The DeLonghi True Brew coffee maker is a very nicely built machine. Despite it being mostly made of plastic it does in fact look and feel fancy. It is very simple to use but you have to complete an initial setup in which I recommend reading the manual unless you want to figure it out on your own. This machine works with coffee beans and pre-ground coffee. A sample bag of coffee beans was provided in the box and let me tell you, it was good!. You can brew from 3oz all the way to 24oz. It will fit from the small espresso cup to your 24oz thermal mug. The front panel works with touch control buttons, and they are very responsive and it also displays the time. You can choose how strong you want your coffee from light, gold, bold and the special selection over ice and pre-ground. I prefer strong, so I choose bold. I did try the light option and I could definitely tell the difference. On the side it has a large water reservoir and on the top it has the coffee dispenser. I really like the thinking they put into this machine. When brewing small cups like espresso, there’s a pullout cup holder mid way above the cup tray. That will avoid drop spills when the coffee is being poured, a very neat idea. Cleaning it is very simple. Just pull out the front panel and clean the two storage inside. One will have the used grinded coffee and the other dirty water. That water dispenser will fill up quickly depending how often you use the equipment. If you encounter a flashing red symbol and your machine won't brew it means you need to empty that water container. Another feature most will like is the ability to autostart. Wake up in the morning and your coffee will be ready for you. This coffee maker sounds like a dream machine but it is not perfect. Something you will notice once you turn it on and when starting to brew some coffee is that it will make noise. Of course this machine grinds coffee beans so it’s understandable that some type of noise will be expected but it is loud. Also there is not an option for hot water only. Overall this coffee brewer performs extremely well and it is easy to use. With its fancy look it will definitely stand out in your kitchen. The ability to use coffee beans is and pre-ground coffee is a plus. With all the plenty of size options and coffee brewing selection it’s a fit for everyone. In the box you get the coffee maker, sample bag of coffee beans, maintenance solution kit, scoop and manuals.

Like most adults, I'm not so much a coffee drinker as I am a coffee hound. I need my morning caffeine rush to guide me into the day. I make my 6 cups, drink my coffee, and start my day. However, it wasn't until I made my first cup with the De'Longhi Single Serve Coffee Maker that I realized what I had been missing out on -- that initial joy of getting a good cup of java at a coffee shop and sipping away -- and I was reminded of all of this quickly. This machine grinds up fresh beans which really brings the coffee to life. I have been purchasing regular ground coffee in bulk -- I buy so much that it often times expires, but I didn't care... it did the job. To which I thought, when did drinking coffee become a job? De'Longhi reminded me of why I started to drink coffee. I've never made coffee with freshly ground beans for myself. It's a game-changer. You can even check the quality of your water with the included strip so you are starting at the best point. I don't need to worry about measuring out how much water or coffee I need -- that is all done when I select the size cup that I want to make. And not to be lost in this, while the flavors from fresh are better, I can't make 6 cups at a time anymore. While I thought this coffee maker may be a problem for me given the largest quantity output is 24 oz, it's done with purpose... so your second cup is as good as the first. No more bitter coffee from the maker that continually clicks on/off to keep the coffee warm -- if I want more, I simply brew a fresh new cup -- microbrew means something very different around here. I simply don't waste bad inedible coffee anymore. I have been known to put the leftover coffee in the fridge, but now I look forward to my fresh daily cup (or two). There is a nice option to brew up to 24 oz directly into my 30 oz thermos, so I can grab and go. There are some minor downsides -- it's loud -- but honestly, it has a grinder, so that's a small price for the improved quality. And if you have family over, it takes a bit longer than just making a pot, but again -- small price for the improved process of getting a microbrew. So in short, this coffee maker not only makes one of the best cups of coffee that I've had, but it is BEAUTIFUL on the countertop. It looks as classy as I feel when I drink my coffee.

This machine is top of the line fully automatic brew, great balanced result, it does take a few minutes to set up, program and figure out but so worth the wait, the result is a perfectly brewed cup of coffee regardless of the size or boldness level desired which you can pick before brewing. A couple of things that are not a big issue but you might want to be aware of is this machine will only brew individual cups up to 24 oz but will not brew a whole coffee pot, although it has the option to use pre ground coffee, the result with freshly ground beans is so much better and also the second point is that when you want to brew pre ground coffee over ice it only does up to 16 oz, but have to say I absolutely enjoy this new machine. I also like that it has a large water reservoir, so you don't have to fill up water all the time, it lasts me for a long time. Apart from that, I love that most of its panel is digital. It automatically grounds the coffee and brews it at the exact dose you want it to. You can choose light, gold, bold, espresso and iced coffee. I also love the auto on coffee, I have my coffee ready and waiting for me each morning, hands down, best coffee maker I've had!

The De’Longhi True Automatic Coffee Maker is a premium tier brewing solution. I brew a decent amount of coffee even though I don’t drink it myself. My GF is the taste tester and an avid coffee enjoyer. At my house I have a pour-over carafe, a drip brewer, and a French Press. She has an iced coffee maker and a De’Longhi Espresso maker at her house. It was fun to compare the drink quality from this brewing solution to our other methods. The brewer comes with a small package of whole roasted beans, a scoop, descaling solution, and a water test strip used in the setup. The brewer itself has a pretty decent range of modes – light, gold, and bold brew strengths. You also have 6 different sizes – 3oz espresso style and 8, 12, 16, 20, and 24oz coffee style. You also have the option to configure it to brew over ice, use pre-ground coffee, and auto-brew. On top of the machine is the bean hopper, which has a gasketed lid to seal the container and maintain the freshness of the beans. The bean hopper feeds the built-in conical burr grinder. The front of the machine has the interface buttons and display. Below that is the removable section of the brewer which conceals the used grounds hopper and waste-water cup behind it. In the front is a flip down shelf used for shorter mugs or espresso cups. The bottom has a nicely weighted metal grill covering the overflow pan and has plenty of height to accommodate larger tumblers. The brewer is tall (around 16”) but it fits underneath my overhead cabinets, and the design of the top hopper makes it easy to add beans without pulling the machine out. It is wider than my drip brewer by a decent amount on account of the water reservoir, but it’s still manageable. Setting up the brewer was fairly easy. I followed through the quick start guide and familiarized myself with the components. I did the included hard water test – my water is a 2 apparently. I’m sure this rating helps the machine factor in time between descaling cycles. I cleaned all the pull-out components and let everything dry. Once everything was back together, I filled the water reservoir and started the initial cleaning cycle. This took a few minutes to complete, but once it was finished the machine had me set the clock and input the water hardness number. After all of this it was ready to go. Brewing some coffee was unbelievably easy. I powered on the machine with a press of the power button. After about a minute it is ready to go, so I select my cup size and brew strength, and then hit the brew button. The machine pulls in a measured amount of beans for my drink size, grinds them, and compacts them for brewing. From start to finish it takes about 3 minutes from powering on the machine to having a brewed cup of coffee at full strength. It’s really that simple. Machine care is pretty easy as well. You have to empty the used grounds when it gets full. A little indicator will go off telling you this, and will stop you from making more coffee until you do so. You also need to empty the waste-water cup every few days, or when it gets full. You also need to pull the infuser out of the machine and rinse it out monthly. I found the maintenance to be pretty easy and the machine keeps itself fairly clean. I want to note that I like all my coffee makers – they are great machines that make great coffee. However, I only have positives when comparing this to my other methods for brewing coffee. Compared to my drip maker and pour-over setup this was so much easier to brew with. I don’t need to bust out my crappy (yet reliable) blade grinder, and wait 2-3 times longer for the pour-over or drip process to complete. I also don’t have to clean out the wet grounds from the reusable filters, and I don’t seem to go through coffee beans as fast. The strength of the brew is stronger, which my GF wants. I also noticed fewer micro-grounds in the bottom of the cup vs. the other methods of brewing coffee. Making iced coffee was also easier just for the fact that the machine grinds the beans internally. I can also make various sizes of iced coffee vs. the single size my iced coffee maker produces. The manual even has a guide for the number of ice cubes to use based on the size you want. The only area where the TrueBrew has competition is from my other De’Longhi machine. It’s a 3 year old manual espresso machine (Model ECP3420), but it has a built-in steam frother that allows me to make lattes or cappuccinos. The TrueBrew system does not have a frother, which is the only downside (for me) with this system. The quality of the espresso was pretty close between the two. The edge went to the manual machine because it produced a little more crema. However, the TrueBrew was more consistent with the strength/quality since it doesn’t require manual tamping of the grounds – less chance for user error. It was also easier and decently faster to make an espresso with the TrueBrew. The built-in grinder and used ground handling system really gives it an edge in user friendliness. The versatility and ease of use of this machine can’t be overstated from me. I made things that are normally too much of a pain to attempt or was just unable to with the equipment I had. She works long overnights but is usually at my place before she heads in. The original espresso machine lives at her house, so prior to the TrueBrew I couldn’t make an espresso at my place. I would just make the strongest pour-over blend I could, and that was it. It wasn’t unheard of for her to skip the coffee from me and just hit up a drive-thru place. She’d get a couple of shots of espresso added to a drink from them. With the TrueBrew I was able to make her coffee and add a couple of shots of espresso in a matter of minutes. This saves her a good amount of time and money, which really adds up. I also got to make her favorite dessert – affogato. Nothing like watching the finale of The Last of Us with a fresh affogato to make for a nice night in. Some things that I liked about this machine aside from the coffee it makes. I have replaced my drip brewer, standalone grinder, and pour-over brewer and kettle with this machine. It would also replace the iced coffee maker, and expresso machine if they weren’t already at GF’s house. The counter and cabinet space used up by these other coffee methods took up a much larger footprint than the TrueBrew. The other thing I really liked was the little coffee ground cakes the machine produces. I have always put my used grounds in my garden for fertilizer. It is much easier to do it with the little cakes every few days than with the wet grounds that must be dispersed every time coffee is made. Overall, the TrueBrew system performs really well, and I am genuinely impressed. It has already replaced my drip brewer and pour-over setup in my coffee nook. I love the bean hopper and built-in grinder, which is a huge improvement over my old grinding process. The quality of the coffee produced is on par or better than what I was able to make before, and it is certainly easier and quicker.

We were looking for something to replace our k-cup machine that died and stumbled upon this new option which provides the convenience of a k-cup machine without the waste and cost of k-cups. This grinds and brews single servings up to 24 oz in the same time or less than our Keurig did. The over ice option works surprisingly well too and even though you select the size of the cup, it knows that you have ice in your cup and doesn't fill it up all the way. Overall this is much better tasting coffee, cheaper in the long run, and better for the environment. It's pretty straightforward to use too. The taste is great and we love that we don't have to do any elaborate cleaning. It puts the grounds into a reservoir that has a pretty decent capacity and it self-rinses and puts the rinse water in a separate reservoir. Even cleaning out the part inside only needs to be done once per month and it's very easy. We didn't love the ground coffee funnel process...that ended up being a little messier and didn't taste as good. Making iced coffee from grounds was confusing. It is a bit tall, but still fits under our cabinets. It only needs to be opened from the top when you need to put more beans in. Overall we love it and think it's a great alternative to k-cups.

I have not experienced any of the issues I see in the reviews. This machine has done nothing but produce a rich, bold and smooth cup of coffee every single time. The only minor hiccup I encountered was during the initial power on in trying to set up the clock and auto function, for some reason the buttons didnt respond. I had to power down the machine several times before I was able to set up the time and program the auto function. I'm only a few weeks in but so far so good. Coffee has been nothing but fresh and delicious!

I am in love with the Bean Extract Technology. Morphing beans into fresh coffee in an instant! You cannot get any fresher than that. I tested this out with the espresso beans they included (which was an EXCELLENT touch on their part). The package comes with the machine, guide, sample pack (mentioned above), measuring spoon, etc. The step-up was easy and honestly I could not wait to grind my first batch. For cup size, you have 3oz to 24oz to choose from as well as strength (light, gold, ice, bold). You can also use preground coffee as well, so there is not worries if you do not want to utilize the Bean Extract Technology. You will just utilize the measuring cup that De’Longhi provides with this machine. There is an option for espresso shots if you so desire ( I am not a huge fan of espresso shots, but to each their own). Overall, this machine is definitely a must have for coffee fanatics who like the idea of grinding their own beans for fresh coffee. BUT, it can also be used by those that want to switch to pre-ground coffee if they are in a rush. Features like auto-on, espresso, and the Bean Extraction Technology make this a tier above the rest of the machines out there. I found it easy to use, setup was quick, and coffee tasted great!

Great tasting coffee at the push of a button. Every cup as good as the last. Very easy to set up and maintain. Lots of options for brew size. Very easy to clean up. I don't know if I could go back to a drip brew again. One note, it is not quiet. So if you're trying to make a cup and be stealthy that is not happening.

Overall is a good coffee maker. The only issue that I have is how much water it uses to clean itself. Like I make two cups and all the water is gone and need to refill and empty the drip container. Another issue is the mess that the coffee grounds make inside. If you clean it constantly then is no issue but if you forget then is a mess. The coffee flavor is great tho.

Excellent product, very well designed and easy fits

Negatives first-loud, slow, small containers for used grounds and bypass liquid, so lots of emptying. Built in grinder leaks a bit into interior. Positives-brews a delicious cup of coffee, has three strength options and many size options, from 3 oz to carafe, which is fantastic!

Makes great coffee but the internals (where the waste goes) can be a bit messy.

Looking for a good coffee machine has become so difficult lately because of all the nuanced choices available. I'm an espresso guy mostly, but I like a good American style brew as well. I will typically only do one cup at a time, so my go-to brewer is a French press because I can vary the dosage. Single serve plastic k-cups with questionable fillings were never a thing for me. I've had automatic espresso machines for years; so when De'Longhi offered this one cup brew system, a name I recognized and a solution I approved of, I thought it worthy of trying out. De'Longhi has been making espresso machines for a long time in the consumer market, so I was aware of their products and capabilities which made my decision easier. As any of their machines, the TrueBrew starts as an espresso machine then adds some tweaks to allow it to brew like a drip brewer would. The built-in grinder has no fineness adjustment which I found to be a little odd. My guess would be the machine has preset fineness measurements based on the selection chosen. Also, based on cup size, the amount of coffee ground varies by 1-3 grams which can also be adjusted with the "light, gold, bold" settings. Another impressive, automated feature I've found was the crema dial (fluid flow) found on most of their machines is programmed into the drink selection menu. For example, an espresso would restrict water flow to the max, increasing pressure allowing for a richer extraction. Whereas, a 12oz coffee would have the restrictor at about half way, and a 24oz would be fully open. The extra tall spout can accommodate anything from a large tumbler to an espresso cup (thanks to the drop down tray). The 64oz water tank is a good size for at least 2 of even the largest selection and positioning it on the side makes the level easily viewable for refilling as necessary. The bean hopper can easily hold 12oz of your favorite coffee. There's also a bypass chute located just behind and incorporated in the bean hopper for when you want to try some pre-ground coffee. A few minor dislikes that I'm happy to contend with: the aforementioned bypass chute has a rather small opening and has a tendency to cause grounds to spill from the sides from the included scoop so just be careful pouring. Also, the hopper lid is devoid of any grab handle making it somewhat difficult to lift off and the surrounding gasket makes it difficult to put back in place. Cleanup is easy because it has the same interior as all automatic espresso machines, with a separate bin for used grounds, water and drip tray; they slide out from the front quite easily. When removing the brew unit for cleaning, make sure the machine is off, as it goes through a rinse cycle and returns the brew group to starting position. I love this machine! it is the ideal substitute for all those single serve cup and capsule machines and, it's creates no landfill waste.

Extracts an excellent cup of coffee, especially with gold brew. A few quirks since you need to empty discharge chambers for grounds and water about every 4 brew cycles. The hole for adding your own ground coffee is in the back of grinder and very small so I suggest you purchase a funnel scoop. I wish you could adjust water temperature also. Pricey.

Wow, someone really thought this through. I don't read manuals and the product anticipates my mistakes. It makes great coffee and does it a great way. I really like doing a cup at a time for my preferences. I also like the different sizes and the strength. Really an amazing product. Glad I bought. Easy cleaning too and cleans itself too. I have never bought something like this and was very glad I did. Yes, coffee is important to me.

I’ve been using the TrueBrew for two months now, several times a day, and it’s been excellent. The design is sleek and elegant, making it a stylish addition to the kitchen. Coffee consistently tastes great, with rich flavor thanks to the bean extract technology. It’s quick, versatile, and easily handles different coffee styles and sizes. Cleanup is simple and hassle-free, which makes daily use even more enjoyable. Overall, a reliable and impressive machine that delivers both quality and convenience.

I originally bought this coffee machine for my husband but now, I’m using it more than him. It’s easy to clean and the settings don’t leave you guessing. The cleaning part is my favorite. The cleaning is very simple and not as intimidating like my breville. 10 out of 10 for simplicity and easy to use coffee machine. The only draw back is the size of this coffee machine. If you have a big kitchen counter than it won’t matter. I love it and don’t regret buying it.

The best tasting coffee I've ever had, however, the machine is flawed. It's supposed to store all the used coffee grains and water in compartments in the machine, and you're supposed to easily clean it after about 7 or so cups. What happens is, the grains and water go everywhere in the unit, and when you pull it apart to clean it, it makes a giant mess on the counter. Hoping they will fix this issue on their next model!

As the father of two little ones, coffee truly is the key to a happy life, especially on the days the kiddos are looking for chaos. I have always had a ritual with my coffee ever since I was young. It It keeps me sane and is one of my favorite parts of my day. With this machine, all I need to do is pour in the beans and push a few buttons, and I am well on my way. Incredibly easy. What does that mean? MORE COFFEE FOR ME! I can have an espresso shot! A cappuccino! Maybe an Americano! Whatever I want, I can have and very quickly too. I highly recommend this coffee machine, especially if you consider this magical brew to be as integral a part of your life as I do.
