This game is without a doubt the most graphically gorgeous video game I have ever laid eyes on. The story is so immersive, interwoven and has so many options to explore by playing repeatedly. I am on my second playthrough, and it is still worth playing. Quantic Dream delivers on an amazing, emotional story, that is for sure. My only complaint with the entirety of the game is the movement system is still like Heavy Rain, and could've been improved upon to be more fluid. You eventually get used to it, however and it does not drag this wonderful game down at all. Just beware if you have never played Heavy Rain or Beyond: Two Souls, however, that Quantic Dream does not put out your average shooter video game. This is a game driven by story, characters, your choices and consequences. If you want an action packed shoot 'em up, you have to look elsewhere. In summary, this game blew me away in nearly every aspect, and the only way I could possibly love it more is a better movement system, but don't let it deter you or get you down!

This is easily a 9 or 9.5 for me. It's the first game i've ever played that made me feel like a mother... which is weird because i'm a guy. The story was excellent and the level of player choice was really very impressive. Decisions from early parts of the game continually impacted my choices and really made it feel like my choices mattered. I was also really impressed by how many scenarios had multiple possible endings so you rarely feel like you're being funnelled towards a certain objective. This is a huge step up from beyond two souls in terms of narrative and gameplay wise it greatly improves on heavy rain in terms of its smooth controls. You have to expect though that this game is primarily story driven. So don't buy it expecting lots of shooting or car chases. My biggest complaint is probably the box art.... like why david cage? why make such a great game and then choose one of the ugliest box art designs i've ever seen? This is one of the best games I've played so far this year and highly recommend it.

The game plays like a bunch of vignettes with multiple endings. It's David Cage Fanfare at its best trying to tell provocative stories within a video game. It's useful feature of being able to replay segments to see different outcomes is appreciated. It's a bit pricey in my opinion. Might be worth waiting for Black Friday to pick it up for 40 but it's worth it if you want to be a part of the dialogue about the game.

I love the decision making aspect of the game. This adds a level of replayability to see different outcomes. The graphics are really good and the story is well written with the different decision twist. This is a must-own game.

I'm not usually a fan of games that implement Quick Time Events as the main mechanic for the game. However, Detroit: Become Human engages the player so that we are not overly distracted by too much action etc. That's not to say that there isn't fast paced action in the game. You will have to play to find out. The visuals are amazing whether you are playing on the standard PS4 or PS4 Pro. The story is choices had me struggling with what I would normally view as simply good or bad. I learned that even grey areas of moral choice have consequences. I really wished that there was a way that the player could explore the rich and engrossing future world. By the end of the game, I felt the weight of my actions hit me. I played it again but the second time I went with the dark choices to see what would happen. I felt horrible. If you enjoyed any of the Telltale games then I think you will really like Detroit: Become Human. Happy gaming.

This game gets you hooked up from the beginning. You play as three characters. It takes place in the near future in Detroit where AI has been improved and robots are used as workers, housemaids, and any other jobs. People are angry due to them getting replaced in their jobs by AI. I this game you play as three characters. The first one you’re a deviant hunter named Connor who tries to track down robots who are behaving irrationally and either bring them in or kill them. You also get to play as a robot named Markus who tries to make a revolution so that robots can be treated as humans. The last character you play as is another AI named Kara who tries to take care of a girl from an abusive father. The games is based off your choices either dialogue or actions. There are so many outcomes of this game so every little detail matters. I definitely recommend this game

An amazing story about human empathy

In my opinion, Detroit: Become Human is a story about humanity and their concept of empathy, or lack thereof. The idea of a machine species, created by humans for a life of servitude, developing a higher intelligence and awareness that they should not be treated as lesser-than is a heart-wrenching and warming story that shows us what it means to be human. Through Kara we learn to love and what unconditional love means. Through Connor we learn about choice, and that we can inevitably choose our path in life and how it can benefit and/or hinder our growth as an individual. Through Markus we learn about morality, and the basic fundamentals of human decency. The choices that you make throughout the story affect the outcome. Lives will be lost permanently, and you must consider your consequences. Detroit: Become Human is an amazing and emotional experience.

I actually bought a PS4 specifically to play this game (as well as a few other highly anticipated 2018 titles) and I was scared I would have a hard time learning the PS4 controls. I had never played any serious games on a console of any kind before. However, I quickly got the hang of playing Detroit! I have playing it on casual mode but I find that for new players, it makes it easier to learn but still intense enough to be fun and exciting. I love the storyline of this game - the acting and character development is also fantastic. Even the smallest choices have big impacts on the course of the story and the consequences feel real. Not to mention how beautifully rendered the environments are! The graphics are simply breathtaking. Overall, I highly recommend picking this game up - don’t let a lack of gaming experience intimidate you!

    Amazing interactive narrative experience

This is definitely the culmination of Quantic Dreams' work to create an "interactive movie", reminiscent of older "choose your own adventure" novels. While it is not a difficult game by most standards, controlling the characters does feature heavily in the title - it is not something you merely watch (although an option that simplifies the controls is available for those looking to just enjoy the story). The way that the 3 main characters' stories intertwine remains interesting through the 15-20 hour playtime, although it does drift away from some of the greater societal questions of a science fiction novel to focus more on the character narrative. The themes of the story aren't terribly original, but the way that it uses the medium of interactive media to give you agency over the story feels incredibly fresh. The number of choices you can make, and how they impact the story, is staggering. I did not come close to seeing every possible outcome after 3 playthroughs. The graphics are also incredibly impressive and really push what's possible in terms of modeling real actors. I'd recommend this game to anyone looking for an interactive, narrative-driven sci fi experience.

I have no reason why people have a issue with David cage. He can’t be any more of a arrogant person as other developers. I loved heavy rain and indigo prophecy but he did have a misstep with beyond 2 souls. Well this game is the best of his games yet. David cage is the pioneer to this genre and did a excellent job with the story, narrative, actors chosen and gave a myriad of branching choices. There is no game in this genre that provides so many meaningful choices that change the endings like Detroit become human. I am replaying it now and love it more than the first play through.

I just beat the game and i loved every second of it. The ending was intense and satisfying and had my heart racing. Incredible experience. This game surprised me. This is by far cage's best and most consistent game yet. It still has that dumb goofy charm all his games are known for bit the story is more focused and detailed than past games. The flow chart is brilliant and they're are so many different choices and scenarios to uncover. I can't wait to get back to it! Well worth the time and money. Quantic dream are getting better at making these interactive experiences and unlike beyond two souls, they give you plenty of choice and consequences. Highly recommend playing if you like these kind of games

If you enjoyed games like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, you will love Detroit. I enjoyed both of these games and Detroit is so far beyond the previous two titles, it's crazy. The graphics are incredible (and some points I forgot I was playing a game. Those androids look so real!), the story is engaging (you can see after each chapter what path other players took and even see your friend's choices. There are lots of different endings and it's great to finally see a game where your choices really do matter. Some of the choices are extremely tough to make just from a moral standpoint and I had a hard time making them, but thankfully you can go back and replay chapters where you want to see a different outcome.

I understand a lot of people dont like games like these however, if your a fan of the telltale series, Until dawn, Heavy rain, and beyond two soul then you have to buy this game. No spoilers I'm simply going to state why. The story is so engaging you forget you are playing a game. I already passed the game once and I'm on my second gameplay to see a different outcome. Graphics I give a 10. Story 10. Gameplay mechanics a 9 because I did mess up a lot which caused a different outcome. Be careful when finding clues and following the button sequence you need to push. I 100% recommend this game and i really hope we see a sequel to this particular storyline.

This game is slightly different from the games that I normally play, but do I regret buying this game? The answer to that is heck no! You get to play three different characters along this story and journey. My only downside to this game is I wish it was a bit longer and you get to control the characters a lot more instead of a selecting your options of what you think that character should do. The cool side to this game is that when you do complete the game you can play it over again for a different outcome depending on your selections that you choose for the characters. This is a must-have game if I say so myself.

I don’t know if you can call an “overly anticipated” AAA game a sleeper Hit, but I know many including myself expected this and God of War 4 to be alazily put together quick time event game to cash in on the nostalgia and new IP market. Is that a thing, I don’t know lol. But it far succeeded my expectations. Even though GoW4 is vastly more surprising in that vein, and this is s branching story/QuickTime game, it never feels unsatisfying since the story really is compelling. If you’re in the market for some more laidback gameplay for a change of pace I highly recommend this title!

    A rare gem...

This is one of those rare games that I give 5 stars too. Much like the developers other titles, the line is sort of blurred between "game" and "cinematic experience". The story kept you engaged and every choice you made had a consequence...sometimes completely different than what you anticipated. Although the developer suggested you do at least one playthrough without restarting from a checkpoint, I did redo one section of the game I believe, because I just couldnt accept the outcome that I had created. But for 90% of the game I accepted my initial choices and consequences and was able to get an ending that I was happy with. For me personally, I'm good with that, and don't want to change my experience, so i'm not replaying it. But for some folks with a morbid curiosity about "what if...", the game could easily be played through several times with drastically different outcomes, even permanent deaths of any of the 3 main characters. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game, was totally absorbed in the storytelling, and was almost sad to see it come to an end. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is looking for something with some real meat in the storytelling and substance departments. It will really force you to think and asks some very controversial questions about what the definition of life really is.

Strengths: -Amazing graphics and presentation, with some wonderful shots -Interesting branching choices, with different outcomes -Excellent motion capture work and solid actor performances Cons: -Story is a bit recycled from sci-fi genre as a whole -Game camera can be really irritating as it uses the same button as certain object interactions -Short-ish game (around 7-8 hours). Replayability, however, softens this minor complaint due to the different choices you can make throughout the game that change its course -Gameplay can be somewhat uninteresting (just know you are buying something that works more like cinema than game) Overall, I had a good deal of fun with it, but you have to be into this kind of game. Think TellTale games. If you like those, you'll probably like this.
