First off, thanks to my expert installation technician, Michael; he installed and setup my Denon AVR X3800h as well as Denon CD player 600 NE. Previous receiver and matching CD player component was on all day with little warmth. I’m impressed with the build quality for high end receivers. I took one star off from the increased heat from two hours of operation of this unit. Also, for the price point, Denon must make a backlit remote for all of its Denon AVR x3800h products. Overall, I’m immensely happy with my purchase of Denon products.

The unit seems to have an issue properly displaying 4k120 over the zone2 output which is slightly inconvenient for me. Could be a bigger problem for others. Also have had issues with Bluetooth audio dropping out constantly but picks back up instantly when I press the source button?? It's the weirdest glitch. Otherwise this unit is awesome and impressive and worth it if you can snag it with 2 year financing for 1200 bucks like I did. This seems to be the most value for a unit that supports 11 channel 7.4.4 processing to take advantage of the widest available home audio.

Hello. Thank you for your feedback. It is much appreciated. To address your concerns - the AVR-X3800H's Zone 2 HDMI output is limited to 4K (as shown in the labeling of this port). To achieve a 4K/120Hz feed, an 8K port is required, which is where the Main Zone HDMI output ports come into play (Monitor One and Monitor Two).
With Bluetooth, there can be a number of reasons for reception glitches: Interference from other electronic/digital circuitries and various wireless feeds in that vacinity can be problematic for the Bluetooth receiver and/or transmitter, as well as distance from the original Bluetooth source.
Optional aftermarket Bluetooth receivers/transmitters can be added to any AVR using a digital or an analog connection. Not being immediately surrounded by digital processing circuitry or a large transformer found within an AVR can help with improving Bluetooth reception for an external unit.

120hz/4K, 60hz/8k, HDR, eARC, Atmos. It’s got it all. Sounds great. Smooth setup via UI, microphone based speaker configuration. No complaints.

Really like this receiver. Easy to setup and use. Sound is very good with our existing 7 speakers and subwoofer. Upscaling of video is also very good.

sounds great with easy setup. sales representative at best buy gave me a little pep talk about set up and it went great. I also added an a/c unit to help keep it cool so it will last a long time.

Although it has a ton of features and compatibility with many audio and video formats for me the sound quality wasn’t really present specially at this price. I bought this unit along with the Marantz Cinema 60 that cost the same. After running the Audissey room corrections and testing different movies and music in different ways I can say the sound quality is good but not great, I didn’t feel like it was worth it’s price so I put it back in the box and installed the Marantz Cinema 60 which really made a difference. The sound quality of the Marantz in music and movies is very superior than this Denon. I’m happy with the Marantz I don’t recommend the Denon x3800h at this price.

I really loved the receiver with my epson 5040 and other components like computer, 4K player, ps5 and others everything works great and even setup the 4 height speakers still new to add the middle for the voice of god as they call it. Now not so good with my Sony 295 4k for some reason I cannot video to work I get sound but no picture. If I just hook projector and ps5 works with video but no sound. Really stress about this it’s either a setting or maybe needs an update.

After my previous receiver quit working, I needed a replacement. Following several days of research online, I decided on the Denon AVR-X3800H. In its price range, it received consistently good reviews from its owners. With its step-by-step guide, it was simple to setup my surround system, PS5, CD player, and turntable. I've only owned the receiver for a relatively short time, but, so far, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase.

I recently purchased this receiver during the Black Friday sales event. My Best Buy membership gave me an additional $500 dollars off. This receiver replaced my ‘2010 Onkyo receiver. The Onkyo receiver was great back in the day but it has antiquated technology that can no longer keep up with my new Sony TV. My new Denon receiver is definitely a major upgrade especially when it comes to the surround sound and visual quality while watching movies. I am happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

This is the last receiver you will ever need. Denon has been making receivers for years and the quality and performance shows. Not necessarily cheap but a wise investment.

This has almost anything you will ever need. Lots of flexibility of use. Zone2,bi amp,pre amp, multiple LFE pre outs and many other configurations. Sound quality is surprisingly good for a mid level multi channel AV receiver. It will do everything for most people. Some two channel music enthusiasts will want better two channel gear like myself but I'm happy with my purchase. The downloadable manual is a little weak although so are most other AV receivers.
