I have used this drone for 3 weeks now. First drone. Easy to use. Good safety features for beginners. Flying with goggles is amazing. I did not want to look at my phone while flying. This brings the experience to a whole new level. I've advanced to sport mode now and I am working on moving to manual mode. The replay on the sim-card is amazing if you place it in the drone. The sim-card in the goggle is not as clear. It is pricey if you want 2 extra batteries, carrying case and remote. I spent $1800 for all of them. The goggle battery goes out before the remote battery. I can go thru 5 drone batteries before I have to rechage the goggles. Overall the experience is super cool but the price is much more than I anticipated.

Theres a lot to talk about so lets get right in! If your interested in being able to get an immersive feeling while flying through the sky like a bird then you should give this new DJI FPV Drone a look! The Drone This new drone by DJI is an amazing accomplishment. It features different modes in order to suit any level of experience and helps those interested in transitioning into FPV a smooth process. First there are 3 modes to accommodate any type of flyer. N Mode In this mode you will have all of the safety features turned on and will assist new flyers to enjoy a safe and controlled flight. The drone has front ahead sensors to detect obstacles and will slow the drone down to a speed which will enable you to maneuver around or prevent a crash. The downward vision sensors and infrared will detect obstacles beneath the craft and also map the texture of the ground in order to keep the drone stabilized along with GPS lock. These features are found on most intermediate to expert drones and instill confidence in the flyer to have a more enjoyable flight. This mode caps out at 31mph and will help you learn how the drone reacts to the controller inputs. This is the mode that many will stay with if they are just looking for a relaxed immersive experience. ( There is also an auxiliary light on the bottom of the drone to assist the downward vision sensors in low light conditions ) S Mode This mode will give you more control and speed capping out at 61mph. You will get more thrills and speed but at the cost of the safety features mentioned above. This mode should only be used by experienced drone flyers who have been flying for a few months and should take note that S mode will turn off your sensors and the aircraft will not be able to detect anything infront or below it. S mode will be the primary flying mode for a lot of people, including myself. M Mode This is the mode that you will switch to for FULL MANUAL MODE. **NOTE BEFORE SWITCHING TO THIS MODE YOU SHOULD DOWNLOAD THE DJI VIRTUAL FLIGHT APP** The DJI Virtual Flight App is designed so that you can use the controller and goggles in connection with your smartphone and practice and get to know your drone before flying in the real world. This simulator is a MUST if you have never flew a FPV drone before and will help you understand what is required to fully stabilize the drone and fly it. I have used this simulator throughout the week and I still have a very difficult time keeping the drone level and flying it. The Manual mode truly is for highly experienced flyers. I think it will be a long time until I turn on this mode in the real world and for now Im perfectly happy with the S mode. The drone has 4 fixed propellers that are removable for storage. it also has heavy duty motors which make it very powerful and agile, responding to your every input. The build is nice and solid and DJI has made it so that you can repair most parts yourself without sending it in for repair should you choose to do so. The battery for the drone is quoted to last about 20 minutes max, but real world flying I was able to get about 14-15 minutes which is plenty for me and is a real upgrade from traditional FPV drone batteries. It also charges very quickly in about 50 mins from empty to full. Goggles The goggles are well built and truly amazing. You need to use a power cable that connects to a small battery pack that you can keep in your pocket. When I first put the goggles on I was amazed at how clear the video feed was. Not once did I experience a hiccup in the transmission and with DJI's new Occusync 3.0 you will have confidence knowing you have a secure connection to the drone when in flight. The goggles have 4 antennas that screw on and maintain this connection. They are also very lightweight and comfortable when your using them and the adjustable head strap is very easy to adjust. You have the ability to insert a Micro SD card into the goggles to record the Goggle view when in flight. The Controller Lightweight and great battery life, this controller also has a great design for button layout. You can switch between video recording and taking photos by pressing the camera button for about 1 second and on the left side you have a Return to Home/ Pause button. This button is very important as you can tap it once at anytime in any mode at any speed and it will immediately come to a stop and hover. This feature was designed incase you loose orientation to panic while flying the drone and to help you avoid any potential hazards. **NOTE the faster your fly the more time needed for the drone to come to a complete stop! The joysticks are also fully customizable and in Manual mode you will need to use the included hex wrench to remove the spring tension on the left stick so that it is in the down position by default. There is also a camera view angle button that will automatically adjust the view up or down depending on the speed your flying. The battery life on the controller is still full and dived used it a few times this week which follows suit with DJI's other controllers. The Drone also has customizable features such as camera correction which will remove the fish eye look in the goggles and your footage, LED colors can be changed on the drone body itself, the video codec, format and resolutions and much much more. For video resolutions you have 4K: 3840×2160 at 50/60fps FHD: 1920×1080 at 50/60/100/120fps and the maximum bitrate is 120mbps. To switch between videos and photos you can hold down the camera button on the goggles or controller for about 1 second. DJI also has some tutorials on their site to help you learn about the drone. Here are some links : Tutorial https://www.dji.com/dji-fpv/video FAQ https://www.dji.com/dji-fpv/faq Android Users visit here to get the latest app https://www.dji.com/downloads/djiapp I will have a video review on my YouTube channel soon and you can visit here to subscribe and hit the bell to be notified when that video is released. www.youtube.com/aluziontv Once subscribed you can comment and any questions you have I will try to answer for you. The only negative I can think of is that I wish DJI included a case or backpack with this combo package. When carrying the drone and goggles and controller and batteries and wires, its very difficult moving everything around and because the drone is so new case manufacturers won't have anything available until next month. Not a deal breaker but something to be aware of. Final Thoughts So I think this drone is truly amazing and the way DJI incorporated all of these features which allow anyone from a newly to an experienced flyer to be able to pick up this drone and go is awesome. I think they nailed it and I would recommend this to anyone looking to fly like a bird!

Most Fun I've Had Flying Drones

This drone is the most fun I've had flying drones. I've owned a DJI Mavic Mini and currently own a Mavic Air 2 along with an FPV tinywhoop drone from BetaFPV. And now this FPV drone from DJI. It's literally like you're flying like a bird. Tons of fun! In full manual mode, I've reached speeds up to 85mph with a 35° camera tilt. It does do flips and dives and power loops which is a must for FPV hobbyists. I do recommend flying in full manual at all times for the true "FPV" experience. Flying in Normal and Sport mode will create bad habits for you. I also highly recommend practicing in an FPV simulator even before purchasing the drone. They do have the DJI Virtual Flight app for iOS but I personally like the Liftoff simulator in Steam. I'm still getting used to FPV myself, I only have about 15 hours in the Liftoff simulator. Camera quality is comparable to a DJI Mavic Mini with a wide angle lens. Dynamic Range is average to good and the image is a bit too artificially sharpened for my likening. It does shoot in D-Cinelike which helps with color grading. But overall it's more than enough for cinematic shots. My main concerns are repairability. The only user replaceable parts are the camera, rotors, and top shell, which is not much at all. I did buy DJI Care Refresh because crashing is an inevitability flying FPV. However it is a well built drone and it feels tough enough to withstand some minor crashes. This FPV drone is more targeted towards the FPV cinewhoop market than it is towards the freestyle and racing FPV market. It can't compete in terms of performance to a homebuilt quad. However compared to cinewhoop like the Shendrone Squirt ($1599 with DJI FPV System and goggles) built by Rotor Riot, this DJI drone is a steal at $1299, albeit with limited repairability.

This is a pre-fligth review. What I like? A couple of things, 1. The weight - this is really important as it complements stabilization software to achieve a more desirable result than when there's a heavier reliance on software in lighter weight drones. 2. FPV - this is very useful withe respect to knowing where your drone is. 3. The range of connectivity of the control with the drone is much further than is possible with most other drones. 4. The different flight operation modes offers better options for different levels of expertise of the operator and desired operation. Out of box, the drone feels very high quality and simple at the same time. Not much assemly needed beyond what obtains with other drones. Looking forward to actual flight.

Fun. Really fun! I've been flying drones since they first hit the market, but have not yet experienced FPV. It's really immersive and addicting, and this package makes it really easy to get started. I had one hiccup: my account in the app didn't "bind" to the new drone properly. This resulted in a series of uninstalls, reinstalls, creation of second accounts...kind of a mess. And I'm not the only one to experience this. Once those hoops were jumped through, it's been smooth sailing. The drone is fast, responsive, and really super fun to fly. At first I wasn't sure about the non-stabilized horizon line; now I find it kind of pleasing. It really feels like you're in the cockpit, flying! It needs more than one battery. The battery charges quickly; but having only one is very limiting.

This is a great intro to FPV drone as well as one of the better FPV drones there are. It’s got great speed, great agility, a great camera and transmission to the goggles is virtually lag free. On top of it just being a great all around FPV drone the system allows you to eventually get into build your own because you can buy a camera that works with the DJI goggles v2 that come with the system. My only complaint is that unlike all their other drone packages this one doesn’t come with more batteries. I get they are giving you the goggles but come on DJI you should have tossed in at least one more battery pack into the package because at 12ish minutes of flight time per battery having just one is terrible. Also, the drone itself is a little loud.

This isn't a true FPV racing or freestyle drone. If you are an experienced FPV pilot looking for a race ready drone or a durable basher for flying through sketchy abandoned buildings, this isn't the drone you are looking for. This also isn't a pure filming rig. The camera with current firmware isn't as good as the latest GoPro. It is good (compares well to my GoPro Hero 7 Black), but not perfect. If you make money from filming FPV, there are better tools. So, who IS this for? - People just looking to have fun. People who have some experience with DJI GPS drones and want to try FPV. - Experienced FPV pilots who want to get their friends into flying or have a loaner that almost anyone can pick up and fly after only a few minutes of instruction (in normal mode!!!) - Anyone who just enjoys flying FPV to get that sensation and freedom from flight and isn't happy with how poor analog FPV looks. My biggest hope is that this drone is hugely successful and then there are compatible DIY components like the Air Unit that can work with the new V2 goggles and this radio. That makes the investment in this drone fairly minimal when you look at the cost of buying everything separately.

Perfect first FPV drone to grow into

The Setup Process: This was mostly stress-free. DJI has some great online content on YouTube both by them and by enthusiasts. If you run into some issues, then you will definitely be able to find a solution online. This is a recurring theme of this drone, the community support. Since this is one singular drone and all DJI FPV drones work the same, then all the content online about it is relevant to you. That’s part of the struggle with self-built FPV drones. If you run into an issue there is likely something online to help you figure it out, but it’ll be more difficult to find than for this drone. For that reason, the setup process with this drone is so easy. If you can’t figure out how to reach a setting or change some format you will find the answer easily on YouTube. The Drone: This thing is smaller than I thought it would be. FPV drones are supposed to be small so this is great. Putting on the props was easy, and the battery was simple. The gimble on the drone seems to be beefed up compared to their cinema drones. While its not a three way axis gimbal, it is borrowing the “Rock Steady” electronic image stabilization from the DJI action cameras. This makes up for the lack of three-axis. The drone is not foldable, the props are also not foldable. This just makes it more impact resistance and allows it to fly more solidly when you’re trying to go 80mph. The Remote: The biggest thing to say here is just giving DJI credit for constantly switching its remote design. Some people might see that as a bad thing, but I think it shows their commitment to getting it right. This is by far their best remote yet. The shape is so similar to a gamepad for a gaming console and that’s a great thing. All the controls are still there, gimbal scroll, picture capture, return home, to name a few. There were no compromises here, only improvement. The Goggles: I’ve never used goggles to fly a drone before so I can’t compare these to any other goggles. However, I have not had any issues with them overall. The image feels clear, they are light and comfortable. They have some manual controls built right into them with is great. My Complaints: My gripes against this drone are minimal. As a matter of fact, I only have one. There are too many proprietary connections. This drone came with a handful of cables and power bricks. Some of USB-C, some are DJI made connections. I understand why some have to be, like the battery to the drone. However, they could’ve still made a USB-C port on the battery to charge it. Instead, it uses the same proprietary port to charge it. That means if you forget your cable at home, don’t count on using your buddies’ extra cable, or a spare one in the car. Also, the cable from the remote to the headset is USB-C on one end, then a proprietary connection on the other end. I could be wrong, but that could have probably been both USB-C. Keep in mind, none of this is a deal breaker, I am nitpicking. Overall, this is an awesome drone. DJI made FPV drones accessible and less stressful. On top of that it's still a decent drone for catching cinematic shots. You won’t be disappointed if that’s what you want.

This drone is easy to set up, and to use, the only down side is that the battery doesnt last as long as some of dji’s other drones, but those drones cant do the acrobatics this one can, and with the goggles its like being on board for the flight! Love it!

This drone is so much fun! The combo comes with everything you need, except I personally like the flight controller which is separate. I would also advise having an additional USB type C cable for charging. As far as the drone though, the range is incredible in the picture is crystal clear 4K. Considering the size and weight it is extremely manoeuvrable and quite fast.

Well I have to say as always DJI always has great products... But by far this is the best FPV drone you can buy... And i just love DJI drones especially when they make this type of drone... Straight out the box it's ready to fly, thank God because I don't have the time nor the patience to build a quad... But now that I'm into flying FPV drones I just can't get enough... So yeah if your already flying mavics or any done from DJI your definitely going to love this one...

This little FPV drone is fun to fly and have crisp image quality. The battery is supposed to last 20 min, I haven’t seen anything over 7 minutes and I wish extra batteries didn’t cost over $150. The goggles are super sensitive to sunlight and will destroy the goggles with even a little bit of exposure to sunlight. I haven’t flown in manual mode yet, but the sport mode is plenty fast and I was able to go speeds of +60 mph.

There are tons of reviews on the new DJI FPV drone all over YouTube, and all of them are complete garbage. All of these people are concerned with their monetization and their audience/community engagement. You'll find glowing reviews and scathing reviews. Don't pay attention to any of them. This drone is powerful and fast. It is far more agile than other DJI or gps drones in general. The FPV experience is very different from flying a gps or camera drone. Flying in manual acro mode should NOT be done out of the box. Get the simulator first to get used to the very different flight controls. This should not be your very first drone purchase. There ARE different modes that make it feel like you are being led down the path to full acro, but I think the temptation is far too great to get in over your head too soon. If this is to be your first drone purchase I would strongly encourage you to instead start with the DJI Mini 2 or Mavic Air 2. Then revisit this drone purchase in a few months. If you've been flying for a while and are interested in a different experience, but you don't feel quite ready to build your own, this is for you! The ability to get it off the ground in a familiar way in Normal mode, fly it around like crazy in Sport or Manual (with the aid of an emergency air brake no less), and then pop it back into Normal for an assisted landing is insane. This thing has reinvigorated my love for UAV flight. The introduction to flying through the goggles has been an awesome experience. The introduction to tinkering with equipment to get my sticks set up properly has been an awesome experience. I can't say enough positive stuff about this drone, but that's because this thing was built for pilots like me in mind. I got interested in drones about a year ago and took the plunge with the DJI Mavic Mini. I fell in love with the hobby and started studying to go the extra mile and get licensed as a part 107 remote pilot in June of 2020. I definitely recommend this purchase if the experience level and skill set I'm describing also matches your own.

This is my 5th drone and by far the most amazing. The photography is nearly as good as the Mavic Air 2, better than Mavic & Mavic 2 Zoom, not as good as Mavic 2 Pro/Phantom/Inspire. Thing is, I don’t even care.. I fly around with no memory card just for the sake of flying around. Then I learned manual mode.. Manual Mode is turned off by default, but unlocks the full potential of a 100mph racing drone. this is my fault - they do provide a training simulator to get good BEFORE you get stupid, only I couldn’t wait to get stupid. After only a week while trying to hit top speed on my 2nd flight in manual mode, I pulled a flip. Looked great. Did a quick roll - awesome. Then I tried to do a slow roll at 85mph at about 350ft. Hit the emergency brake once I saw that OH SH&T moment and it immediately flipped upright in the top branches of some trees. It’s leg is broken. So now, because this thing is so popular, I’m waiting for either replacement parts or a new drone (minus the combo) - will probably get both. Hands down the coolest toy (not a toy) that I’ve ever owned. Can’t wait to get back in the air.

A polished experience for someone getting into FPV

DJI releases a very polished product that is easy for the average consumer to enjoy. I’ve flown DJI drones for years and have recently got into FPV drones. True FPV drones, although cheaper and easy to work on/replace parts, are not as user friendly. Much of the settings must be configured manually once linked to a transmitter through Betaflight software. It’s not too difficult, but it can be a burden to some from jumping into the hobby. The most difficult aspect to overcome in the hobby is charging and maintaining LiPo batteries. You risk causing fires or destroying your batteries if not properly charged/discharged. DJI’s smart batteries remove those obstacles and will discharge on their own to extend the life of the cells. Cons to the DJI made FPV is that it is heavy, not user friendly to replace components if you crash and extra batteries are 4-5X more expensive than standard LiPo batteries for your regular FPV drone. Also the DJI FPV will not be able to keep up with the speed or the agility of true FPV drones. Purchase this if you want a polished experience that is user friendly and you are a person who wants the failsafes in place for drone flying. DJI will not let you fly to the point where you hurt your battery and it will return home if you need it to.

This drone is absolutely amazing just using sport mode! I have not went into manual mode yet I’m still learning, but it feels like your in the sky! I have owned the mavic air 2, mini 2 and mavic pro and phantom 3 pro, so I know DJI and would buy anything they release to be honest! But this drone?? Amazing!! The goggles have a fan built in so no issue with fogging up, picture is next level clear, I had a tiny hawk 2 by emax and that uses a analog picture, this the DJI digital is light years ahead! With my other DJI products I fly out fairly far, probably 10-12 thousand feet, but while this one is more then capable of the distance I don’t, I enjoy flying close and close to tree tops. Before you buy this ask yourself what you want to do with it because I feel some people coming from a mavic or any camera drone will either love this or hate it! It’s a completely different experience! You can get really cool swooping shots! Fly feet from tree tops at 60mph

This drone is a lot of fun! I usually pilot the Mavic series drones, and I really wanted to get a drone that is very nimble and “acrobatic”. FPV footage online looks amazing, and I want to create that kind of footage. I took this drone out to a little canyon and I was zipping around in no time. It was fun to be able to control a drone that could maneuver so quickly and easily. If you do decide to get this drone, please be very careful when piloting and be aware of your surroundings. I would not recommend manual mode for most flyers unless you have experience. Definitely take advantage of the training app that DJI has created before trying manual. Overall a fun drone. Really good camera! I’d recommend buying the fly more kit for this drone since the battery will drain somewhat quickly. DJI advertises about 20 minutes, but it’s more about 12-15 minutes depending on how you’re flying.

Fun and fast drone! If you have no experience with FPV and are interested this drone is for you! If you have experience and know how to fly FPV drones, this may not be the drone for you. It's super easy to get set up and begin flying. Normal (N) mode and Sport (S) mode fly exactly like a mavic. It is simple to learn. Manual (M) mode is where the fun is though! It is completely different compared to N and S mode, so there is definetly a big learning curb, however, DJI has a flight simulator to help develop and master these new skills! Definitely recommend it if you're interested in FPV!! The image on the goggles too is amazing! I was surprised to see the quality of the video! Also i suggest you get the insurance if you plan on flying in M mode! Chances are you will crash it, so better be safe than sorry!

I would recommend this to a friend
