I purchased the S960H mainly for eARC and Atmos. My old Denon 1713 could not play Atmos from any of the streaming apps on my 4K TV. Now, I can enjoy the best sound quality from my TV via eARC. Dolby Atmos, even with only front upfiring speakers, really creates a 3D listening experience.

Prior Sony receiver stopped working. I replaced it with this Denon and love it. The buttons are so much easier to read when necessary. Set up was fast and works perfect with speakers, TV, DVD player, CD player and cable box. Very happy I purchased this one!

Tried this receiver for a couple weeks it replaced a Yamaha 7-1 receiver. I liked the set up and screen walk through. Did not like the sound though sounded muffled up front for tv. Tried different settings and speaker levels helped a little but not enough. The other issue I had was the zone 2 hook up. In order to hook up my patio speakers on zone 2 I would only be able to run a 5-1 speaker configuration. Tried to contact denon emailed some questions about hooking up the patio speakers they didn’t answer my question asked for my answer never heard back so I returned the denon and bought a Yamaha . I guess stick with what you know!!

We're very sorry for the poor experience and hope that you consider Denon again in the future.

So far a very good system. It works with Sonos and airplay. I have it set up in a two zone system that has been a little bit hard to figure out. I downloaded the owners manual because that was the only way to find out how to set up a two zone system. But it has great sound quality.

Love it. I got it because it supports 4k @120fps output that the PS5 and Xbox Series X will have. And course I wanted it to support Dolby atmos. Very happy with the sound that this produces, and my speakers aren’t that good but I can still hear way better sounds with this receiver.

Surround Sound without the extra cables. No more need for fiber optic cables. Makes for very clean, immersive 7.2 Surround Sound. With a larger tv its like being IN the movie.

Not as many features as my old Yamaha but my old Yamaha didn't have the newer formats like Dolby Atmos. The app is super cool. you can control all the receivers settings through the app. Blu-toothing my headphones to it is cool too.

Great product. We have a small room with 5.1 set up and the testing mic was awesome. We have great sound. The HEOS app works great. We also run a zone 2 upstairs and that sounds wonderful as well. Can watch TV downstairs and listen to music on zone two. really wonderful.

Love love love our new Denon!!! Wasn’t familiar with the Denon brand but have found that it has superior sound and ease of use. We did gest the geek squad to come install it which was also a big plus!!!

I needed to be able to pass through HDMI audio to Zone 2 and this was the best option for me. Not a lot of buttons on the front of the receiver, but overall, does the job.

This is an amazing receiver, coming from and older Onkyo TX-SR606 this is worlds better. We have a Klipsch Dolby Atmos surround system and this pumps those speakers to their fullest potential. Highly recommended!!!

Highlight of the home is the theater room now. This Denon unit drives the whole thing. The sound flexibility and customization is huge and it’s extremely intuitive with the other components.

I have always had a receiver but my current one was to obsolete so I purchased this one and very happy with my decision it may have been a bit pricey then others but th ease of use and connection to my surroundings sound and tv was great.

If you are looking for 4K videos then this is for you. Surround sound has my dogs so confused trying to figure out what’s going on. Only negative thing is that SiriusXM stops playing after a few hours and says it doesn’t play to a empty room.

I had someone from Best Buy come to our house and set this receiver up for me. It worked great while he was here and for about 2 hours after he left. That's when the trouble started. The remote wouldn't work, the receiver went into protect mode, and even the power button would not shut it down. I sent it back via UPS (which worked great) and bought an AVR-X2700H receiver instead. The new receiver has worked flawlessly and I couldn't be happier. I now have 3 Denon receivers in my home from an entry level AVR-X series to the flagship AVR-X. I would recommend spending a few extra dollars and buying the AVR-X series over the AVR-H series. Best Buy made it easy to return the old one and shipped the new one very quick.

We're very sorry for the poor experience with the S960H, but we're glad that you're content with the X2700H.

A complex machine that manages all of the audio and video signals. As an old guy, I am accustomed to amps and preamps and tuners all separately doing this. The sound and video are great

So far it does so much more than my other amp to control by 7-2 home theater and power speakers for sonos.. After just a short time I am happy with this receiver. I had Best Buy set it up.

Fairly easy to setup and configure, the accompanying app doesn't work as advertised though, making one of it's features (play through Amazon Echo) non-functional. If this feature had worked, I would've given it 5 stars

I have this unit hooked up to my Klipsch surround sound. It sounds great but it heats up and turns off. I may take it back and upgrade to a bigger unit
