Excellent reliable drone!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up just about 1 year ago and with 363 flights and a little over 350K miles flown, I can safely say this is an extremely fun, reliable drone. I have not had any major issues or a single crash with the Mavic Pro, just a brief communication issue between drone and controller twice - and when this happened, the drone automatically "returned to home / take off point" like it's supposed to. The 3 batteries that came with the "Fly More' package still holds a great charge after a year, I may have lost about 1-2 minutes on these batteries, but I do know this is normal with these rechargeable Lithium batteries. I did take this on a "distance test" late last Summer in NJ, nice large field, farmland - away from any interference of the city. I did not get to push this to the 4.3 mile advertised max test, but was able to get 2.1 miles before deciding to turn around. I admit, this is by far the farthest I have flown and was a bit nervous - but I had no problem, no loss of video on the controller! Also 2.1 miles is far more than I need. I just like to keep the drone in my line of sight at all times. The camera is decent, it takes great shots in daytime conditions - nighttime, in very low light situations, well...not so much. RAW photo mode is great for me. The Panorama photos are fun (I do use a small program called "Hugin" to stitch these into a super large seamless 360º photo) I've tried the Live stream for YouTube and Facebook Live, it's not too bad, not perfect however. I've has some lag, pixelation of video when streaming so I don't really use this feature. The one thing I read before buying the Mavic Pro is a potential annoyance of DJI's constant updates. Yes, this is true. There are times I've taken the drone out, ready to take flight, open the app and prompted with a update. A few I could ignore, but a few I had to update before I could fly. And if you are not on a Wifi at the time, an update can take a while to download, install..and it's taking up your battery life on the drone, a bit deflating. My advise, before you leave the home, charge up the drone, controller, app to see if any updates are available. I've had a different drone, brand name a few years ago. Sadly, I was just never happy with the performance of that drone, especially after it's final bug-filled firmware before the company moved on and put all it's focus on it's newer drone model. But this DJI, overall I've been very happy with this drone. I am waiting for the Mavic 2 to drop in price just a bit - may take a while though. I will upgrade to that since the the camera on that newer Mavic 2 is just impressive.

Solid drone for first time flyers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall very impressed with its capabilities, stability, and video/camera definition. After a short quiz, and agreeing to terms and conditions, the controller and app unlocks, enabling flight mode. With a simple push of joysticks, the drone was up in the air. Commandeering it was relatively straightforward and very responsive to throttle. The information presented on the remote and DJI app can be overwhelming at first, but knowing what each set of numbers represent makes flight that much more meaningful (from drone speed, distance, camera exposure, drone and remote battery levels, etc). The reviews I read prior to purchasing this drone were pretty spot-on, and like many others who have flown this drone before, the DJI Mavik Pro did not disappoint. Of course there are flaws (eg. inability to sense obstacles directly on top, to the sides, and behind, inability to fly in the rain, extremes of temperatures, delicate gimbal mechanism), but they are far outweighed by its pros (incredible flight range of a few miles, high definition photos and videos, multiple ways of tracking moving subjects, solid feel and looks, portability, ease of use, live streaming, cinematic modes and first person views, the list goes on). Definitely on the pricier end, but well worth the price for taking photography to another level in more ways than one ;)

Beats P4 hands down
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Phantom 4 due to the delay in production for the Mavic Pro. I loved the Phantom 4 but found some issues with it along the way. Once BestBuy had the Mavic Pro instock I ordered for pickup right away. First flight on the Mavic Pro I was blown away with the stability it provides versus the Phantom 4. Twice as stable compared to the Phantom 4. The video quality is GOOD but not as good as the P4. I made a precisely filmed video with the Mavic focusing on a beautiful motor cycle staticly displayed with sunshine day light and the video came out awesome. Once on YouTube you can't tell the video quality difference compared to the P4. One thing I notice a lot with the Mavic is that high wind affects it's behaviors noticeably. I get the "high wind" warning a lot at higher altitude where as the Phantom 4 seems to cut through the air a lot better due do it's weight and sleekness versus the Mavic. Overall I never touch my Phantom 4 and only whip out the Mavic. The folding booms and props are just too perfect. It's by far the best small size RTF drone on the market right now. Only issue I've had with it at first was the supplied lightning to mini USB cable kept cutting out. Simple fix was to use my iPhone lightning cable going to the USB port on the controller, never experienced an issue.

The MAVIC PRO is Something very Special
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a Lumenier QAV540G v2 for several years and I have ALWAYS been working on the rig all the time. My build was a very high end on my QAV540G and there were always problems here and there. After learning more about the MAVIC PRO quadcopter I decided that this little aerial platform is really something. The MAVIC flies like a dream and the options built into the MAVIC simply blows me away. I was looking for an aerial platform that shoots wonderful High Definition video with zero vibration and the MAVIC PRO has all the cool high tech options in a very compact size and reasonably priced. The unit that I had an issue in the video playback so I took it back to Best Buy. I have been waiting for the MAVIC PRO's back in stock and that day has come again. I will be picking up my new MAVIC PRO on January 30th and I can't wait to get it into the air. Keep an eye on the Best Buy website because I don't think the MAVIC PRO will be actually for sale in any Best Buy store for some time, they are just selling them too quickly.

New Perspective
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a photographer, and an experienced r/c plane flier. What I was looking for was a stable photographic platform to get that unique view. The Mavic Pro delivers. I had read many reviews and watched many videos but was still a bit apprehensive regarding the ability to fly and compose images or videos. The Mavic Pro is so sophisticated my apprehension was unfounded. It can take-off by itself and land right back where it took of, again by itself. It has collision avoidance capabilities when flying forward, and is so stable in a hover I can easily compose my shots. The other apprehension I had was the ability to actually see the screen on my phone when flying in full sun. This can be challenging.. not only with full sun light but on sand, or snow. There is so much reflected light that I need to find some shade in order to see the video being sent to me from the Mavic. I was using my iPhone 6 but upgraded to an iPad Mini4, that was on sale here at Best Buy, for a larger screen and more memory (the iPad app would not run on my iPad4.. it requires a mini or Pro). So far my Mavic has flown for 10 hours and has traveled almost 60 miles. It's pretty amazing!!! I would suggest purchasing the 'Fly More' bundle.. you are going to want the extra batteries the charger and the bag.

Cinematic Aerial Views in a Portable Package
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a few aerial camera platforms including a Phantom 4, and the Mavic Pro is the perfect blend of portability, ease of use, and outstanding features. The startup time from power on to ready to fly is significantly faster than any of my other drones, making it easy to fly at a moments notice. Being able to throw this in a backpack makes it great for hiking or other events where I don't want to pack a giant case for miles to get great shots. The camera is incredibly stable for its size, and the overall smoothness of the controls blows some of my larger drones out of the water. There are a few catches with auto focus and metering, but if you setup your controller correctly, it is relatively easy to manage with either the bottom custom buttons, or the 5D button on top. I would also recommend that you calibrate the IMUs and the compass before your first flight, out of the box they can be off and it could lead to drifting off course during flight, or a flyaway situation. While being able to use my iPhone in the controller is handy, I would also recommend buying an aftermarket holder for a tablet. Overall this is a serious joy to fly.

Easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Mavic Pro is amazing to say the least. Read many reviews trying to decide between Mavic and Phantom 4 and I'm glad I chose the Mavic. This is my first drone yet the Mavic Pro made it easy to take to the sky. It has a beginner mode which limits height and distance so you can get comfortable before going all out. The home button is a great feature which bring the Mavic right back to where it takes off from, and when the battery level goes below a certain point the Mavic automatically heads home. The controller will give you the opportunity to cancel the auto home if you aren't quite ready to land. Taking pictures or video is a breeze as the button is right at your fingertip! Once you finish your flight you can look at the photos or videos right on your phone using the Go4 app. I bought the FlyMore package and would recommend this also because of the extra batteries and the four bank charger. I've had the Mavic Pro for about a month now and can't wait to fly it more. Almost forgot to mention how easy it is to take it anywhere due to the folding legs! Seems DJI really did their homework on the Mav Pro!!

Best Drone on the market for under $900.00
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First this Dji Drone is not for kids or anyone under the age of 15 in my opinion. I have own the Dji Spark, Mavic Air and the Mavic Pro and there is no comparison of the 3 drones. I thought i could get just as good footage of my Spark then I could off my Mavic Air, so I ending up taking a hit with a 200.00 restocking fee but its better then being stock with a $750.00 dollar drone. The Mavic Pro is far more Superior especially when you are talking about the Cameras. One this Mavic Pro I have flown it a very long distance well over 15000 feet, and it still had fairly good video, GPS and radio signal through out the flight vs the Mavic Air and Spark uses WIFI and the Mavic Pro uses something called Intersysnc. I wish i WOULD have waited a few months since the Mavic Pro 2's are out now...Uggrrrrr Check out the quality of the image and i DID not touch it up in any software editing programs yet, its straight RAW photo.

nothing come close
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the third expensive drone I have bought, and by far this blow out anything else. There is just nothing come close to its size vs the features you are getting. In fact, I don't think this lack of any features compare to other more heavy and bigger drones. I'm sure everyone already wrote on all the features about this drone. But I was unlucky enough to get a dud at first, my brand new drone drop out of the sky on the second day of purchase, don't bother talking to Bestbuy, they won't do anything for you. But to my surprise, I called DJI, their after sale services was awesome. Each time you call, you will get an actual person fairly quickly. But long story short, they let me send back the broken drone with no charge, and after evaluation, they completely fixed it with new parts and send it back to me, the whole process took about 10 business days with zero charges! Therefore they deserve the very best rating they can get! And I'm having a blast with the drone, I take it with me on all of my business trips!

Great Drone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Drone, should of bought it with package, but slowly buying the accessories, so I am ended up paying more overall. Finally got filters for camera to try that out. Limit is around 400 ft high which is pretty far up. Have not tried sport mode yet. Compact for sure, but with all the accessories, extra batteries, it is better to just get Lowpro backpack. Tahoo. Looking forward to taking on a vacation trip and launch it. The frames per second on video is low for 4K with a lot of movement, but still looks good.. So probably if you need the better better video quality, you should probably get Phantom 4 Pro. But so far, this thing hovers like a dream, easy drone to fly. The controller (sticks) are sturdy. Bad thing, they will probably come up with a Mavic Pro 2 before you know it with rear/side sensors, longer battery life, better camera, etc. Extra batteries are a must. Got mine end of March 2017. Wish I had more time to fly it.

Simply Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is absolutely the best drone I've ever used and I say that with no hesitation. How DJI was able to fit so much into such a small drone is beyond me and I love it. I take it with me almost everywhere I go even when I go to work because it's so easy to bring around. It's flies extremely easy and has lots of great features. Shooting video in 4k is awesome and the quality is great. For anyone looking to get a great drone in a small form factor this is the one you want.

Worthy of 10 stars than 5 - Best drone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best drone in the world! 'Drops Mic' =) "Smart" drone, sleek design, compact, travel friendly, user friendly functions, there's so many great things to say about this drone. There are so many video clips that you can watch regarding this drone, but once you fly it yourself, you'll understand what we are saying. Not good for beginners IMHO mainly because of the price. This drone could have been easily priced at around $1500 but it's priced correctly. Buy a cheaper drone to get yourself accustomed first, then upgrade once your flying skills are better. Buy DJI Care. This is a must!!!!

Like Alien Technology
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Mavic is revolutionary. The combination of size, price, and capability is simply amazing. The camera and gimbal are very good and the video and photos are fine for all but professional videographers. I personally shoot in 1080p 30fps (note the sensor used does not do a good job with 1080p 60fps) as I don't want to deal with huge 4K files for my use. In fact, you can download the movies (1080 The range is unbelievable and the video downlink is much clearer than any DJI drone to date (same as p4pro). If you have a spotter, or don't care to follow the guidelines, using the litchi app with a pair of $20 VR googles is the way to go. No need to wait or pay for the long delayed DJI occusync googles, the litchi app is $23 and also gives you much better waypoint capabilities than DJI go app. Nothing available today even comes close to DJI Mavic at any price, save for

Easy to fly, tons of features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first "real" drone, and I could not be happier with the purchase. The drone is easy to fly, has long battery life, and folds up to easily fit in a backpack for easy transportation. Because of it's size, I can easily take it on all of my travels. The video quality is great, but, like you probably saw on various YouTube videos, likely needs post processing. The obstacle mitigation is great, except when flying into the sun, where the sensors can relay false information. Luckily, the drone is has tons of custom settings and the sensors can be switched off if desired. Definitely not a drone for those just looking to fly around, you can get something cheaper. This is for those who want a drone that can take great shots with little work.

Excellent product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DJI has delivered again. If you take the time to read and understand how this device works it's amazing. Simple with autonomous flights and RTH. This is my 5th drone and by far my favorite. If people are giving this a poor review, chances are they have not done the homework behind how it works. And thanks to Best Buy for actually having it in stock. Pre-ordered since day one but on hold for too long. Best Buy had it available and delivered within days of my purchase.

Best Drone I Ever Owned!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this for several months now, and i absolutely love it. The controls are easy and intuitive, the video quality is AMAZING (unfortunately the files are huge), it's steady in the wind. The ability to fold it up makes it very usable. I brought this with me to the Great Smoky Mountains and got some fantastic footage from up high. I also use it to check up on the roof and gutters at home. For instance, i just used mine to check on some roof damage from a fallen tree. It's a fun toy, a necessary piece of camera equipment for my YouTube channel, but it's also an invaluable tool for the homeowner.

Great drone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This drone is well worth the money. I live in a major city and I’m still able to reach out a mile or more. If I take it to an open field of the woods I can easily go 2 miles plus with crystal clear video feed. The camera is amazing on it and very stable video and photos. Definitely recommend lens filters though for video for those sunny days. The Mavic Pro is very easy to fly and almost impossible to lose as long as you don’t run it into a tree or power lines which is still hard to do with the front sensors on.

Great drone for beginners!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first drone. It's so easy to fly even my 9yr old can do it. It can literally fly itself. Beyond that, the camera and gimbal quality are amazing. Video is stunning. The default camera settings work great and there are tons of options to customize depending on the lighting and quality you are looking for. Battery life averages 25 minutes. Drone returns to home automatically when battery reaches 20%. I've owned the drone for about 3 weeks and still haven't experimented with all the smart modes. My favorite so far is active track where the drone locks on to you and follows you. You can activate this with hand/arm gestures or with remote.

Great drone! Not for beginners
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was going to purchase the Phantom 4 pro, but decided to go with the Mavic Pro instead after comparing price and functions between the two. I am very satisfied with my choice. Great flying drone with a ton of bells and whistles. I will say this drone is not for a beginner . If you crash it, they are very expensive to repair. You can opt for the Dji care refresh insurance for $100. It will cover up to 2 replacements in 12 months depending on what kind of accident occurred. A deductible is required of course. If I'm correct, DJI has flight data access to your drone and will know how, when, and where you were flying prior to the accident.

Great drone for beginner and expert
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my Mavic Pro for nearly a month and I've had no problems so far. I can fly around my house (I live in the country) for approximately 1 mile out before I get weak transmission issues because I have a lot of trees and I'm controlling it in a low place on my property. It is a little shaky in high wind but it maintains its position for the most part. The camera is decent, as it could be better but the portability makes up for the lack of resolution. I get about 22-24 minutes of flight time in regular mode and about 14-15 min in sport mode. I love my Mavic. It's a great drone for beginners all the way to experts.
