The DELONGHI MAGNIFICA EVO ECAM29084SB comes nicely packaged yet easy to unpackage and set up. When reading the DELONGHI MAGNIFICA EVO Quick Start Guide, second page, where DELONGHI display and label all the parts to the main machine, there is a note on the bottom right corner that states “This short guide is not intended to explain all the functions of the appliance. Please read all the owner’s instruction booklet before use.” Before you attempt to use the machine and make any beverages, I cannot stress enough, read all the instruction booklets thoroughly. Once set up, the MAGNIFICA EVO took some trial and error however once I got accustomed to the MAGNIFICA EVO making any coffee drink was quick, simple and fun. Water hardness, DELONGHI supplies a water testing strip to test the hardness of your water and make the appropriate adjustments to the MAGNIFICA EVO. I had a very hard time determining the test strip outcome, I had a few others view the strip and they had a problem seeing the difference in color also. We all finally concluded that my water was Level 2 – Slightly Hard Water and I adjusted the coffee machine accordingly. The LatteCrema System does a good job of preparing and delivering the foamy milk to your coffee drink. The milk container dis-assembles easily for cleaning. When you turn on the MAGNIFICA EVO it performs an automatic preheat and rinse cycle. When the machine automatically shuts off, the machine once again performs an automatic preheat and rinse cycle. I find it handy to keep a spare cup under the adjustable coffee spout(s) to catch the water rather than allowing it to dispense into the drip tray. Once automatic preheat/rinse is complete during start-up you can make your beverage of choice. The auto shut down is nice, during shut down the machine will dispense some hot water which flushes out the coffee spouts. I left my machine set on the factory setting of 15 minutes. You can adjust the settings from, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 3 hours. I used a few of my quality coffee/expresso machines to test the coffee/expresso drinks created by the DELONGHI MAGNIFICA EVO. The DELONGHI machine does a great job of automatically making drinks with the touch of a button or two. I found the coffee drinks comparable and, in some cases, better than the drinks you can purchase at a coffee house. I found the temperature of the expresso and specialty coffees was good however I found the temperature low, than I prefer, for a cup of coffee. I chose to leave the temperature settings at the factory settings. Customizing, you can make custom adjustments to the MAGNIFICA EVO to suit your needs and taste. Adjusting, such as water temperature, can all be done prior to using the MAGNIFICA EVO. Coffee strength and type of coffee are quick adjustments you can make prior to each drink. The process for making any adjustments is very simple when following the instructions in the manual. Use a good quality coffee bean or ground coffee, no coffee maker and make good coffee from inferior beans or ground coffee. A 4 oz package of COPERACO SIGNATURE ESPRESSO BLEND came with the machine, it makes a very good coffee. Whether you are wanting an iced or hot coffee, an expresso, Cappuccino, or Latte macchiato, you will find making these at home just as easy and tasty as some of the well-known coffee houses. You will find yourself making a lot of good coffees with ease. The DELONGHI MAGNIFICA EVO ECAM29084SB has more features than a person would want to list. The more you use the machine the more you learn and the more fun you have making coffee drinks. I find the price of the DELONGHI MAGNIFICA EVO high. I suppose if you consider driving to a coffee house, frequently, sitting or waiting in line, and paying $7+ dollars a cup for a coffee drink, you may find the DELONGHI better fits your wishes. The DELONGHI is fun to use, and it is quick and easy to make some great coffee drinks.

Very good coffee expresso machine. I use every day

The machine have a huge design flaw. The milk container clips keeps cracking and falls apart. Once that happens the machine cannot register milk container is plugged in and the whole machine becomes useless for milk based coffee. Delonghi will never have the part in stock of you are looking to purchase it. You may find on eBay for twice the price. I have two milk containers that cracked within 8 months. Each after about 3-4 months use. This machine and any other delonghi machine belongs in a junkyard.

This 1-star review is based solely on quality control of the product that I purchased in-store. When I unpacked it at home, the espresso machine had blue tape holding the plastic side pieces together. I removed the blue tape only to discover that the plastic from the left side of the machine was disconnected and bulged out. There’s no way to push it back in or reconnect it. Someone at De’Longhi or Best Buy actually tried to tape the machine together to mask the issue and sell it as if it would go undiscovered. Further, the metal cup tray was significantly bent. Very disappointed in the quality control here, especially given the costs of the espresso machine.

Bought this machine last month and now the frothing function is not working, so basically I can’t make any milk-based drinks anymore! Contacted the De’Longhi customer service and am awaiting for their service department to determine if it needs to be sent back and get it repaired. You would expect the machine will work at least a while but it just passed 30days and it is not working properly already. Best Buy only has 14 days return window, so I am out of luck and so disappointed!

Overall, its ok, convenient since it's all in one. Here's the but... the coffee is weak and the settings are hard to set and you'll have to set the settings again after a power failure or if you move it. If you like weak espresso, this is for you!

This is a great machine for the price point; super simple to use and the coffee tastes good! Yes it's a little on the loud side when grinding and moving the brew group, but I mean it's not like most people are installing in a library so not sure why that's an issue in so many reviews. I generally only use the espresso and coffee functions, but the lattes are also good! Super easy to clean and maintain - provided you actually do that on a semi regular basis; of course the spent pucks will go moldy if you leave them there for weeks, and of course the milk frother will go gross if you don't clean it after each use, but both of these things take all of 30 seconds - I just put all my parts in the dishwasher a couple times a week. On the whole, a good machine, does what it says on the tin, and looks nice on my kitchen counter.

The coffee from De’Longhi tastes really good. Especially, hot latte is the best.

Best coffee machine its it's easy to make a good coffee

We are coffee drinkers in our house, but we don’t like the hassle of going through the steps of creating custom coffee drinks. Machines like the Magnifica Evo do the complicated work for you. I’ve used machines like this before so the set-up was pretty standard. The machine comes all in one piece, but there are certain parts that are taped down. All the tape and packaging must be removed before using the machine. A filter is also included for the water tank. It’s optional, but recommended for use — especially if you have a hard water issue. It’s also recommended that you clean all the removable parts before using the coffeemaker for the first time and there is a ‘priming’ step to complete the first time you use it. This is really just running water through the machine. The machine comes with a small package of the coffee beans. The machine can use coffee beans or coffee grounds. It has a built in grinder and it will use the correct amount of coffee beans or grounds for the recipe you choose. When I tested it out, I made a simple cup of coffee. The machine is programmed to dispense a ‘standard’ cup of coffee, which I think is approximately 6 ounces. My usual coffee cups are much larger than that and there is a button to dispense 2X the amount of the recipe you choose. This would be one thing I would like to see modified on this machine — the addition of a cup size selector. That would be a welcome option for anyone who enjoys different coffee sizes. The coffee that was brewed was magnificent. It was very smooth and the beans that were provided were a robust blend. I’m used to traditional coffee pots or French press coffee and this machine provides a much smoother brew than those methods. I do really like that you can set the machine up with water and coffee beans and then just walk up to it to brew a cup when you want it. The machine is pretty easy to use and maintain. The machine is pretty loud when it is in operation and it is pricey. You get a lot for this machine and you get a really good product. I would recommend it to someone who enjoys coffee or to a small business that serves a lot of clients. It would look good as a value-added service to those clients.

Wow! WAY more coffee maker than I need... But so much coffee maker to love! Let's start with the fact that this probably considered a "luxury" item, especially for a typical home environment. That said, if you are a coffee drink aficionado, this a great option. From opening the box to set-up to first coffee drink was maybe 20 to 25 minutes. Instructions say before first use to run 3 or 4 coffees through it. Set up was not difficult but using the quick set-up guide was certainly helpful. For general use, this could not be more simple. fill with water, fill with beans (fresh ground coffee is sssooo much better IMHO), fill with milk (if desired), power it on and hit the drink icon you want to make. You'll hear it heat the water, ground the beans, froth the milk and then out pumps a great fresh cup! A couple things I really like: It froths the milk quickly and thoroughly. My older Saeco also has a froth bar but you need to manually do it. This one does it for you. It also has a "self cleaning" option for the head of the milk frother. Simple one touch and it cleans it self. You still need to clean the milk tank but cool feature. I also appreciate the size of not only the water tank, but also the bean hopper AND the bean disposal bin. One minor complaint (and yes, it is minor) is I wish it had a small storage area for the water steamer thingy, the descaler and the scoop. On the other hand, it does come with a small bag of coffee so if you don't have them, you can go ahead and make your first few drinks if you forget beans. End of the day, great choice if you have the means and enjoy a great cup!

Machine was sent to Delonghi for repairs 2 times! Works 1 day and then same problem again! “The machine does not rinse! We are already 2 month back and forth with repairs!

Ok to start off, this machine is for the coffee lover. Plain and simple. I usually make my own cup of joe but with the De'Longhi, I feel like I want to charge my friends who come over $5 a cup. I have never had experience with a coffee machine of this caliber and man did I ALMOST enjoy every second of it. More on that later. In the box is the machine, paperwork, and many individually wrapped items including a water test kit, coffee beans and other accessories. Setup was not a simple task nor enjoyable. I should knock off a star here, but the end result is just too good. Now by all means, I am not a simpleton or someone who can't figure out stuff, but both the Quick Start Guide and the regular Instruction Book needs to be revised BAD. For instance, I opened the quick start guide to get a general feel of what I was throwing myself into. There were like 6 pictures in total. Step one, remove plastic and stickers then step 2 was all of a sudden add water and brew. I stared at the book for a solid 5 minutes while holding at least 4 parts in my hand wondering what in the world I do with these. Well no problem right? Let's look at the bigger and thicker Instructions Manual. Boy was I ever wrong. Instead of, you know, words, there were many more pictures drawn by my 6 year nephew directing at what to do. There is a picture that I assumed was the filter being drawn like it was pointed away from you, with left and right arrows on both sides of it near a drawing of a faucet and a 0,5L (yes a comma) all in one square. Like what? The filter sure couldn't hold .5 L of water. Was I supposed to run in under .5L of water? Shake it? Dip it? Literally nothing was in there to explain anything. Ok bad part rant over. Performance was top notch. It felt like a sin to throw away the 1st 3-4 cups of the heavenly beverage of the gods. But alas it was a new machine and must be done. You can use both ground or whole coffee beans in the machine, but come on, it has a sweet 13 setting grinder so of course you should use whole beans. You can also select the strength of whatever you decide to drink, Mild, Medium or Strong. I didn't try the flavor it came with but will soon as I use my own blend. At the touch of a button, you can make a solid cup of coffee or expresso. It was fun to experiment and I was hyped on so much caffeine. The hot water spigot is super easy to remove and replace with the frother and worked perfectly. It gave me so much confidence I felt like I could go toe to toe with a real barista. The water tank is easy to remove and clean. Comes with a descaler solution for easy clean up and the removable water filter comes out with ease to clean or replace. Use the test strips to make sure the water is the best it can be to make the flavor of the coffee even better! Though most of the machine is plastic, it is built like a champ and gives off a very premium vibe and feel. This machine is heavy at around 21lbs if I recall correctly so make sure you put it where you want it. Overall, putting the poorly written (if you can call it that) instructions aside, this De'Longhi is the real deal. All your caffeine cravings will be more than satisfied with this and I would recommend to all coffee lovers and drinkers alike.

I absolutely love this machine! The De’Longhi Magnifica Evo has completely upgraded my at-home coffee game.
