Pretty much the same thing as the first, but improved. The music is great and the controls are still fun. Make sure you pick up a turntable controller to get the full experience. Just a lot of fun for something different. Make for a fun party game.

I like the Dj Hero and Band Hero Franchises. If you are into those then this will be a great game for you.

So i was playing this religiously until the Kinect came out, but I must say that i'm impressed !!! I owned the first one so I bought this because I liked it so much. DJ Hero 2 is even better. You can see that they took the time to fine tune it and give you more freedom to be the DJ that you want to be. Its easier to scratch, and mix. They also added freestyle sections for the above mentioned so you can scratch or mix however you like and get graded on how good it was and if you managed to remain in tune with the song. The tutorial is extensive and you can hop right in and do your thing. The mixes are sick ! I'm telling you, you'll be bopping your head especially when you get the hang of it and start doing your thing. Hopefully they release more mixes for it because this actually has potential. The added singing portion garauntees that you're gonna be tapping into you inner Karaoke spirit. It loads of fun and good for laughs ! If you enjoyed the first you should get the second. If you have never tried it you should go ahead and do yourself a favor and try it out. They tried to be as accomodating to everyone as they could when it comes to music. Some will like it and some won't. All in all, its a great gaming experience. Since they allow you to freestyle in certain parts of the game, the next step should be letting you freestyle an entire song. That would TRULY capture the DJ experience.

This is my limited review of the game DJ Hero 2. I say it is limited because my turntable controller broke after 3hrs of use. So I am unable to play the game until it gets replaced. So far the visuals of the start up screen are really bland. (Bright white in a dark setting is rough on the eyes) Limited char customization of DJ's (Pick a total outfit, pick headset, pick deck) When you do get into the game the visual camera ques and your character move and interact very well. challenges aren't difficult for newcomers and most of the music mixes work really well. Only complaint I have with the game is the music they chose for the practice mode ... it never changes songs so every trial you do you have to (in my case suffer) thru the same song at least 6 times to get the achievement, (12 if you don't skip the instructions). You have the option to set songs you like but no option to avoid the ones you do not like. As for the controllers ..... I was a little more that dismayed at the fact my white turntable controller broke after 3hrs on easy mode... The gunmetal turntable lost a nub on the bottom when I got it out of the box but some glue fixed that issue. The mic seems solid, I haven't tried using it in DJ Hero2 yet but it worked fine in Rock Band 3 without issue. Parting thoughts. The game is fun, let me be clear however .... GET A WARRANTY! and/or KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!!! Activision has a 60day from time of purchase warranty for controllers but you need your receipt for proof of purchase date.

If you are a fan of the first DJ Hero, you will DEFINITELY like....no LOVE THIS GAME! Graphics are very crisp and clear (HD), and the sound...you gotta hear it for yourself! The first one was a great start, but with this one, you have a lot more inside of this game! Great mixes put together with some of the most current songs out right now along with old school which makes this fun for any generation. As a DJ, I couldn't turn away from this purchase. Online gameplay is definitely a challenge playing against other players, but that makes it that much more fun! And when the downloadable content is available, it will be that much better!

This game is fun to play. A good game to own for the family.

ive played the first dj hero it was good but could have better. this looks alot better i mean it has a microphone you can mix songs and it has even more songs than the first.

Wow. I was impressed and liked DJ Hero 1, but DJ Hero 2 is incredible. First off, the red button in the middle no longer plays awful sound-samples, it actually plays sound effects relevant to the song. Second, the tracks are sweet, with really great mash-ups. I wish more big-name DJs like Armen Van Buren, Tiesto, Deadmau5 and Daft Punk had submitted there own mixes or mash-ups, but maybe their working on their own DJ Hero spin-off game like Guitar Hero did for Metallica. If you love club music, then this game is for you. I never really was good at Guitar Hero, but I couldn't get into the music, for DJ Hero, I loved almost every song.

All I know is the person receiving this for Christmas was happy when they got it. Not sure how they like it, but I am sure they like it.
