Good Use of Kinect, Short Value Game

I purchased this game because it was on sale, made use of the Kinect, and I'm a fan of music and the Fantasia movies. The game has gotten more traction from my girlfriend than it has me (which is impressive to me because she hated the Fantasia movies), but here's my general picture of the game:
Plot - 3 out of 10 - I don't get it. You're the "Apprentice' helping Yen Sid (the wizard) fight the noise. Feels very forced.
Gameplay - 6.5 out of 10 - It almost reminds me of Dance Dance Revolution but for your hands. You have to swipe and perform gestures as they appear on the screen. The Kinect picks up these gestures pretty well, but after doing about 4-5 songs you start getting tired whipping your arms around. I'd compare it to actually conducting music, but the motions are sometimes so spastic that it doesn't always feel comfortable with the music.
Graphics - 9 out of 10 - It's a Disney production so it is going to look good. Very cartoonish.
Audio - 8 out of 10 - The song choices are nice and somewhat surprising for a Disney Game (Super Bass still has Nicki Minaj saying "Who the 'F' I is..." which is pretty obviously refering to the curse). My personal favorite aspect are some of the "remixes" that come with the game. They basically take the pre-existing song and throw them into different styles which bring out some of the best and "interesting" (to put it politely) arrangements I never thought I'd hear in my lifetime.
Summary: The game has a very weak story, but an interesting set of gameplay mechanics. It's not terrible and can provide for some fun time wasting, but I wouldn't play it for more than a half-hour in a single sitting without getting bored. The replay value is there, but not super strong. Probably better for younger children who just want to wave their arms around in front of the Kinect to slightly outdated music.

This was a lot of fun for the whole family. My 9 year old gets frustrated when the sensor doesn't always pick up his movements but most of the time he ends up kicking our butts when we all play. Not too physically challenging so even elder family members can join in. I would definitely recommend this! I love all the music and it's fun when the Classics get a new age twist to them.

This is a pretty easy to play and entertaining game for our little girl. She digs the music and the motion action isn't too difficult for her. Some nice visuals and a bunch of songs that she likes.

This game is one of the few games that really leverages the Xbox One camera. As such, if you want to get more use out of it, this is a good way to do it. I was expecting just the classical tunes from the Fantasia film, but there is quite a bit of modern music included. When you are conducting and hitting the notes just right it can be an exhilarating experience.

If you are a fan of music, this game is almost certainly for you. The concept is that you are taking part in the magician training that our favorite mouse was playing about in the one sequence of Fantasia. You take on the roll of magic apprentice. With the power of Kinect, you truly interact with the music and make it your own.

I have an 7 and a 5 year old that i know they are a bit young for this title but i figured there still might be a chance they may get in to it. unfortunately they did not enjoy it however i really do enjoy this title, it is very visually stimulating and does give you control as the conductor. Try it out!!!

I caught this as a deal of the day item, for 2.99. It is a kinect game and I am always looking for ways to justify having it. For the price it was a steal. Not too complex, but good for smaller kids.

This Disney game is unlike other Disney games of the past. Disneyland is fun because it is Disneyland. Epic Mickey series was a great action game. This one however is sort of like Disney's PhilharMagic. It is fun to be like Sorcerer Mickey (or Donald in the PhilharMagic). The graphics and minigames are a lot of fun, although your shoulders will get crazy tired. Overall, a great game for the whole family.

Bought this for my 6 year old nephew and he absolutely enjoys it. He's into today's music so it's cool that the game uses today's popular songs without straying away from the movie Fantasia.

Another Great Kinect Game From Harmonix

Harmonix (Guitar Hero 1/2, Rock Band, Dance Central) seems to get Kinect in a way that others don't. Their titles are always the highlight of what's out there. Fantasia continues that legacy.
I've always wanted to direct a symphony, but so far have not found one in want of a conductor of my caliber. Now I have a virtual one! Good times!

"Just Dance" for your hands.

I thought this would be a great game for my younger nieces and nephews but the motions are a little more complicated than I expected. It's like the game "just Dance" for your hands. You move from level, or I should say musical world to musical world, and wave your arms around, imitating gestures shown on the screen but it's not as intuitive as one might expect. Still an entertaining game with a decent variety of classical and contemporary pieces.

Although definitely not a workout, this game is a very fun and manageable way to get moving without looking (dancing) like a fool in front of everyone. It's very neat in the way this game is presented. It really feels as if I'm conducting the music.
