I wanted to write a review for those people that never played a should game...because that was me. I played Bloodborn for 10 hours and didn't enjoy it. I had no intention of getting this game. However I went thru a phase where I wanted hard games. I saw reviews that said it was the best PS5 game and best looking game this generation so far. Both staments are correct I found out. So I got this on sale. It is now my favorite PS5 game. This game, much like Returnal...rewards you for playing. You can unlock shortcuts in every level. This makes death really not that bad. The game is incredible looking. Like really really good. I never played the one for PS3. If you own a PS5, get this game. I can't tell you how much fun, addicting and incredible it is.

BluePoint games did a phenomenal job on this remake. It is beautiful and the gameplay is great. The story is awesome and the load times are cut down significantly. A great first soulsborne game for newcomers. Be ready for a challenge.

Excellent game. Truly next-gen visuals with lightning fast load times. It has many quality of life improvements over the original that make the experience much smoother. This game starts the PS5 generation off with a bang.

An excellent game so far, and i highly doubt that'll change. Not for the impatient gamers...this will humble you! at first you start off, things go great, until they don't. and even in the midst of 25-100 deaths, you still respawn to try & figure out the 'puzzle' that is Demon's Souls. I'd say in comparison to games like Bloodborne- some may see it as challenging, or maybe slightly, SLIGHTLY less crazy. I beg to differ...i really think this is up there with Bloodborne, although the boss fights are probably easier. Not as crazy as Sekiro, but it's definitely no cake walk. other than this FACT...the games visually breathtaking. killer graphics, awesome fidelity..super responsive. Just get ready for a truly wild ride, and play smart from the get go.

Graphics are SPECTACULAR. Gameplay is smooth as silk. This game is a great remaster. This game maybe VERY challenging but is worth experiencing.

First of all, I have thank Best Buy for allowing me to preorder my PS5 and receive it on launch day! And Demon's Souls is the perfect next gen game to showcase the PS5's. The game loads and plays as smooth as silk. The combat is weighty, satisfying and brutal. The graphics are arguably the best I've ever seen in a 30+ year gaming career. This game is gorgeous! I can't say enough positive things about this game. yes, it is difficult and can be discouraging at times, but with the lightning fast loading screens, if you die you're back in the action almost instantly. Stick with it, level up, don't forget to upgrade your weapons & gear, and keep pushing forward! Umbasa!!!

Graphics on this game are incredible. It is also a great story. However, this is a challenging game. It is a remake of the 2009 release. I suggest it, but be ready for a challenging quest.

One of the key reasons to own a PS5 and the precursor of a modern genre and success story for Miyazaki and his team. Worth a spin even if you're not a Souls fan just to see the amazing work Bluepoint studio did to truly create a 'next-gen' gem. Still truly a standout on the PS5 all these years since launch.

What a fantastic experience. Beautiful, beautiful graphics, it runs like a dream, and it's truly difficult but so rewarding. Yes, it's tough. Yes, you will die. A lot. But I loved every minute, even the many frustrating times of dying over and over in the same area. I have a minor quibble about the controls - I wish the camera lock worked differently. Locking a target can be life and death here, and I really wish it could be on a button that isn't also used for centering the camera. In any case, I've now hit Platinum both here and in Bloodborne, and I'm ready for the next challenge.

Beautiful game, brutal difficulty, but worth every minute of it. This game showcases the PS5 and the dying is offset by the quick load times and engrossing scenery/atmosphere

I’ve never played Demon’s Souls but when I saw how graphically impressive it looked on PS5 I just had to bite the bullet. I’ve heard the rumors of how difficult these games can be, but that’s an understatement. This game is absolutely brutal and it challenges you to adapt and learn. The truth just like the player base says, the best advice is “git guud”. The world environments suck you in and the diverse enemies are truly a stressful joy to witness. I’m about ten hours in, and I’ve probably died a thousand times, but I will continue on because this game is a masterpiece. Umbasa!

Amazing story, great performance!! 10/10 game beautiful graphics!

I was reluctant to get this game after hearing how difficult it is and the $70 price tag wasn’t helping. I’ve played a souls game once before and wasn’t very good but I was itching to give this game a chance. The graphics are freaking amazing and the fantasy settings couldn’t be better. It is a very challenging game but there are guides and videos to help you out if you need it. I would recommend only using guides if you are struggling but I wouldn’t feel any shame in using one because not everyone has lots of free time to invest in games, especially one where you die a lot.

I'm maybe 1/4th or 1/3rd of the way through the game and I have to say that it is much more enjoyable and not as frustrating as previous From Software games have been. I have played Dark Souls 1 - 3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro and this is very close to Bloodborne for me in terms of overall fun playing. It could very well be the fact that this game is over 10 years old (gameplay wise, since this is a remaster) or that I have yet to hit a particular boss or area where I will rage quit, but so far I'm enjoying it very much.

Whether you are new or a veteran of the souls series, you will be in for a treat. This remake of the Playstation 3 classic was pulled off perfectly. The graphics style combined with the smooth gameplay and animations make this a must buy for those looking to show off the Playstation 5. The game is very difficult, nearly to the point of frustration (but hey, what Souls game isn't?), but with every couple dozen deaths while climbing this mountain, comes a milestone, which leaves you feeling good and curious about what's next on the adventure. Stick with it and be rewarded.

Great remaster done properly. Don't buy if dying a lot and I mean a lot will make you crazy; high difficulty level but the original was harder. The game arrived quickly, the day after release and was packed well. Best Buys communication from the time of purchase, through delivery, and even after having it is by far the best, quickest, reliable place that I've purchased from online hands down, which has lead to me using them for many things in the recent month that I usually would have used amazon for. Definitely recomend and I will keep using them.

Very underrated PS5 launch title , now PS5 pro enhanced with better performance and visual a must have if you’re into soul like games

Similar to what Breath of the Wild was for the Nintendo Switch, Demon's Souls is THE must own launch title for the PS5. If you've already played the original PS3 version or any of the Dark Souls games, you know what you're in for. If you haven't, just now that this game is equal parts extremely difficult and highly rewarding. You WILL get frustrated and die more times than you can remember, but then you will also scream with giddy joy when you finally best that boss you just can't seem to beat. Amazing game.
