Excellent quality blu ray of classic Beatty/Madonna movie

The movie dick tracy is a really good movie. Set design and costumes are right out of the comics. The issue is that if you order the blu ray with digital copy you do not get the digital copy. I had to call best buy support multiple times. First time they said they sent the wrong movie and had it resent. Second time i was told that the version with the digital copy was discontinued and they didnt have it anymore. They said it was an issue with the website and offered me a 5 dollar credit if i wanted to keep it. I kept the movie since it is a great film. But if your interested in the digital copy do not buy this version as you will end up disappointed and tired of the run around.

I thought this was out of print. Great find. $10 bucks.

This movie looks great on bluray. A classic for sure

One of Warren Beattys great movies from the late 80s or 90! I like watching this movie a few times during the year so I don't get sick of this great mafia classic. Sad they don't make movies like this anymore but I guess the art died with the 80s or early 90s. I'm not sure I would want to see a remake of this now if there ever will be. The beauty of this movie can't be matched now, how movies are! 80s and 90s movies had a certain beauty or art to them. Why Gene Wilder never wanted to be in movies after 2000, didn't feel the same to him! He did quote that once!

I loved Dick Tracy when it came out. Saw it in theaters more times than I can count. Once I saw it was on blu-ray, ow cold I not buy it? The transfer is great, the colors are vibrant and the blacks aren't crazy milky or off. 5/5 Audio is great too. Really can't find any complaints about it, everything is clear and the explosions and gunfire sound better then I remember on DVD, so thats a plus. 5/5 Extras....non existent. Which is saddening, but that could just be me and others that like the supplementals on discs. Other than the extras, this is a fine release, with great audio and visual transfers. Even Al Pacino's sometime over the top performances are great nostalgia for fans.

One of the best early comic strip movies. It definitely keeps to the style of the 20s noir visual style. Need Beatty and Al Pacino were great as Tracy and big boy caprice

This was a family fun movie with very cleverly make-up artistry to make the human characters look like the characters that they represented in the comic version of Dick Tracy. Of course, Dick Tracy was the handsome detective who was always a step ahead of the criminals. Background settings also were cleverly done. Don't forget the popcorn too!

Everything about this movie is first rate: the acting, the casting, the overall look of the movie. The colors are bold, just like you would want in a comic book cartoon . The bluray reproduces all this better than the old DVD did, just as you would expect. A special bonus is the high quality music composed by the great Danny Elfman,with songs by Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim. Madonna does a good job with her acting, not just her singing. This is a fun entertainment. So why only 4 stars? Al Pacino's overacting gives me a headache. But that's just me.

The movie is great, that is why I bought it So I won't go into that. But if you're wondering if this blu ray version is the one you might want then you might want to think again. I think they got lazy with the transfer. I know the movie is old, but some scenes were blatantly ignored to fix up. It's like intercutting a movie between blu ray quality and vhs quality. But since I don't think there will be any update to this film anytime soon You might as well pick it up if your vhs breaks.

Warren Beatty (Dick Tracy) must stop “Big Boy” Caprice (Al Pacino) in this film inspired by a pulpy comic strip. Madonna takes on a secret identity to get revenge on the gangster who has ruined her life but has she resorted to tactics that are worse than the mobsters, which she despise?

If you're in the mood for a cartoon based live-action flick, Dick Tracy might be able to scratch that itch. The characters are a who's who of the A-list in 1990, and the make-up and costuming are perfect. The story that this film was wrapped around is pretty predictable, but good enough to pop up some popcorn and settle in.

Revisit this classic and often under rated movie from Disney that brings Dick Tracy colorful cast to vivid life in true high def. Betty's performance is great along with a who's who supporting cast. Definitely worth the upgrade to blu ray or a first purchase to those discovering this classic for the first time. Would have given 5 stars, but this copy no longer comes with digital copy.
