An awesome drone you can easily bring along

By far the best DJI product I've ever owned. Maybe not technically speaking - no 4K and doesn't handle wind well at all... BUT! I can always carry it everywhere. Fits in a jacket pocket. I can fit the whole case easily into a backpack with stuff for a hike. Fits in a golf bag. Right out of the gate I can fly for well over an hour with the 3 batteries. It never shows the constant interference warning. The compass and GPS work great all the time, even in urban ish environments. This is a great drone for people of almost any level with nearly perfect app support and at a great price. Its baseline features are executed well and the portability make it easily the primary drone I would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

I bought this for myself, and a cheap ~$30 drone for my kids. My kids can't use the cheap drone, because it's nearly impossible to fly without a lot of finesse on the controls. This thing stays where you put it in the air (except in high wind, it's intentionally light to keep it under 250grams for registration limits, so it doesn't have the mass to handle wind as well), so I can let my kids fly it (supervised, it's still a $400 piece of tech I don't want flown into a wall). I absolutely love the perspective I get taking photos and videos from the air, as it let's me see things from an angle I don't often get to see them. Few people get to see things from that aerial perspective, and so many appreciate that perspective when the photos and video are shared on social media. The drone has an excellent camera for it, and I hope with future firmware updates it gets better. My singular complaint is the arbitrary blocking of access to manual camera controls (shutter speed and ISO, firmware update just added manual white balance) in video mode. You can control those things manually in photo mode, but you're stuck with only an exposure compensation dial and an EV lock in video mode. Otherwise, excellent drone for the money.

Nice compact drone for personal or family use

This drone is flawless as a compact basic drone for personal or family use that has an amazingly reliable responsive flight experience and quick convenient automatic video capturing features. It can handle up to 2.7 K videos (less memory use) and is compariably capable of longer flight times than other models. Easy portability for traveling due to its compactness with size of a typical large cell phone and only 249 grams of weight is a big plus. Only feature missing is automatic object avoidance feature that higher priced models have, but if used in open visible areas, that should not be an issue. My overall experience is great, and I have lots of fun. Highly recommended especially as a pocket drone.

This is my 1st drone. It's really easy to learn. Controls are very intuitive. The fly more package was worth every dime. Worth the extra money just for the extra batteries and charger alone. Carrying case is nice and the blade guards are a must when flying indoors. The Fly app is easy to use and the video editing function is easy and fun to play with and the 2.7k video is more than sufficient for my needs. The video is beautiful when played back on my 4k TV or my phone. Everyone comments on how stable the video is. It's like having a camera on a crane. I've wanted a drone for some time but put it off because of the prices of the brand name units. Glad I got this one as my 1st because it's a great value for the quality.

This is alot of fun and handles pretty well. Each battery lasts about a half an hour. I like the preset video settings. The battery weighs about the same as the drone body. The picture quality is really good and steady. Just a warning. The instructions for charging the controller is not clear. I had to search for the answer. You use the same cable that comes with it even though the connector is different from that on the controller. It will only fit one way. Just be careful plugging it in so as not to break it. Other than that, I've been impressed with it and like the fact I don't have to get an FAA license to fly it because it's barely under the weight limit. You still should learn the flight rules and follow them.

There’s a reason so many people on YouTube are talking about this drone. I’ve flown cheap toy drones, but never really considered getting a real drone due to cost and not wanting to chance buying something from overseas. So after many hours of research I pulled the trigger on this great beginner drone. It’s light and seems a little delicate, but I’ve already crashed this thing a few times and only managed a broken prop. The fly more combo is a must if you want more than 25 min flight time. I’ve already put a few hours on mine and it’s been so reliable. I recommend paying another $39 for the DJI refresh care on their site. You can trade in 2 broken drones over the course of a year for a small fee, and you can extend it another year after that.

I have been very surprised what this light weight quality made drone can do. I’ve taken it very high and far and I have never not been able to get it back to me when out of sight with the fly home option. The speed modes, quality of camera and ability to change pitch of camera is awesome. Their really isn’t any reason to buy an super expensive one as it has quality features. Super impressed with just how easy it is to fly as well and on a windy day, how it is able to just hover in place without flying away.

Did my research on the drone and was thinking of moving up to the Mavik 2 but since this is my first drone I figured I didn't need the couple of extra features it offered. I am happy with the mini. It has great range, excellent handling and the camera is awesome. The flight package was a bonus. You need the extra batteries when you are out in the field and the automatic fast charger when you get home. The carrying case makes transporting everything you need convenient. I could literally be driving get inspired pull over, set up and be flying in less than 5 minutes.

Never operated or even came close to a drone. I decided to get one to capture my proposal and have on-hand for future trips. Purchased this less than 24hr before leaving for a trip where I planned to propose. Tested it out (after I watched a couple YouTube tutorials) for about 10 minutes. The next morning was go time. I wish I had spent more time familiarizing myself with it but it still turned out great. Good quality, easy to use, good battery life. Definitely satisfied and would recommend. Note: Batteries were all low out of the box.

I just read the reviews and were shocked. Of the one star reviews, two stood out: 1 - needs a firmware upgrade right out of the box. Best Buy can’t do this so I returned it. .........ok, really? It takes 5 minutes and you tap “update” on your phone. It’s not a deal breaker. Everything you buy needs an update, including my car. 2 - needing Android 6...again, ok...it says that in the box. This is a great starter drone. It actually blew me away it’s so good. This is my first drone...the app is simple and allows you to control the return to home settings, and with two button pushes, it will automatically take off and land for you! The video is impressive...even if it’s not 4K. It’s super steady.

This is my first drone and as such I didn't really know what to expect. I actually bought it to examine the roof on my house and motorhome. It is extremely responsive, both video and still shots are steady and detailed. Even in a fairly good wind with gusts this little drive maintains it's stability. With nearly 30 minutes of flight time and there batteries it is more than up to the task I bought it for and now for fun and recreation too.

Great Little Drone For The Beginner or Pro.

Being the proud owner of a DJI Mavic Air and my former drones being the Phantom 3 and the DJI Spark , I'm happy to say that the Mavic Mini is so far a winner ! Having experience setting up for first flight of this new drone was just like the others with updates as usual . Updates were required before 1st flight and starting the motors, updates failed 4 times through the DJI remote making me download the DJI Assistant to my MacBook and connecting the drone updating it successfully . My 1st test flight was at night, went pretty well. Next morning I took the drone out and gave it a shakedown flight and she flew well and took some great photos ! This drone is fairly light and don't seem to be built as strong as it's Mavic Air counterpart . Reading about some of it's flaws, I'm sure DJI will rectify them flaws . So far I'm enjoying this drone like my Mavic Air and having the Mini as a backup. PROS - Lightweght, great footage, comes with a case , extra batteries (Fly More Combo) and it's great handling and ease of flight. CONS - Cheap plasticy feel, no navigation lighting for night flights making it harder to fly at night. Night footage not as good as it's Mavic counterparts. Batteries don't have the charge levels built into them, only notable when they are inserted into the drone. Update woes .

I’m satisfied with my mavic mini. By no means am I an expert at flying a drone but this drone is easy to maneuver. It’s small, compact and provides breathtaking shots. Great for on the go. I opted for the fly more combo because I wanted to ensure I had enough juice while filming and it’s super convenient. I would check with regulations in your area but since it’s under the weight requirement there’s no need to register. Overall great drone for beginners, just wanting to use for travel, or satisfy need to fly a drone.

This drone has descent responsiveness and a very good camera. The distance and battery life are relatively good. I've hit a couple items (not at full speed) and it has happily recovered with minimal "damage" (I don't use the protective piece it comes with). I like its weight is below the FAA required registration and the extra batteries (you'll need them). I don't like you can't control the camera...it's a good camera, but I would like to be able to at least move it up and down for better views.

For something so small it holds its position very well even in a nice breeze. The video and pictures come out clear and the gimbal does a good job of keeping everything steady. The Dji fly app is intuitive it makes it simple to find the settings you need to change to your liking. The only issue I have had so far is by me living close to a airport I'm in Class D airspace. It wont allow me to take off in my house I have to go a few blocks away when I fly it outdoors. I wanted to use it to check the shingles on my roof one day after a storm and I could not do it. But other than that very nice drone. The Fly more Combo gives you a around 22 minutes flight on each battery and you have 3 of them. Dji do something for the people who live in red authorization zones.

I love this thing. It is quite easy to use and it takes really great videos and pictures. It launches and lands quite easily out of your hand, which is really handy when flying in rugged locations. Battery life is fantastic and the Cinema mode allows for super smooth flying shots. Some friends of mine have the GoPro Karma drone which is absolutely massive compared to this and was unable to launch and land in the same tighter spaces I was able to operate the Mavic Mini in. I win!

Great little drone. I love the fact that it’s at 249 grams and do not understand what some reviewers are complaining about not having avoidance sensors as that would make it exceed the weight defeating its whole purpose. Takes nice pictures and videos and is very stable for being so light. I can fly about 1/2 mile at 400ft living out in farm land and I get about 20 useable minutes out of a battery. However you will need to charge the batteries before first use and that will set you back several hours.

I had been looking for a quality drone to purchase to take photos of my family on camping trips without breaking the bank. Well, the Mavic Mini exceeded my expectations! Easy to fly and taking professional quality photos are a snap ( with a little practice). I purchased the fly more combo and I’m very happy with the fly time the extra batteries provide. If you’re looking to get into drones but don’t want to spend $1000+ this is the drone for you!

We had purchased several less expensive drones prior to “learn how to fly” the Mavic mini was by far the easiest to operate, fly and the best camera quality overall. The drone itself is by far the most stable in the air, and has amazing battery life as well. This purchase was worth every single penny. My boyfriend and I are just hobbiest drone fliers but enjoy this drone very much and the camera/videos are phenomenal for something so small and the overall cost.
