It couldn't be easier to fly a drone

This is my first time owning a drone. I was looking for something that was beginner friendly, and I don't think you'll be able to find something easier to operate. There are so many good things to say about the FPV, and plenty of reviews out there on youtube and such to go through all the minute details. If you're looking to get in to drone flying and want to just have fun, this is definitely the drone to buy. It's a bit pricy, but it comes with everything you'll need. The one downside I found out is that battery life (on all drones) is pretty short. If you fly in N (normal) mode, you'll get close to the rated 20min flying time. But if you put it in S (sport), expect that to drop to about 10min. I ended up getting the Fly More pack (two batteries + a charging strip).

3 modes for everybody to use and learn with. Normal mode will allow beginners to fly with obstacle avoidance and low speeds to learn the quad, sport mode will allow higher speeds and sharper manuvers and handling and manual mode will allow you to perform all the capabilities of true FPV acro flying when unlocked. The camera is fine by itself for social media and no need for an additional camera. with the goggles and standard remote you have the ability to fly just like the pros, with the motion controller those with physical disabilities or want a more basic input for flying will allow anyone to grasp the concept right out of the box.

I like DJI's products and I'm no newbie to drone flying and tinkering but I have to say that this drone had a lot going for it but still needs a lot of polishing. Let's start with the elephant in the room. Android. I own/primarily use a note 20 ultra. To get this drone to activate, update, and operate was an ordeal to say the least. After multiple installations and installations of dji fly (make sure you download from the dji site as the version in play store is outdated and won't work). I miraculously got the drone to activate. Then came the updates. It plain and simple will not update from the app and it won't fly without updates! To update I was forced to connect each component to my pc and use another application from dji to upload things one at a time. Not fun for a 1300 dollar drone that's supposed to be turn key. After that, it refused to play nice with the dji fly app and I was forced to reinstall yet again to no avail. What a frustrating experience! After a while and nearly giving up the thought dawned on my to try another usb cable. Viola, things started taking! What a great find, the provided usb cable was faulty. Lucky me. Now late into the night, drone flying was out of the question so I left it for another day. Fast forward one day, I finally got the bird in the air. It flew, it screamed, and it ate the battery in minutes while in sport mode. Time for a recharge but a great initial impression on the flight characteristics save for the aggressive battery usage. Flight two, more experimenting and toying. All is well and the battery seemed to last longer. Flight three, the m mode moment. Oh snap, it rolled, it flipped, where's that bailout button?! Saved. Flight four, gentle m mode flying and mid air shutdown despite nearly full battery. What the heck just happened? Thankfully there was no damage, this thing is tough! Notes on hardware: Goggles: meh. Very narrow field of view to align goggles with eyes and a strange blowing sensation on the eyes from the cooling fan. I can't say I'm a fan. The battery arrangement wound be nice if we could use third party power banks, but I suppose this will do. Controller: Great ergonomics, bad means if adjusting stick tension for m mode. I wish they had put more effort and made this simple so you didn't have to prey open an overmolded door and use a tiny allen key to adjust the stick. I understand the reasoning behind this but I believe it could have been done much more elegantly. Drone: It's pretty darn cool. I wish the battery wasn't the landing gear, there was a more secure power connection, and internal memory capable of recording flights should you forget your sd card. The goggles should have this too! Own big design issue I see being common screw up is the prop installations. It's easy to mix up left and right hand props as they both attach to the hub. Please watch out for this folks! Dji flight simulator: I wouldn't know. Us android users don't get any love from dji like apps which work or features that were heavily advertised. I look forward to Sony's entry into the drone market to see what they do. I'd love to practice m mode flying and acrobatics in a sim before I injure somebody crash my shiny new drone. I have high hopes for the evolution and improvement of this platform.

      Dear customer

Thank you, we have forwarded your feedback to relevant team at DJI, we would like to assure you that continuous improvement will be made for DJI FPV. When installing, please note the corresponding marks on motors and propellers, when props are installed in the wrong positions. a prompt on goggles display would appear and the aircraft would not be able to take off. For an easier activation, you can connect FPV Goggles V2 to your mobile device and update on DJI FLY app. For any further questions, please contact DJI Support via https://www.dji.com/support.

DJI doesn’t disappoint with this little power house. I’ve flown basic drones and other DJI drones but this is pure fun giving you the feeling of flight. I sit inside the house from my dining room table and fly my drone into the woods to keep an eye on my property, the deer get confused when they see it, you’ll get some great pictures and tons of fun. The image you see in the goggles is crystal clear and this has great range. Watch YouTube videos, there’s hundreds of them.

Just an amazing piece. Out of the box, this aircraft is very heavy for its size! and you wouldn't believe how easy it is to fly it. Very responsive remote and the best thing is the signal strength. I flew holy stone drones for about a year and this is my first time putting my hands on a DJI drone and it is such an incredible experience. Equip with a ton of safety features and more. Performance and Durability is Excellent to me as a experience beginner. The only downside I should mentioned is the battery life. Both on the goggles and the drone itself, I would love to enjoy a lil more time in the air. As of charging the drone battery is quite fast not even 30 mins for full charge but the battery for the goggles and the remote took almost 1-2 hours. All in all, I am not planning to return this drone as I will keep it and learn more about it as I'm flying it. I would be looking forward to get extra batteries later in the future.

    Great First FPV Drone

TLDR Great first FPV Drone with lots of safety features and a pretty good camera, along with a realistic simulator to learn full manual flying before sending your $800 drone off at 90mph. I bought this drone for the purpose of flying it in full manual to get cinematic sports shots. The camera quality isn’t as high as some of DJIs other drones and has less options, but it has everything you would need for FPV. Video in 4K 60/50 and 1080p 240. It does allow you to film in D-Cinelike, with the alternative just being standard. All the settings are changed within the goggles. A phone can be plugged into the goggles so you can do firmware updates and so others may spectate, but nothing more than that. A massive selling point for me was the flight simulator that you can install on your phone and use with the controller and goggles. I didn’t dare try flying without clocking some hours into the simulator. After flying ~10hrs in the simulator, I decided to try it out for real. There are a few annoying adjustments you have to make to the controller and a tilt limiter you have to disable in the settings. This is understandable, so you won’t take it out of the box and smack it into the ground at 80mph. The manual flying feels pretty similar to the simulator. The E Brake is also a great feature. I like flying in full manual, but I always hit the E Brake when I want to land. There’s no point in risking a crash trying to land. I haven’t had to use it in any emergencies, but I’m glad to know it’s there. The value appears to be pretty good, especially when looking at other DJI FPV unit drones. The repairs on this drone are quite a bit more expensive than other ready to fly kits, but the safety features help to make sure you don’t crash it in the first place.

I have had a few drones the last couple years and decided to make this my first fpv. When I first got it the battery that came with the drone would not charge. I eventually got the fly more kit with two extra batteries that worked but I was still down one battery. The good people at Best Buy sold me another fly more kit for $100. I was very happy with that out come. The drone itself flys great but the battery only gets about 8min of flight time on a full battery going 40-60 mph. Hovering it will get about 12-15 but who wants a fpv to just hover. The view from the goggles is kind dull but it takes great pictures and videos if viewed on your phone. I had one video of it chasing a train that looked amazing. If you’re looking for a. beginner fpv then this is a good one. Just watch out if you have motion sickness. Range wise… my spotter and I were out of radio contact before the remote lost signal. I’m guessing close to about 4 miles. All and all I’m happy with my purchase.

Im new to drones, had a Tello drone as my first drone but wanted an upgrade and wanted something that could take good quality photo/video but also be agile and go fast if need be. This is the perfect hybrid drone to do that. This thing this takes great picture and video and it is FAST! This thing turns heads, you can hear it coming! Battery life is garage not gonna lie but you get that when you have a relatively heavy drone that also flys supee fast, and also has lots of LEDS, etc. id buy the fly more kit if you can spare MORE money, just be prepared for only 20 min flight times and like 50 min recharges. Googles are nice and so it controller. Im overall pleased with this combo kit and the drone gets lots of compliments. I forsee myseld having fun with this in the future. Oh one more thing, get insurance for this thing, you dont wanna crash it and it not be covered.

DJI FPV Kit & Craft very nice! Craft flies & operates as Reviews indicted, if not accustomed to FPV it will be different, entertaining & challenging. It's NOT a sm FPV, it's a hefty FPV Hybird with assests from both FPV & Cinematic Drones. The disappointing part, No Best Buy in my area had one. Plus no parts carried in Stores: Props, Antenna Posts, Batteries, etc. You will need parts flying this Craft. Very FUN, and it's a Keeper!

Pretty cool little UAV. I was surprised at the speed and image quality. If you are into racing or are filming from a stationary space or as a passenger on a vehicle of some kind, this could be a good option for you. It was not for me. If I was looking for a cool toy, this would fit that bill.

Love the FPV drone, I have previously used a Mavic Air 2 and this really feels like your flying with the Headset. This is a pretty fast drone definitely not a toy. I was also really impressed with the image quality that came out of this drone 4k and the 20 minutes of battery life for a FPV drone is outstanding. Most FPV drones only get about 5 minutes or so of battery.

This was my first drone ever. In Normal mode it was easy to fly and sport mode it’s fun. I used the flight simulator for awhile before I took flight. It’s truly a impressive drone, but if you looking for a nice photography drone, I’d look at the Air 2s. This drone is really just for fun flight and unique video captures

If you're looking to get into FPV, this may be one way to start, but just keep it out of "Manual" mode. Search YouTube on this as opinions are abundant when it comes to this product. First, there are three flight modes this quad is capable of; Normal, Sport & Manual. Each reduces the safety features, with none in the Manual mode. The quad itself is made of a fragile plastic and when (not if) you crash in Manual mode, it's probably going to break. That means all that money is lost UNLESS you had also purchased the DJI Care Refresh (1-Year Plan) Service Agreement for an extra $199 + tax. The DJI Care Refresh (1-Year Plan) offers up to two replacements within one year if accidental damage occurs to your DJI product. The Covered Parts List: aircraft × 1, gimbal × 1, camera × 1, propellers (pair) × 2, and battery × 1 . But that comes at a price too! Replacement fee: An additional replacement fee needs to be paid when using the replacement service. For the DJI Product designated by this agreement, the replacement fee is: USD 259 for the first replacement USD 279 for the second replacement As you can see, the numbers don't lie and this becomes more expensive than simply the initial purchase. If you never go into Manual mode, and remember to hit the correct button to stop and level the quad, it may survive, but be forewarned, THIS IS NOT A TOY! And of course, this quad MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE FAA BEFORE FLIGHT!

One of the coolest drones I own ! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because though this drone looks pretty cool which it is but it’s also pretty delicate compared to other DJI drones I own. Othe than that it’s extremely fun to fly , very fast and the quality of the video feed you see through the goggles is crystal clear. Awesome drone I just wish it could take a low speed crash
