Customers highly value the AVR-X2700H's sound quality, ease of use, and straightforward setup process. Many appreciate its powerful performance and consider the price reasonable for the features offered. While some users experienced HDMI connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on the sound and user-friendliness outweighs these concerns. The HEOS app and 8K compatibility are also frequently praised.

I found that this receiver has excellent channel discrimination and clarity. While my speakers are rather dated, they responded with improved sound flow through, and the woofers are rich without clipping. The room volume in my 8 seat home theater, and the picture on my 85" Samsung stood up to the test. Geek squad did the setup. My test disc was the 4K F9.

This is kinda complicated to set up. Speakers didn't work once we were done. Then we figured it out. Volume on Tv has to be off. Very loud. Love being able to hear.

Who makes an AVR with 4K HDR that actually works?

Previously owned a Denon AVR-1812 that performed well for 10 years until the AMP died. Chose the Denon AVR-X2700H for it's robust features and my previous Denon experience. This X2700H has been a complete disappointment and it's primarily due to the horrible firmware that does not properly support 4K HDR pass through. I use a 4K Apple TV as my primary source and my monitor is a 4K LG OLED55C9AUA (4K/60Hz) with all equipment connected via the expensive Blueberry HDMI 4K/8K 18Gbps cables.
HDMI upon connection upon power-up is unstable. When the system is powered on the Denon AVR frequently does not restore the connection to the Apple TV and my monitor displays the 'No Source' screen resulting in the requirement to manually change the source to my BD and then back to Apple TV.
HDMI consistent connectivity is unstable. Even when connected to Apple TV the Denon AVR will often lose the HDMI connection showing No Source' on the monitor however restoring itself within 1-2 seconds going from the 'No Source' screen to black screen and eventually back to the Apple TV source content. I've also had Apple TV HDMI source drop outs when switching between APPs or programs.
Overall this problem has now gotten much worse with the Apple TV consistently flickering on and off to a black screen randomly at anywhere from 4 to 9 second intervals.
Contacted Denon support and the advisor was ill prepared to assist me as I had to explain the HDMI issue multiple times. He first blamed the Apple TV and I told him I had connected the Apple directly to my monitor before I called Denon support and bypassing the Denon AVR resolved the issue. Then he blamed the monitor stating it was incompatible or had the wrong settings. I told him I had also contacted LG and they remotely connected to my monitor and checked all the settings with all settings reported okay. The Denon advisor then left the line to consult with technical advisors only to return and tell me I need to buy an EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) device to resolve 'HDMI Handshake' issues? EDID is a ~$65.00 device you can purchase on Amazon. My question to the Denon advisor was "are you telling me I have to purchase another device to make your $900.00 AVR actually work?" He replied yes?? I may try the EDID but my principles get in my way. Why can't Denon acknowledge these 4K HDR AVR's are not ready for prime time and get a firmware update issued? I have seen this issue in other Denon AVR reviews.
In my desire to stick with my previously trusted Denon brand expecting a resolution during more than a month of troubleshooting I am now stuck with this worthless 'high end' Denon as I have now exceeded my return period with Best Buy. My regret is that I did not wise up earlier and just return the unit for a refund. I may go in and plead for mercy and hope for some Best Buy good will.

First, let me apologize for the frustration. If I may, issues had stemmed from 8K and the bad chipsets "that have been resolved", are not typical with 4K. The usual suspects are affordable HDMI cables, which can be ruled out in your case. Another possible source would be long distance HDMI cable runs, over 40' or so. I have a possible solution you can try. Go into the receiver's settings.>Video>output settings>i/p Scaler and turn off. Shutting the scaler off allows the LG processer to do the work. Which in some cases is preferred with a higher end TV like yours. With that being said, when checking the status of the i/p scaler and find that it is already off, then turn it on. Lastly, try a different HDMI input on the TV. If streaming all your content from the Apple TV connected to the receiver and not using the ARC feature, try one of the none ARC HDMI inputs. I hope this helps.

Easy set up lots of inputs but NO TAPE OUT...
Need to use an adapter to use the extra HDMI arc output to change it to analog for house speakers and amps...
ANALOG is still important for whole-house applications...

Hello, the AVR-X2700H offers Zone 2 pre outputs. I recommend connecting the Zone 2 audio out to your external amplification. This option will provide you with the best flexibility.

Best sound from a receiver I've ever gotten. Stayed clean all the way up without distortion even with Sony speakers. Sony speakers are great, don't get me wrong, but they aren't a thousand dollars a piece speakers running ten thousand dollar speaker wire and I still had an audiophile tell me the system sounded great.
