    Phoenominal Product!

I can guarantee every single person who wrote a bad review for these headphones simply did not put the earbuds far enough into their ears. I did this exact thing; was appalled at what I bought, called customer service, they told me to make sure I had put the buds in deep enough and when I tried that I was blown away by the sound quality! If you do not do this you will get no mid or low level bass at all from your music like previous bad reviews say. The quality of these headphones surpass previous closed cup headsets I have owned. The lowest of the low basses can be heard with plenty of oomph and clarity. The mids and highs are crisp and don't sound like abused treble. And for under $50 these are a steal! They cancel out 100% of moderate outside volume when inserted properly. The different earbud sizes are nice, as well as the extension because the original cord really is only for those who workout with their mp3 on their arm. I only have two small negative comments - these earbuds take a while to get used to if you have never tried them before and can be a little strange at first or provide discomfort after extended use. And also you can hear the cord moving along your clothing if you are moving a ton. Might look elsewhere if you are looking for purely running/workout headphones. I find myself enjoying songs I had previously only been ok with. Overall I would rate this product as a 9 out of 10. I feel like I should have paid more for the sound quality and I enjoy the all black color. A wonderful product for those who don't like sweaty ears from closed cups and love to listen to hours of music every week!

    Great pair of headphones

When my old pair of earbuds broke, I spent a good time reading reviews and settled on the Denon's. That was probably the best decision I ever made. For the price, these headphones are amazing! I'm hearing things I have never heard before in almost every single song. The highs and mids are perfect. The bass is amazing, just the right amount, not too over-powering to where you can still enjoy all of the little parts of the music which makes every song very enjoyable. However, it took me a while to discover the amazing sound quality. Mainly because the different size earbuds were all to small for my ear in order to reap the full effects of these headphones. If you have larger ear canals, you will have to invest in some replacement buds that they sell almost anywhere. Once you invest in the right size ear buds your enjoyment will never end with the Denon's. Also, I wish that the cord length without the extension was a little bit longer. Mainly because it is almost impossible to use the headphones and put your iPod, mp3 player in your pocket without the cord extension. But, when you use the cord extension... the cord length is too long. It dangles really low and I always have that feeling that when I get close to something, the cord will get caught on it. But, the cord length without the extension is fine if you just plan on setting your music player in your lap or just carry it in your hand. The cord durability is mediocre. Seems like Denon could have focused on this a little bit more than it seems like they did. When you put on the clip that comes with the headphones, it is kind of difficult to put on. Mainly because it seems like if you don't put the clip on gently, you might end up damaging the cord itself. I'm not going to use the clip unless necessary for that reason. Overall, a great pair of headphones!

Excellent value for high end sound

I was getting near the end on my Sennheiser earbuds which I had owned for several years. While very durable and nice sounding, I wanted something this time that would fit my ears better and have more range. Since Denon has such a great reputation and these were near half the price of Bose, Klipsch, etc., I went ahead and bought these. I'm very glad I did. These are the best sounding pair I've ever owned and that's saying something since I've been buying earbuds for over 20 years. The dynamic range sounds just as specified (which if you check is much wider than the competition). Bass is punchy and highs are crisp & clean. I can't see any negatives on the sound quality unless you're someone who doesn't know how to properly wear these (and from what I see, most people don't). As others have said, a tight seal is REQUIRED in the ear canal to get the sound quality at its best. If you're having problems, change the tips until the size works, Denon includes 4 sizes so you should find a pair that works. I only wish the first cord was few inches longer. The extension is nice but runs long and if you carry a device around in your hand you're going to have some slack. The clip included helps and maybe I'll get used to that over time. I like the case but it needs a small spindle inside to wrap the cord around. To prevent tangling I wrap the cord around my finger and use the small twist tie that came with these to tie them up. Seems to work so far. Tangling is going to be an issue nonetheless. I didn't rate durability since I've only owned these a few days. The Sennhesier buds I have had have the set the bar very high for that!

These are the most comfortable earbuds I have ever had! I've searched for a pair of earbuds that I can wear for more than a few minutes before my ears ache...I've bought Bose, Sure, and Sennheiser's but none of them provide both comfort and sound. FINALLY...THE DENON EARBUDS ARE AWESOME! Believe it or not, I just returned from a trip to Japan...kept these earbuds on for the ENTIRE 13 hour flight and never had an issue with "ear fatigue"!! I was amazed! And the sound that you get from these little babies is outstanding! Very full bass retention...not overpowering in the least when listening to some of my hip hop tracks...but hits the highs and lows that you get from your great Denon home HiFi components. Denon makes killer home audio products...it's great to find that they can translate their talents to the small headphone category as well!!! I HIGHLY recommend these earbuds!!

I had bose in ear headphones and nothing can top those, but these are definitely up there. They have a nice bass to them, and sounds crystal clear. They are definitely better quality then mostly any skull candy headphone. If you look at the frequencies they can hit its better than probably ever headphone except bose. I definitely would recomend this to any friend just wish there was an ipod control. That's definitely key. But Im looking at next the Dr. Dre beats, they are more expensive have the ipod control they are definitely worth it, noise cancelling and all. But these are great if you can't spend the extra $$ and want good clear headphones A+ except the cord.

Wanted a relatively cheap but decent quality set of ear buds for travel, as well as to use around the house -- I have several Denon receivers and other components, so decided to give them a try -- sound is excellent, I was impressed. works well if ipod is in a shirt pocket or if you're holding the ipod while seated, but the cord length was an issue if you like to have the ipod in your pants pocket or in an arm band -- base cord just barely too short without the extension (buds pop out), but with the extension attached you then have 1.5'+ of extra cable to roll up -- clip kinda works, but made me cringe every time I clipped the really thin cables, seemed like they were going to break. I returned these and got the higher-end Denons with the 31" cords, because the sound of Denon buds is great, just an annoyance for me with the cable length on this particular model. If this is part of Denon strategy to get people to buy the more expensive models, worked on me lol :) might be OK for many users, depending how you use your ipod

I Use Sony MDR-EX55's for Fitness as the Asymmetrical Cord Design & Short Cord Length [With Extender Cord Adapter] Work Well for Upper Arm MP3 Player Placement. The Sound Quality is Very Good & the In Ear Design is Perfect for Any Kind of Activity. I've Been Looking for an in Ear Commuter Headphone for Awhile Now & Have Purchased Maybe a Dozen Models From BOSE & VMODA to Multiple Versions of Monster Buds Until I Found These. Fit & Sound Quality are Superior to Models Costing 3 Times as Much & the Dynamic Range on the Low & High End is Quite Nice for the Finely Engineered Electronic Music Cascading Down the Stream of Life. The Only Design Changes I Would Implement are with the Cord & Maybe Additional Colors, Otherwise a Finely Engineered Product at a Very Good Price.

I absolutely love these Earphones. The sound is so good and clear. They are by far the best Earphone investment I ever made. The Bass is deep and precise, the mids and highs are accurate and clean. And in my opinion they do sound good from Heavy Rock to light classical doesn't matter. I have a wide musical taste and they will produce every genre clean and very accurately. I have tried many different kinds including skull Candy Inked which are very good for the money, I can't argue against there value at all, but the Denons are more accurate. I also tried the Titans and thought they were very muddy sounding and all Bass, there highs were very week. I tried the Altic Lansing they didn't sound that good to me. There Bass was good but that was about it, and they weren't that accurate. So if you want accurate and great Sound try these you wont be disappointed.

This is In response to kfaulk1's comment. I had the same problem initially, no bass at all, ipod headphones have more bass, I thought. I almost returned them but then I decided to give it another try. It turns out there was no bass because I didn't have the earbuds all the way inside my ear. An easy way to test that is to lightly press on the earbuds when you're wearing them and see if that gives you more bass, if so, it means that they are not inserted all the way or you are using the wrong size earbud. Take the earbud off and try a different size, probably bigger so it seals inside your ear properly. Once you do that you'll realize that these headphones have a great dynamic range and superb bass output. Try finding headphones with a frequency range of 5Hz - 24kHz. You won't find many and this is very important. I love these headphones, for the sound quality they produce they should cost at least $100. I returned the $79 Senheiser over the ear headphones and Denon's sound quality is way better. I got these because a very competent sales guy at Best Buy recommended them. Thanks a lot man, too bad I didn't get his name.

As soon as i plugged these guys up to my PC sound card I was amaze.I listen to many types of music and find that these are quite acoustically accurate. They have a very robust base that extends quite deep but is not too punchy. The highs are very much present and crisp. This is all accomplished without sacrificing the mid's. These headphone are a fine introduction to a high quality listening experience.

I got the Denon AH-C360 headphones for Christmas. I plugged them into my MP3 player and knew if they were going to be any good they had to pass the ultimate test...the Double Bass kick and roaring guitars! So, the first song I listened to was "Never Lose Sight of the Goals" by For Today. The awesome double bass kick in the song hit perfectly in the headphones!! With each rapid fire kick of the bass drum resonating through my skull thus putting the biggest smile on my face. PERFECTION! Then I listened to the new Trans-Siberian Orchestra album "Night Castle." The head phones did a great job blending the guitars, orchestra, and vocals. "Lions Roar" was magical and the emotion of the song just bleeds into you! Then cranking up "Tracers" did no harm to the headphones...all the music came through perfectly!! The sound isolation on these headphones seems to work great. It is always hard to judge just sitting in a house, but not matter who loud I made my mp3 player, the music was crystal clear and putting me in state of Euphoria; which is what matters!! For $50 you cannot go wrong with these Headphones!! If you are not wanting to spend $300 for headphones, or even if you are, I suggest getting these...they will make you very happy!!

i have spent the last couple weeks reviewing headphones since i am going to need them for an online course i will be taking soon. after spending most of my time looking at pricier ($100+) over the ear headphones and not being able to justify dishing out that kind of money (i am a poor grad school student), a friend suggested i think about earbuds. within a few minutes of looking online at the best buy website, i decided to scrap the idea of bulky over the ear noise cancelling headphones. i came across the denon ah-c360 and most all of the reviews seemed very positive. so i went to my local best buy (i don't like waiting for shipping) to buy a pair. the worst thing i have found so far is that they were not kept with all the other headphones and earbuds- they were in the magnolia home theater section. i popped them in as soon as i got home and i am so pleased with the purchase: great sound, comfortable to wear, seal well in the ear canal ( i cannot hear the tv or the phone ring while wearing them). i would definitely recommend these to anyone who wants a quality pair of earbuds with good sound at a reasonable price.

To the previous reviewer, all i can guess is that your source is lacking the power to push these headphones. They have a much higher impedance than most earbuds. Especially if your using stock apple earbuds, infact im amazed you say they have.. more bass? wow. The drivers on these headphones are 13.5mm and in earbud land thats huge. And thus requires more power. Get yourself a Sony X series mp3 player and step away from ipod if you care about sound quality! The reason the switch is light, is due to the weight added by the battery and how much it will drag down on your head. I agree though they could have added a better switch and given a bit more heft. I purchased these headphones after my Senheisers started to buzz in the left earbud, and the cord started to separate from the jack. Even though I've only had these for a few days now, I am quite pleased thus far. Everything I have thrown at these guys they have continued to blow me away. The bass quality us incredible. The bass comes in loud and clear when the recording requires it. Then the clear high's and mid's kick in. I was lead into these because of my happiness with Denon's Hifi stereo equipment. I would without hesitation recommend these to a friend.

I bought the Denon's after trying four different pair for my 5th gen ipod. I was happy the minute I found the right size bud, which allowed a snug, secure fit. They are barely noticeable to me due to they have included buds in size XS. I couldn't find that in any of the other brands I wanted, plus I liked the short cord that's PERFECT for armband use. There is also an extension cord if you need it. The sound is great no matter what genre you listen to, an excellent blend of highs, mids, and bass. I play drums and use to run sound and these sound good! The sound iso puts you and your music in your own world and that lets me run harder at the gym. If you plan to buy a cheap pair, spend the extra... If you plan to buy the expensive pair, do yourself a favor and save a few. You won't be disappointed. If I loose them or break them, I'll buy the same ones again.

    Not What I Expected

((**REVIEW IS IN REFERENCE TO PERSONAL LISTENING PREFERENCE**)) I exchanged my faulty SkullCandy Smokin' Buds after the left ear started shorting out and I started my 'rounds of research for replacement. I gave myself a $50 budget to buy a good pair of in-ear headphones and narrowed it down to the Denon AH-C360's. I use my headphones for just about everything, casual listening, for my iPhone 4, etc. I had these for a day and took them back the next and here is why... Sound Quality: At first listen they sounded pretty good but lacked something my previous Smokin' Buds offered which was the low-end (bass) sound. These have exceptional highs and mids that deliver clean, crisp and pure sound. I am an aggressive listener and these headphones simply don't push lows like I wanted. They did sound a bit hollow and tingey with the music I listen to on my iPhone 4. Acoustically these are great, but if you listen to Rock or Rap genre music, you will be disappointed I think. On my iPhone 4, they just didn't deliver at all. I know that MP3 playback on iPhones are compressed audio files that limit "full effect" sound. So I plugged them into my Klipcsh THX amplifier on my desktop and played music from a CD and they sounded better, but still lacked bottom end. I would be using them about 95% on my iPhone so they just wouldn't cut it. If you plan to use these on a simple MP3 player (iPhone, iPod, Zune, etc.) I would NOT recommend these. Style: These look pretty good. Small, compact and don't really stick out far from the ear. I liked the "slant" where the rubber grommet is too. Construction: These seem to be made of plastic mostly. The wire is double-run all the way to the jack. It has an extremely short primary line (I believe it was designed this way to allow the user to put there mobile device in a front pocket of a shirt or jacket and the eliminate extra cord if you use an arm-band at the gym) which I thought was nice. The extension line offers a good bit more length and the jack on it has a 90 degree or "L" bend, which is good if you stow your device in your pocket and eliminates strain on the cord if it bends a lot at the jack. Overall I think they're well made. I mean it is Denon, c'mon!!! Comfort: They are pretty comfortable to wear. They don't offer a good seal around the ear canal though. Peripheral noise seemed to still be present and didn't do a good job "isolating" noise, even when I cycled through the various grommet sizes included with the headphones. I went back the Best Buy and exchanged these for the new SkullCandy 50/50's and absolutely love them. (See my review) I also want to note that Best Buy were great about taking back my faulty SkullCandy Smokin' Buds after I had them for a year and didn't have my receipt. They looked me up in the computer and printed out a receipt and happily made the exchange. Also, no hassle when I took back the Denon AH-C360's. Always professional. Always the Best.. (Buy). A+ service.

Nice package if you don't like to hear bass and mid bass, probably a good choice for video and talk show podcasts, but not for dynamic range audio. The stock apple earbuds have much better bass response. Plus the frequency response for denon rates a meager 2.88 from http://www.headphoneinfo.com/d/reviews/denon.htm I would strongly recommend against these - I liked the Altec Lansings better but they weren't as comfortable as the denons thats for sure.

Very upset with these. I currently use earbuds that were meant for a cell phone, and the sound isnt bad, I just wanted to upgrade. I thought $50 would be a good price for decent sound quality, not cheap, but not expensive. All the reviews sounded good except for one, kfaulk, and he is so right. These headphones sound like tin cans, absolutley no bass. Im going to take these back and probably just keep what im using. I would rather use the stock headphones that ipods come with than these. Im still floored at how bad these sound compared to what appple gives you for free with your ipod.
