I knew of this film before it was released, having traveled to Sri Lanka this past summer for 2 weeks. One of guides for the trip was Wofgang Dittus, the founding director of the Smithsonian Primate Research Station at Polonnaruwa. We were taken into the field and walked among many of the "actors", attended lectures and learned the inside stories of the making of the film. Wolfgang has been studying these primates for over 4 decades and proved to be an essential part of the film's success. We were not disappointed.

Video and audio are great on this Blu Ray. The movie is designed to be kids friendly but does include some real issues concerning lives and struggles of these animals. Not a serious nature show for hard core in that you will probably not find any new information about these animals if you are avid Nature documentary watcher. Few moments are rare footage that not usually seen before. The show is overall an enjoyable watch. Disney Nature also contributes fund from your purchase to conservation efforts around the world. That is a nice lesson to teach young ones also.

Monkey Kingdom takes you on a memorable journey as seen from no other viewpoint. Monkey Kingdom will make you laugh. It will make you cry. But in the end, this emotional roller coaster is worth watching. A great addition to the collections for any fan of Disney, nature movies and documentaries, and of course, monkeys.

What a wonderful movie for a family movie night The people at Best Buy went above and beyond in their effort to locate this movie. It was on my daughters Christmas list. Our family loves to watch movies together and this show provided excellent entertainment for everyone.

I absolutely loved this movie! The story was very heartwarming and full of big laughs and many tender moments. The babies were soooo cute! This movie can be enjoyed by everyone--from young children to adults. There were some sad events, but they were handled very well.

Never truly understood nor appreciated the culture of these monkeys. It is amazing how this culture has parallels to humans both good and bad. You find yourself cheering for the underdog. Disney has worked it's magic again. This is my second DisneyNature. I am a fan.

My daughter bought this for herself and she always is watching it. It's cute, well narrsted, but also a real look at what Monkeys are dealing with in their natural habitat. A great movie to get kids aware of what the future holds for the animal kingdom.

such a good documentary put together by disney! never disappoints. The first best buy i went to did not have the movie available, but they did locate and hold the movie and the next closest best buy for me. 10/10

Disney does a great job regardless, but this movie is real life with a little imagination. My Husband, 5 year old son and 68 year old father laughed out loud while watching this movie. It is not your typical documentary.

If you like animals at all, you should treat yourself to this movie. This reminds me of some of the very early Sunday night Wonderful World of Disney films and the times they showed how they filmed animals.

I have to be honest, I haven't seen this yet. But it's Disney...it can't be bad! We've collected them all and I'm sure this will be just as awesome as all the other Earth Day movies.

My daughter loves this movie and was excited to get it for her birthday. I couldn't find this movie anywhere else and was happy to see that Best Buy had it in stock.

My kids love this movie! They didn't even realize how much they were learning. The narration by Tina Fey is funny and the footage of the animals is exquisite.

Usually, I am not a fan of nature documentaries with a "storyline". However, this one is done pretty well. The kids love Maya, and Tina Fey did a great job as a narrator. We saw it three times already. :)

Excellent movie for animal lovers and movie lovers alike. Had me from start to finish. Great watching for the entire family.

Every year Disney releases a film for Earth Day and once again they did a wonderful job. Monkey Kingdom is a wonderful movie.
