Feel better using a Demineralization Filter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I feel better using a filter that reduces minerals in the water that cause white dust, but the filter turns orange after 2 weeks and the filter is supposed to last between 30-40 days. I wish Crane would explain (on the box) what the filter is supposed to look like when it needs replacement.

It helps cut down on the white powder that seemed to coat everything near the humidifier. Also, if the humidifier wasn't cleaned every 2-3 days, the surfaces of the humidifier would get a film built up on them. While using the filter, the cleaning period has been extended to every 8-10 days, with a thorough cleaning with vinegar about every 30 days. We buy a filter at the start of the winter, and throw it away in the spring. They seem to last 3-5 months.
