Got my Stiletto about a month ago and love it. Have not experienced any overheating although it does get pretty warm. I have trouble with the car kit as it does not always work and I can't figure out why. Trying to get through to Sirius tech support teaches one a lesson in patience as it takes forever to get through if at all. The earphones with the antenna are extremely uncomfortable, I mean what were they thinking! I am using the unit in the boombox and I found the antenna that comes with the unit is not that effective so I ordered the bigger antenna but have not hooked that up yet. I do like being able to take the unit out of my vehicle and then use it inside in the boombox, which has a very good sound.

I have had this for 7 weeks and the reception is terrible. The unit gets so overheated so quickly, it will shut itself off and you have to hold it to the a/c vent in the car to cool it down. I take it inside me everywhere I go and it still won't come on everytime I put it in the car kit. The Stiletto 10 comes with a carrying case (a thin nylon bag), but the more expensive Stiletto 100 doesn't have that luxury. I have yet to mount it because the vent mount only works on certain cars, and the other mount is a sticky one and I am scared it will not hold. I previously had a Sportster Replay and this Stiletto doesn't have have some of my favorite features from the Sportster. There is no Seek function, although you can just record the song and play at anytime. I have used this outside without a boombox or car kit and the reception from my front and back yard was horrible, so I had to listen to the recorded songs. If you use the big headphones, then you might get a better signal, but I couldn't stand those things in my ears for more than 10 seconds. Good luck, I might have gotten a lemon. I am very disappointed.

Good and bad things to say about this unit.
First the good:
Portable feature is nice, seems as maybe Sirius has been working on the signal. I notice it works best with a full charge.
WiFi is awesome! Although you do not get access to all the channels.
The ability to record favorite tunes and programing is nice. Allows to to store lots of music.
Display is nice and clear.
Now the bad:
Unit does shutdown when it overheats.
Reception on a FM station is poor.
No artist alert feature.
All in all it's a pretty cool unit. I would highly recommend the service plan on it though. I'm on my second unit. The select wheel went bad on the first one I had.

Great SIRIUS Radio

I have had my SIRIUS Stiletto 100 for about 4 months now (replaced the Sportster IR) and I am enjoying it thoroughly. Aside from the usual satellite radio channels, the Stiletto 100 offers up recording of songs (press the heart button). It then gets saved in your library. In addition, you can download songs/podcasts from your PC to the Stiletto.
Coupled with the car kit, it gives you direct number access to the various stations, it DOES NOT have this w/o the car kit.
The interface is very easy to use as you perform clockwise and counter-clockwise motions to navigate the selections. You also have back and home buttons to make things easier.
If you are looking for a portable SIRIUS radio you cannot go wrong with the Stiletto 100.

This is a great product, the recordability is wonderful. Battery life has a little more to be desired. All in all though, I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to take their sirius on the go.

Great product. To add on the review above. I use my Stiletto in 3 places. At home with the dock connected to my stereo where I have a outside home antenna. At the gym where I connect to their LAN. Then in the car. The stock car adaptor does stink. Here's the fix. Spend the extra few bucks and get the direct FM adaptor that goes right into the back of the radio's antenna recepticle and it works amazing. I can't comment on the reception while outside because I set my Stiletto to record my favorite channels in the home dock while I'm sleeping so then I just play it while running. I use Shure sound isolating earbuds and the sound is perfect with the recorded music.

Not Bad At All

First let me say one thing. Everything you read about the car kit being worthless is TRUE! The car kit is horrible.
The Stiletto itself I have had about 2 months now. First I will point out some of the things I do not like.
1. The headphones. The satellite headphones are not comfortable at all. I am not sure who designed these things but my ears actually hurt if i wear them for a long period of time. I also do not care for the other set that comes with the unit. Just spend the money and get some bose headphones.
Other than that I really have no complaints. Reception is great probably 80% of the time. Although with out the satellite headphones my reception works maybe 20% of the time and I live in an open area with nothing blocking the unit.
Battery like is really good. Just make sure you turn the unit off and not just put it in sleep mode.
Love being able to touch a button and record the song/program i am listening to. Really easy to use.
The car kit is so bad I still pay for my other xact that i keep in the car.

I REALLY loved this product, however when I bought it after doing much research; I found out that I still had to buy the home and car kits to make it work, or a WIFI for my house in place of the home kit. So even though it says it is portable that is only if you use it with the provided headphones. you can not plug it into your stero with out the home kit so the concept is there but the technology just hasn't caught up yet. still a great value for a satellite radio.

I purchased the stalleto because I love satelite radio. It is a great product although I would revisit the head peace with the satellite. This pice is a little heave and bulky.
I always get good reception and it is great to get out of your car and continue to listen to your show.

I love being able to listen to MP3s or satellite radio (and sat. radio recordings) whenever, wherever.
The engineers could have spent more time on the antenna headphones. Their current design is painful to wear!
Having to purchase two separate set ups for home and for auto is silly but typical for satellite radio systems. I would have hoped that Sirius would come up with an all-inclusive set up since this was intended to be a mobile solution.

Great product. I love Sirius and this radio helps me get as much radio as I can for my subscription fee. I am able to record shows while I sleep and listen back to them throughout the day. I get reception everywhere, but if you don't, you can pick up the radio on your wifi network. You can store you own music, and save your favorite songs that you hear on the radio. Couldn't get any better. A little more storage space would be nice though.
