    Best Ralley Game Out

I am a huge racing fan and thus love racing games. I guess I had known about Colin McRae's death but somehow I seemed to have not really noticed when It happened a few months ago cause it had to have been in one of my car mags I get but I was reading an article that mentioned the tragidy recently and it finally hit me. I know this is a little off topic but its what got me to look into his helicopter crash and realized he had just put out another ralley game for PS3 or (codemasters did). ANYWAY I decided to rent this game which is part of McRae's ralley game series even though it doesn't mention him on the game. At first I wasnt thrilled with the gameplay, however I was happy with the realisim of the graphics and the damage. The handling of the car especially the Grande Punto in the beginning seemed hard to control when running the ralley stages. But once I learned how to drive the cars the right way I fell in love with the game. The trick is you can't be balls out (obviously) you really have to squeeze that trigger (R2) and modulate the gas and be quick with the steering and the game takes on a whole new feel. The car started to respond better and not get out of control and spin out into a tree. Also listening to your co-driver in the ralley events is essential for quick stage times. It is really crucial to keep your ear on him so you know what gear to be in at what corner and to warn you of tight turns. If you move the view so you just look out over the hood of the car and get into the co-driver notes the experience can be a real rush when you run a good smooth on edge stage. It really is the best ralley game out anywhere and one of the best racing games out right now period. I have the PS3 Formula One game and this is way more fun and MotorStorm is a joke compared to DIRT. Give it a try!

    Amazing level of realism

I am into simulations both in games and professionally in physics; and while I can see some aspects of how they try to ensure the driving is not too difficult or frustrating it is still an extremely detailed and accurate simulation of a Rally driving experience. I am especially amazed by how much realism they put into the interaction between the vehicle and the surround obstacles in the environment like bushes, trees, guard rails, roadsigns, fences, rocks, logs, and any other debris on or around the track. That includes bits and pieces of other cars that sustain damage during the race. I mention the damage modeling here almost as an aside but the only word to describe the detail and depth of the accurate simulation here is Awesome. You have to see it to believe it - I would recommend this game to any driving sim enthusiast.

    DiRT -- Who's In, Who's Out

For me, I found this game a blast, my friend's all seem to gather around the plasma and just sit right down and share the controller as well play the game. It'd be nice if there were a spit screen feature so that we all could try to play together, but there is not. Even though there isn't a split-screen, there's multilayer -- Multi-player may take some time for some people to get used to, the options are not set up as good as most other games out there; once you do get passed the annoyance of setting it up you are taken back by how fun the game can really be when you are challenging other's from around the world. Over all, I'm in when it comes to this game. It has few flaws but in the long run, my friends and I have all enjoyed it! Good Luck and Enjoy the game!

    Awesome Racing!

This game is pure driving fun. So far the best racing game I've played. There are other games with flashier settings and all kinds of tricked out cars but this is the real deal. Anyone who get's their fix of adrenaline flying around blind corners and tight turns on gravel will love this game. Controls are crisp, there is no need to spend half your time upgrading your ride to compete. You like real racing? You will love this game. Beats Motor Storm and ridge Racer in my book. Buy this game while you wait on Gran Turismo!

If you like racing- this would be a game for you. The damage is realistic and so is the racing feel. If you slam into a wall, your window shatters. I found myself wanting to hit things on the game to see what i could destroy. DiRT also has levels of difficulties to choose from, work your way up from rookie to veteran, if your good enough. DiRT was a purchase worh while- but confusing trying to find your way around at first, You can just dive into a race- but you'll get the hang of it.

This game is incredible...if you have a wheel it makes it that much more challenging and fun… I have played this game both on the Xbox 360 and PS3 and the PS3 just looks plain better on my TV…game play was the same but stellar graphics…Keep these types of games coming. I have not tried to play the game with the six axis yet because I have a wheel but Any way you play it…your eyes will burn from staring so hard….. Get this game you wont regret it!

    DiRT ROCKS!

This game ROCKS! The races are pretty awesome, and have difficulties for any skill driver. The damage graphics are by far the best I have ever seen, and the vehicle choices are nice. The multiplayer isn't that good, but I never play the multiplayer. It took me only about 7 hours to beat it on rookie, but it may take longer on higher difficulty. Overall, this game is great!

    First game bought for PS3

This game was suggested to me from co-workers when I told them I got a PS3. I love playing racing games like Gran Turismo and Need For Speed. My favorite style is demolition driving. Yes this game is played on Dirt, but it is a lot of fun trying to take out your competitors. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves racing, dirt racing, or just destructive driving.

This has to be the best rally game i have played. I've been to the CORR races and the tracks look real. The selection of cars and tracks is great. The race physics are very good also. Anyone who likes racing should buy this game right away.

To me, this game is like the Rally Racing version of Gran Turismo. Difficulty settings for all types of players, tons of tracks and tons of cars. I look forward to a long challenge to beat the game in expert mode.

    Not a good buy.

This game adds to the list of disappointing games not living up to the PS3 expectations. I own a 1080p HDTV and this game only goes to 720p resolution. There's a demo for this game at the PS online store via your PS3, download that first. It gives you a good idea of what to expect from the full version. My advice: save your money for Gran Turismo (which will be in 1080p) or get Motorstorm (if you haven't already) or even NFS: ProStreet, which should be a step further than NFS: Carbon.
