasty cappuccino. What I don’t like is the materials used (metals) seem to oxidize quickly?

My Starbucks Barrister Machine (made by Saeco) died after 12 years. I researched replacements. The Delonghi stood out for its moderate price, overall good rating, ability to craft your own latte vs just pressing a button, and it’s compact size. I miss my old machine, but this one is easier and faster to use. I don’t like that it has so much plastic, that the resevoir seems designed to break, and that you have to steam the milk twice to get it hot enough. Secret: After steaming the milk if you want to make another latte, wait a minute, turn off machine and your back in business vs waiting forever for the lights to stop blinking. I know it won’t last more than a couple of years, so if anyone knows of a better one please let me know.

This is the best gift I’ve ever bought myself. With the pandemic I was having espresso withdrawal. This makes better drinks than I can buy anywhere near my rural northern Michigan town. Grateful. It paid for itself pretty quickly, because I’m not making random coffee stops anymore.

When I bought this machine, I didn’t know much about espresso making. I just knew that I loved the richness in taste and the viscosity of a well done espresso shot. I also knew that it could only be made under pressure, and that a $100 machine cannot make a good espresso. This machine has a rating of 15 bars, which is more than enough to push a good espresso shot. So I though that $300 was an entry level price point to competitive quality espresso making. Wrong! This machine is good, and it’s better than any machine that claims to make espresso without the appropriate bar rating. But at most it makes okay espresso. First, the portafilter size is 51mm as opposed to 53mm of the higher end home espresso machines and the 58mm of pro espresso machines, so you really need to do some trial and error. Second, it tricks the “crema” formation by funneling the coffee through a single hole. In other words, it extrudes the extracted coffee so that it forcefully forms a “crema.” There are many pros as well. For starters, if you’re OK with okay espresso, it’s easier to get consistent okay results, as long as you control the variables appropriately (grind size, coffee weight, and tamper pressure). I use RO water so for me it’s very easy to clean since I get no mineral buildup. The machine has not failed me in over a year, and it doesn’t seem to be worn by use so far. But I feel this is a glorified $150 espresso machine with a retail price of $300. There are some modifications that can be made to make better espresso with this machine, like a bottomless portafilter and non pressurized filters, but if I could go back, I would have saved a little more and spent $800-$1000 on a true entry level espresso machine. So the bottomline is that I would recommend it only if you’re OK with okay espresso, or if you’re willing to buy the modifications to make a better shot. If you want to jump into an entry level espresso machine, save some more money because this is not the one.

DeLonghi Espresso Machine - So Far

Have had the DeLonghi EC680 stainless Home Espresso Machine in service only a few days. VERY differentfrom my former Saeco machine - which I used for more than 10 years in the office. BUT, the DeLonghi IS SO MUCH QUIETER! And it produces a perfect double espresso every time! Nice looking machine - some auto features, seems to be a great machine. I hope it lasts as well as the Saeco. Priced about the same.

Having used the EC680 for only a couple of weeks, I can't address its longevity but at least there has been no infant mortality. As for making a good espresso, here's what I've determined... [o] How to tamp -- Don't! DeLonghi's advice not to over-tamp the charge is, if anything, understated: tamping *at all* results in bitterness. I do use the tamping tool, but only to level coffee in the filter by spinning it lightly (i.e. with no downward pressure). Note that this also eliminates the chance of breaking the tool, which seems to be one of the more common complaints lodged by other reviewers. [o] "One for the price of two" -- Fill and use the two-cup filter, but then select the Single Cup brewing option. Following DeLonghi's instructions, I never got a brew that was strong enough to suit me. But with this method, the results are consistently good: strong flavor, no bitterness, reasonably good crema (small amount, but good body). It does use more coffee, but the result is worth it.

I was so excited to use this machine and it worked well for the first week but that's about it. After less than 10 days of having it, the water would no longer run through and I was only getting a few drops of espresso in my glass. I took it back and Best Buy gave me a new machine. Once I cleaned out the new machine and brewed my first shot, I had about an inch of espresso in my shot glass rather than a full shot. When I brewed the double shot, everything worked fine. Bottom line is that I spent a lot of money on this machine and it continuously is giving me problems. I will be looking into a different company for my next espresso machine.

I received the DEDICA Expresso maker as a gift. I thought my previous coffee maker made good coffee, but once I tasted the coffee from the DEDICA I was amazed at how much better the coffee tasted. The same exact coffee tasted completely different. I used to go to coffee shops a couple times a week. I no longer go since the coffee I now make tastes just like the coffee shops. My adults children also agree that the coffee tastes just like the coffee shop. I purchased a DEDICA expresso maker for each of them. If you love coffee, I would recommend this expresso maker. It will save you money in the long run since you will not need to go to a coffee shop again.

Easy to use and easy to clean. I'd use it more if my heart rate could support this much caffeine. The plastic in the drip area looks like it can crack if something knocks into it a little hard, but everything else that looks like metal IS metal. And the price isn't hard to justify when you consider that a buying a cup of espresso every work day for a year costs hundreds more than this machine and a year's worth of beans. The only thing this machine can't do is guilt you into tipping apron-wearing Millennials with crushed dreams and expanding debt.

I read many reviews here on BestBuy and also on Amazon. Some points I want to make: - if you have good-quality and appropriate coffee grounds, this machine works properly to pull a decent shot with enough crema - What do I mean with "appropriate"? The machine is picky. Unfortunately, I don't have a grinder at home so I bought pre-ground coffee. Illy coffee works perfectly fine, but my favorite ones from Joe's Coffee, unfortunately, cannot deliver a proper shot. No matter how I adjust the tampering power and powder amount, it does not work. What a pity. So if you have strong preference to a specific coffee bean brand, better getting a grinder with adjustable levels. - Some reviews complain that when removing the portafilter, coffee ground splits all over together with the released pressure. It happens, but only when the powder is "inappropriate" or tampered too heavily. - definitely much better than a capsule machine - I think the price can be justified by its quality
