John is beloved in the Baltimore area. He has provided a platform for LGBTQ issues within his own community.
He tried to use local actors (as much as possible) & shot in and around the Baltimore area.
Shot on a very low budget of $65,000 & he managed to "finally" catch the eyes of studio executives that saw some promise. This film does have a certain "sleaze factor" that all of Waters films do. :8):
He has donated Art to the Baltimore Museum Of Art (some his own creations) plus, some very expensive pieces from other artists. The bathroom area in the Museum is named after for him.
As far as the movie, ***
I would recommend this to a friend

Heavy on the camp factor. Love all John Waters films. Order a pizza and watch this...
