Wrong Adapter

Was looking for a replacement adapter for a HP Presario F572US. The HP sticker on the laptop lists the product as a Presario F500 so I figured this one should work. While the ratings on the power supply are correct for the laptop, the plug is too large to fit into the laptops power jack. Took this back to a store and they told me it was a Marketplace item. Called the number on the return label and they told me it is not a Marketplace item and they did not know why the store would not take it. They suggested I pay for UPS to return it to the return center to avoid the hassle of having to deal with the store!
