Setup in a 5.1 environment and wasn't blown away by the sound. Setup and menus are easy to navigate but just didn't think the sound reproduction was all that. I've hooked up far lesser receivers with a much better sound field.

Comes with no owners manual, that is almost standard today. I have to run back and forth from my desktop to my receiver. Takes too many hook up cables. My Denon remote does not work on my Denon CD play. Just another remote that needs to be added to my ever growing collection.

I had a system like this before. And it worked great.

The unit does well with HDMI inputs. It has ability to input 2 analog devices (red white yellow cables), but only the sound is heard, no video goes to the TV. Is there any way to have an older VHS player with no HDMI option work with sound and video?

The main reason I bought this was to be able to switch video and sound from only one device, use HDMI cables and get rid of the multitude of cables I used on my old receiver. It does this job great. I just wished it has an easier way of changing sound modes.

I have this receiver for a few months now and it handles all my speakers very well - i did not hook up any other hdmi to this but i will guess it has very good hd movie quality - follow instructions for easy set up and you will be listening to good quality surround sound in minutes

Our old receiver died so we replaced it with the same brand and it was a flawless transition. We had no issues with the old one until it died and we had it for 9 years so hopefully we have the same luck with this one.

First and foremost I did a good amount of research before deciding to purchase a Denon receiver. I want to say I love this unit but that would be a lie. For starters, when it turns on it sometimes seems to have a hard time switching between inputs. I have my Xbox connected to the Game input and cable connected to the CBL/SAT input, the TV flashes when it first turns on and I have to switch back and forth between the two inputs to get a picture. I have a relatively new Samsung 82" Q8FN so I know it's not the TV because the problem started once the receiver was connected. The receiver turns off at random times and the interface seems outdated. Overall when it works as it should, it does a great job of powering my RP-8000 tower speakers along with my center speaker and 12" subwoofer.

First Denon I have owned. Very easy to set up with the included microphone. I removed a star due to the on screen menu and set up screens look like they are from 20 years ago. It looks the same as receivers from years ago. This is almost 2020, please produce a well polished user interface.

I have always loved denon products. The first unit I had to return because it shut off all of a sudden. The replacement process by Best Buy was nothing short of spectacular. No questions no hassle no mess.
