I wish it had at least one legacy composite video in but despite that it is a great av receiver. I was also hoping to eliminate some remotes but the Denon remote does not seem to be programmable to control other components. The included mic made set up and speaker connections easy.

To help reduce the number of remote controls in your system, we recommend connecting your equipment using HDMI and HDMI ARC/CEC with your television. HDMI CEC can enhance daily use by allowing a single remote to control your system, but please keep in mind that it only provides basic features such as volume control, channel, and power. For a comprehensive all-in-one remote experience, a universal remote will still be necessary.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace a Yamaha amp that I loved that was having some issues that could not be remedied so after looking I decided on this Denon model as I have great speakers for surround sound in this amp totally enhances that experience. What I loved and setting it up is that you have a microphone that you run some tests with indifferent seating positions and it actually tunes the signal being sent to your different speakers exactly to your listening environment. Incredible! The other plus I didn't realize is that I had also just replaced my flatscreen with a new smart TV and this unit perfectly integrates with the functionality there and even turns off and on automatically with the television. I have to say there is no aspect of this unit that disappoints me or that I would suggest they change.

It sometimes will be hard to get connected with the tv if you change the source but is not super common.

I am running all Polk Audio Monitors and it sounds phenomenal. Trust me get it you wont be sorry.

My Yamaha receiver’s subwoofer output stopped working. The Best Buy consultant recommended the Denon brand and introduced me to my new receiver. It is working great! I’m a happy camper!

I also like that it was easy to set up. Within 10 minutes I was connected wirelessly. It was strange setting it up with a fluance turntable though which is why I bought it. Connecting in via phono ports made the music sound like it was playing from a blown out mono speaker in a paper bag. Plays fine from other ports…

So far I am extremely pleased ,with this receiver. Setup was very easy for connecting a turntable, blu-ray player, cd player, directv, and firetv. Sound and pictue are great.

I use it to stream Google music via Chromecast audio, play records via a vintage Technics turntable - and movies. Music - I have a 5.1 system, but for music I switch to stereo mode. In stereo mode it uses front speakers and a sub. I have 4 Ohm front speakers and the Denon gets barely warm after hours of use. Pretty awesome. Playing records - phono input is just average and a separate pre-amp would be beneficial. Streaming sound quality is great and sounds better than records. Sound is very warm - my front speakers with a different amp had way too much treble, but with this Denon I had to actually turn the treble all the way up, Good sound without any harshness, I was very pleasantly surprised. For movies - in one word, outstanding. Overall, very happy with the Denon as I always wanted to try this brand. The only small complaint is with regards to built in phono stage, but other than that - exceeded my expactations
