LOVE THESE OLD COMEDY FILMS WITH THESE TWO GREAT STARS

It's hard to beat a comedy movie with Oscar-winning Michael Caine and funnyman Steve Martin. Caine plays a wealthy, sophisticated conman on the French Riveria whose turf is invaded by Martin, a low-brow US conman. Glenne Headley plays their latest mark. This is an otherwise very good comedy movie with excellent acting by Caine and Martin. However, I had two negatives about it. Negative One: once Headley appeared in the movie, I figured out the ending which ruined the ending for me even though it's really fun watching Caine and Martin in getting to the end. Negative Two: this is very subjective and maybe is unique to me, but everyone in this movie is a low life. Admittedly, Caine only cons wealthy women who he says got their fortunes through ill-gotten means, but he's still a conman. Martin has no reservations about his victims---he targets anyone and everyone. For entertainment, I wish there had been someone in the movie who is the "good guy" or have the conmen see the evil of their ways and repent. My two negatives aside, I highly recommend DIRTY, ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS.

A hilarious tale of two con men that meet up on a train and get into trouble when they both try to con their way into one womans heart. Steve Martin wants to learn all the tricks of the trade from an older and wiser Michael Caine, but find themselves in a bet where neither of them will see the final outcomes sly twist. Originally released in 1988 this excellent master blu ray copy brings back great memories from when I first saw it on DVD as child. Will keep you entertained (and laughing out loud) throughout. Great family movie, PG rating.

Wickedly funny performances from Michael Caine, Steve Martin and Glenn Headley make this 80's comedy timeless. Caine's continental con-man gives Martin's grifter a master class in sophistication, culture, European manners--and running a big con. You will not regret watching 'Ruprecht' hammering his pots and pans while yelling "Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma"--one of this film's many highlights. Glenn Headley is the love interest with a heart of gold--don't miss it!

Another great movie found at Best Buy! I saw this decades ago, and have been looking for it forever. The cast is amazing...Steve Martin, Michael Caine and the late great Glenne Headly. They don’t make movies like this anymore, with sly and subtle humor. Comedy today is so “in your face” and loud and crude, lots of cussing. This movie doesn’t need all the gimmicks to make it funny. So happy I found it at Best Buy!

If someone said, "Pick two people to co-star in a comdey," I never would have chosen Steve Martin and Michael Caine. But I'm sure glad someone did! This movie is thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. Chemistry between the actors is amazing, and there is a great mix of jokes and physical comedy. There's also a surprise twist at the end.

This is a film that was set in the south of France and I wish it had been set in America

When I first watched this movie as a kid I told my dad I would not laugh. That lasted about 5 seconds. This was a great movie and while kids probably shouldn't watch it as young as I did it is funny. The chemistry between the two actors is great and the Blu Ray updates this classic into a perfect picture.

Hadn't seen this film a long time, but had had a hankering to see it again. As fate would have it, Best Buy had it on sale just as I was looking for it. The pacing is a little slow compared to more contemporary comedies, but it is still fun and you can tell all three of the main cast seem to be having fun.

I made a purchase and had a Geek Squad session. The session was courteousand very helpfull. Purchas also courteous, and I left my billfold on the counter. They chased me out to the parking lot to return to me. Can't ask for better service than that! THANKS.

If you like the better of steve martins type of humor you'll probably love this. Michael Caine works well with steve and the result is comical. It takes place on the French Riviera and involves con men. Nuff said --or did you want someone blabbing on forever and spoiling the movie 4 you?----The Blue Ray arrived on time,for a good price and undamaged.
