This is how you make a movie for nothing (nothing by comparison). Made for 30 million when it looks at least twice that. Great sci fi movie. Steelbook art is great. The 4K pops. Dolby Atmos is awesome. Worth it.

One of the best looking 4K transfers for a phenomenal movie. This is how it’s done. What a knockout. Although Elysium and Chappie are also great this is just hard to beat. So glad to finally own it on 4K. Buy it now and enjoy :)

Excellent Horror movie. If you are particular on how you watch movies you will love this movie. I got the Steelbook version that has both blue ray and 4k versions of the movie. Also, extra special features that you can explore.

It's admittedly been a while since I've seen it last, but what a brilliant film! Blomkamp's best. Heard there is going to be a new one, but not sure if it's prior to this or after it. Either way, I'm down.

Great story and directing, taking a completely different path from most alien invader type movies. Fresh perspective that explores humanity's cruelty and compassion towards those that are different. Movie feels more like non-fiction than sci-fi. You'll be surprised who you're rooting for at various parts of the movie.

The steel book is great and I like how it looks. It is a great addition to my collection. The movie looked great and the atmos were also pretty good. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who has not seen it yet.

Wow...this thing looks amazing! I was a huge fan of this movie when it was in the theaters...bought the dvd and bluray...didn't think it could get much better...but I was wrong. The 4k transfer is Dyn-o-mite.

Before Elysium and even before Chappie Neil B directed District 9. The visuals are great. The Audio fantastic. The story wonderful. If you thought Elysium and Chappie were decent or even great and havent seen his first feature film, you owe it to yourself to pick this one up. Highly recommend it.

Neill Blomkamp's 2009 sleeper sci-fi hit still packs a punch even after eleven years. A smart mix of social commentary and adult science fiction, this film remains the standout in Blomkamp's career. Sony's UHD looks terrific, a big step up over the blu-ray release from '09. Recommended!

I saw this in the theater with dad...this movie rocked on 4K..The HDR kicked it into high gear..The Color of the aliens looked awsome..Including the blood splatter..I loved the artwork on the steelbook

This is definitely a different take on the alien movie concept. 20 minutes into the movie, you're almost convinced all of this is real. Fun fact: a huge majority of the dialogue was improvised by the first-time actor Sharlto Copley. Do your eyes a favor and watch it already. You won't regret it.

Already had the blu-ray, decided to grab this after it was on sale for black friday. Definitely worth the upgrade the visuals are improved significantly even with the film having a digital scan.

An intriguing well crafted flick from a new director. Well acted too. Love the visual effects. Great clarity on the 4K transfer. You notice the improvement right off the bat. This is a must own.

I love this movie and how it ties in with the others in this series! A classic trilogy! Well written and well acted throughout all three especially District 9 and the concept behind it!

I will admit the first time I watched this movie I didn't understand it and in short generally disliked the movie. However, after second viewing I found things in the movie that I enjoyed and it has grown on me I now would rate this movie as very recommendable..

I liked the movie when it first was released. The style of the way it was shot and the acting is great. It is a different sci-fi movie that makes you cheer for the non-humans.

I'm a sucker for Steelbook packaging for blu-rays and this one turned out great. Not to mention District 9 is one of my favorite movies. It's a smart, well-acted, hard sci-fi film that doesn't dumb itself down and explores a setting you don't see in science fiction often.

This was SO much better than I thought it would be. It's from the same writer as The Fifth Element so I figured it should be good, but it was really good! Some parts are pretty twisted, combined with aliens and some sadistic people and it's a wild ride!

An interesting take on racism in South Africa through the eyes of extra-terrestrials who are corralled to live in camps and mistreated, much like the blacks in South African history.

Better 4K then blu ray, this is a wild story I loved, great director, I thought they would have come back for him by now, you need to watch the movie to understand what I just said.
