It's nice to be able to charge batteries outside of the camera. It charges two batteries via any USB power supply. When we are out on long hikes far from a normal power supply, I use my Milwaukee Tools 12 volt batteries to recharge my GoPro batteries. It's a great lightweight option that easily fits in even the smallest backpacks. I like that each battery port has a charging indicator light. Red means it's charging, green means it is fully charged.
