A good mix of gaming and collecting...

Disney Infinity is a great little game that mixes video-games and toys in a neat way that appeals to both my 4 year old son and me. My son really likes his Infinity Figures and the ability to switch them out as we play a game so that he can use multiple characters in one sitting. Just last night he cycled through most of the Avengers as we played. I like the fact that new figures are coming out all the time and they serve as a 'carrot' that I can use to reward good behavior, as well as provide an easy gift option for other family members when birthdays and Christmas roll around. It also has a Toybox system that has the potential of a ginormous Lego set, allowing a seemingly infinite amount of replay-ability for a single game. About the only downside to the game is that the Toybox system is a bit advanced and time consuming to use, and it is the only way to use certain figures, like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, who are otherwise unavailable in the other playset games, like Avengers or Monster's University. I really don't have the time to design a custom Toybox for him, but the fact that you can download other people's creations for your own use, and there are some pretty cool ones out there, mitigates that somewhat. One of the cool things about the Wii U version is the fact that you can download the previous version of Infinity, the one with the Monster's University, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Incredibles and a variety of other playsets and games, absolutely free. It works in Wii emulator mode, not as part of Infinity 2.0, and you can't use the nifty Gamepad controller with it, but it's cool none-the-less. So, if you're looking for a game that has a lot of replay value, expandibility and cool collectible toys, this should definitely by one of your first add on purchases for the Wii U, right after Mario Kart 8.

I bought this starter pack for my son and he absolutely loves it and can at for house. It's super easy to set up and the game at is good. I do recommended purchasing a regular controller. If you want to play with your chad and they are using the main controller(tablet) that is fine but, playing with the Wii remote and nunchuck is a bit harder and not as fun and easy. Give it a shot with the Wii controller and nunchuck and see, to me it's just a bit uncomfortable and tricky to get the buttons down packed.

The figures are built really well. The game is great and fun. I loved that it was on sale, but the game itself could have used more depth. Toy Box is extremely time sucking and I love it.

Just started to play this game. Another great family game. Its great that you can switch out a character at any time but you will find it a pain to have to keep getting up to do it. You'll also need to buy lots of characters because when one dies you can't use him anymore and have to switch the characters or start the game over. It also takes a new person some time to learn how to operatenit. The graphics are good and looking forward to playing more.

We loved the original 1.0 game so my daughter saved and saved when she knew this one was coming out in a few months, and here we are the first week and it really is a fun game. it's very similar to the first game. Game play is the same basically, the rules of using characters and toy boxes are similar too BUT this game is a fantastic improvement. There are easier ways to build in Toybox mode now, and considering my daughter is only 7, that is a big help. The characters seem to be able to do more too, but that could just be because they are superheroes! You can actually build buildings that you can go INTO - this is my daughter's favorite improvement as she loves to build new worlds and she likes that her characters can now go inside and she can arrange furniture etc (she's a big fan of HGTV so of course she loves designing). I think some of the game play in the actual playsets might be a little harder - we have struggled to get through some of the Marvel parts so far - but I actually think that is good, because when it's too easy for her in a game she doesn't want to play it anymore. Now she is saving for the Guardians of the Galaxy characters and playset as she loves that movie. If only Disney would bring out a Phineas and Ferb playset, she would be in heaven! Highly recommended for family play too - kids love to whoop their Dads butts, and my daughter plays this game better than he ever will!

We had the Infinity 1.0 and hemmed and hawed and buying the 2.0 version, but the Marvel stuff really swayed us. Once the price dropped, we really had no reason not to give it a go. It is a blast! We have kids ranging from 5 to 16 playing it as well as the parents, and the Marvel stuff is a great addition for the geeklings in your life.

The gameplay is improved from 1.0, and the price drop due to sales in anticipation of Infinity 3.0 overcame my resistance to what felt like buying the game all over. Truth be told, I'm hooked on the figurines and enjoy the game more than my kids. With the Marvel characters, it feels like there are more opportunities for parallel play and team work. If 3.0 is this much better than 2.0, it will be worth buying also.

The Disney INFINITY was a Christmas gift for my kids and it has been a blast for everyone. The kids are still trying to figure everything out but they are enjoying every minute of it. The only two draw backs for this game is only two players can play on one system and convincing the kids to turn it off.

I am really impressed at the whole concept of the Infinity game - not only considering game quality but considering the marketing concept. I have bought the system and now will be heading back out to buy more figures for the system. It's great fun and really versatile.

other than having to buy different character, would of given 5 stars otherwise, I enjoy the game play options of having different characters to choose from and the ability to easily change between them and play in their words. can explorer different words based on the set of characters you are playing with and upgrade them for more unique attacks and abilities

Lots to do within the game. Great 2 player because each can go about their own game or play together. My kids really like Skylanders but they have to stay together during game and arguments would begin as to who was to follow who. No arguments here.

This is our family's first voyage into the Disney Infinity realm. We had previous experience that we thoroughly enjoyed with the Skylanders Giants. There are more limitations with what Disney does with these games, i.e., only having playsets for certain characters and not being able to put just any character in a set like Skylanders. The best things it does though are the characters are easily identifiable and loved by children and adults alike so there is a huge draw there. The gameplay is easy to pick up. My 4 and 8 year olds started the game up and played through a level with little guidance from me. Learning about all of the characters, the vastness of the playsets, and even the wide range of the toybox should make for many hours of entertainment.

These are awesome...all of the Disney Infinity editions. They can be a bit confusing at first...my son was constantly asking how to navigate and what different things were for and I couldn't figure it out. Thankfully, you can't really mess it up, so it's ok to experiment until you get it right. We love to play this together.

Very fun to play. Just wish that I didn't have to buy a whole new starter set everyone they release a new version. Buy it for cheap if you can not worth $75 that it comes out brand new for. Don't recommend this until Disney allows you to buy game and characters without having to buy the entire starter kit
