Bought tis as a reasonably priced backup batter to my dslr camera. I enjoy taking lots of photos and playing with the settings to get multiple perspectives of the same shots. This means tons of photos to eat up the battery. I picked up an extra battery to ensure that I hopefully never have to reduce the shots and persepcives i am able to capture when on long trips between avaialbl outlets to charge. For instance last year I went to Washington state and spent an entire day driving around Olympic National Park. I stopped and many scenic spots and took tons of pictures. Didnt have to worry about the battery because I had a backup.

I just recently photographed a party and for the first time my Canon battery was not 100% charged! It took over an hour for my battery to charge missing valuable moments of course. I purchased this battery as a much needed backup. The packaging states I should get about 400 photos from a fully charged battery! My Canon does well over 2000 on a single charge. We'll see...
