No need of sugar coating history. This one is edgy, and not for the faint hearted when it comes to race in America. Historical intro was well done and simple. I wish everyone would stop being so sensitive and fragile that they cannot view history and learn from it. Resorting to violence and hatred will not solve problems in the future. Now we have first amendment rights; let's use them in a positive manner to make a better future.

This movie left a bitter taste in my mouth because of the realness of it. This movie was based on true stories in Detroit. Haven't anything changed for the better, if anything it has gotten worse. Because of the darkness of your skin or you belong to black race you can get arrested, false claims filed against your innocence, and more so lately you end up dead and innocence.

ALSO NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!!! EXCELLENT STORY TELLING THAT WILL LEAVE YOU IN DISBELIEF THAT THIS EVENT COULD EVEN OCCURRED. IN 1968 I WITNESS CHICAGO RIOTS AND THIS FILM MAKES THEM SEEM LIKE A WALK IN THE PARK.

I think that "Detroit" was one of the greatest and inspiring historical films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite historical films of all-time. I was really excited to see this film in theatres and I immediately enjoyed this film. I also think that "Detroit" had a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable drama including really amazing and original personal/political storylines.

The action in this movie was great and the actors and the director did a phenomenal job at making a great movie..

Detroit is based on actual events of the 1967 social rebelion (riots) directed by Oscar winning director, Katherine Bigelow. Begins with actual footage of the arrests of participants of a "blind pig" which sparked the violence. Then it recreated the Algiers Motel "incident". This is derived from the book written about a group of black men and their white girl partners.

Movie is ok. Blu-ray quality is solid. Digital code was expired so buyer beware.

Such an interesting story captured on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital. You can't find it any better. The convenience is worth the money, and you never have to worry if your best friend is "old school" or too tech-savvy. You have all the bases covered. You will want to watch this one again and again everywhere you go!

This movie is ok if you want to watch something long and drawn out.

You are always on the edge of your seat watching this histotical event. Although it was impossible to recreate the actual happenings this film attempts to present things the way they actually occurred. It is shameful for our country to act this way. This film is great!

This story about social injustice during the Detroit Riots of 1967 is a perfect mirror for the struggles we face in society today. This Blu-ray movie arrived much sooner than expected. Thank you, Best Buy!

Great powerful film that showcases the racial trauma that the US was built upon & continues to infiltrate in society. Hope people watch & learn & open their minds to the systematic injustices.

This movie taught me more than I could have ever imagined. Based on a true story, this movie is relatable to the times we are living in now. You will definitely be googling more about this story after you are done with this movie.

It's been a few years since 8 Mile that a movie about life in Detroit has been released. Although Eminem doesn't make an appearance in this one, you can still feel the raw power and emotion that is displayed within the City of Detroit.

Was a very informative and powerful movie. For those that were not born during those times. The old saying is if you don’t know your history then you are doomed to repeat. And in this day and age we are during just that.

This was a really good movie because I was getting so mad that’s how I know it’s a good movie. But I honestly can’t believe that, that’s how everything was back then :( anyway, the disk was great & the price was great as well! :)

If you are one that looks back at the rough time Detroit has had, then this is one to watch. Helps you see where we were back then and were we are now. Much has changed, but still room to improve our world.

While this is said to be a true story, it can also bring out the anger in a person when you see how the white cops did those black youth and no o e was bold enough to speak up for them. Those were somebody's children and they were beaten badly and killed for nothing just because The white man was in power and could lie his way out of murder because of who he was. Black lives did'nt matter. It really made me angry to watch it. I feel like I wasted my money on this one because I didn't ever see any justice For these black people. I am black and it really rubbed me the wrong way. You say it's just a movie, somebody lived this.
