I researched a few different brand machines for this gift. We LOVE it! It tells you everything to do. Every cup is perfect. I highly recommend this machine.

Got this for $1,000 during holiday sales and couldn’t be happier with the ease of use and the great tasting coffee it makes. It makes some noise, but it doesnt bother anyone in my home. I’d argue it tastes better (and much cheaper and convenient) than a cafe where you have less control over temperatures, amounts, intensity, etc.

Great product. I would recommend it. The milk frother is my favorite. Smooth velvety foam.

This is our first espresso machine and it’s great. We also have a keurig but don’t use it after tasting the coffee this makes.

Very easy to use. Still dialing in the grinder and settings to get a less bitter shot of espresso. Pretty much only use it for the milk based drinks. I love it. Just push some buttons and out the door I go.

Great coffee machine. Fancy touch screen with many customizable options for different types of drinks. Really flexible when compared to previous models. The only downside is that it is loud when delivering the coffee (silent for frothed milk).

Very good super automatic espresso machine. There are a few quirks, like not knowing if it has enough water to complete the selected drink - need to watch for that. But mostly is has been great. Had an issue with the screen/buttons - Best Buy Replaced under warranty hassle free.

I have the Magnifica Plus and am not impressed with the machine. (I used to have the Breville, and it’s a better choice) . You may think a semi-automatic machine has more steps when operating than a fully automatic one. The Magnifica Plus milk container is like a Lego puzzle of five pieces that you need to disassemble when cleaning. For instance, if you make an XL large latte, it will consume the entire container of milk; if you make a medium latte, it will consume almost half, and you can store the milk in the fridge for 48 hours as I notice the milk starts getting a funny taste (2% milk filter) after that time. You will not turn on the dishwasher to wash one item, meaning you will spend time frequently cleaning this item manually. With the Breville, you wash the cup and wipe the wand. The Magnifica Plus dispenses water when turned on or off and cleans after milk, filling the bottom tray faster. If you don’t clean the bottom tray frequently, it will start to smell. (I keep a mug handy for this operation to avoid the extra cleaning step of the bottom tray) The Magnifica Plus has a coffee option that tries to emulate a drip coffee option, but no matter what setting you adjust, the coffee always comes out too watery or with an intense, burnt flavor. I have tried all the settings for this coffee option and have had no luck getting a good cup. Do not expect the espresso extraction to be as dense and flavorful as the higher-end machines; it is just decent. I don’t call it "Crema" because "coffee cream" typically doesn't contain actual cream; it’s just scummy foam (Coffee Crema is just a marketing word made up by Giovanni Gaggia). That said, it does produce good foam when using quality beans. The coffee temperature is suitable (it comes out hot), and the milk frother works well. I like the drink sizes, and if you want a bigger size, there is a prompt at the end of the pouring that allows you to add more. I am still deciding whether to keep this machine. It’s overkill for a single person to use and a hassle to maintain and operate just for a cup of coffee.

Originally bought the Evo and traded up for the Plus for more variety. Great coffee maker. Woukd buy again!
