Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Mavic Pro Quadcopter's ease of use and impressive camera quality, frequently praising its size and stability. However, some users point to the price as a significant drawback, and others mention challenges with wind resistance and occasional software issues. While flight time is generally considered positive, concerns about the drone's sensor limitations and noise level have also been raised.

    Huge upgrade from Bebop

I bought this as a replacement to the first generation Parrot Bebop, and I am blown away by how big of an upgrade it has been. With the Bebop, I was getting about 8-10 minutes of fly time (if I was lucky), the image stabilization was digital (as in it took a fisheye photo and you zoomed in to a portion of it), it often had difficulty maintaining a position and would drift; and the videofeed to my iphone would be choppy at best. The Mavic improves on all of those things. Beautiful 4k video with great stabilization (FB commenters have been amazed by the clarity of the images and videos I've posted); I have yet to run out of battery on a flight (well over 25 minutes of flight time); the Mavic is stable and extremely accurate (I was always afraid to use the RTH funtion with the Bebop because I was never sure where it would end up, not so with the Mavic. It landed on the exact spot it took off from... even in somewhat strong winds). The amount of technology crammed into such a small form factor is nothing short of amazing. The obstacle avoidance, active track, gesture activation, and POI are awesome, and I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface of the full capabilities of this drone. Both the drone and controller fold up and are extremely transportable. And I'm not a professional video editor, but I've been impressed by the DJI Go App's automatic video creator. In short, if you have even been considering getting a Mavic and you can get your hands on one, I highly recommend it!

    Totally Impressed!

I'm a first-time quadcopter owner and like most people I read multiple reviews and watched tons of review videos before deciding on a quad, I decided to go with the Mavic Pro instead of the Phantom 4, the portability was the deciding factor along with the fact that the Mavic outranges the Phantom by a mile. I personally like everything about the Mavic, it's incredibly stable even in high winds and is very easy to fly. My very first flight I recorded during the majority of the time and only got 15 minutes of flight time, not the 25-28 minutes I was expecting. I started out with the "Beginner Mode" which only allows a distance of 98' away, that mode was quickly halted opting for the regular mode. I flew the quad upwards to 317' to record a sunrise, it was awesome! Recorded the sunrise in tripod mode and the Mavic was incredible, no movement at all at 317'!! Haven't had it long enough to try all the recording modes, looking forward to them too! The controller chirped the low battery warning and I decided to try the "Return to Home", wow, hard to believe that it landed within an inch from where it lifted off, remarkable! I had a landing pad, that's how I knew it was within an inch! The batteries charge time is a little over an hour, glad I purchased a couple extra. If you're trying to decide, the Mavic Pro is a no-brainer, you won't be disappointed! Thank you Best Buy for finally getting me my Mavic!

I’m a beginner and I can’t tell you how great this drone is!!! The help at best buy was the worst, but boy this drone can sure do a lot of amazing things! I got this on a sale where I was supposed to get propellers with it however the cashier didn’t know about it so he wouldn’t give them to me even when I showd him the paper which they printed and placed on their counter. Pros of the Mavic Easy to fly Beautiful quality Manual is easy to understand Has sensors to see where it took off Has sensors to see objects in front of it and will alert you Quite a bit of flying time! Cons Sensors are not on the side of the mavic making it easy to hit it on the side if you’re not familiar flying it The app is really confusing if you haven’t reaserched how to use it. I would recommend flying it in an open area before first use... also here in Utah you need to register it and place a label on your drone. It’s only 5 dollars to register your drone with just a certificate. If you’re at a webpage that you think is it and they’re charging you more then you’re at the wrong webpage. (unless you want to pay more for a sticker you can put on yourself)

I bought this drone after reviewing several. I have taken it with me on trips, and the compact design is great. Toss it in the camera bag and off we go. Setup and use is pretty easy. I recommend the 3rd party app Litchi to go with it over the DJI app. The camera quality is great. See the video I made at YouTube. Link below. The drone is super stable and if you feel like you are losing control, let go of the sticks and engage the Return To Home function and it comes right back. It warns you when battery is getting low and will automatically come home when only enough battery remains to get home before crashing. Definitely recommend for someone looking for a compact/portable drone or a first time drone. Not really a toy to play with, but if you want to get great footage from above, this drone will do it. I have done a lot of research before buying this drone. DJI is by far the best drone maker around. I also looked at getting the Phantom 4 and the Go Pro Karma. After doing the research and trying the other drones I went with the Mavic. The ease of use, small size, and awesome features, like the follow me, and obstacle avoidance. I added an Ipad mount from AMZ so I can use my IPad. Range in the city is around 2 miles with trees and buildings cutting down on the signal range. I used on the Blue Ridge Parkway overlooks, beach and a few lakes. It's fun a heck to fly and the sports mode gets me up to 42MPH. The quality of the 4k videos and pictures are amazing. This is a profesional quality drone. I am getting 25 minutes per battery and it takes about 30-45 minutes for the batteries to charge. Extra batteries are only $89 compared to $169 for the Phantom 4's. It's a lot smaller and very easy to travel with.

    My Mavic Pro

I bought this drone because I wanted to enhance my photo capabilities and get into some hobby grade cinematography. I also wanted something that I could take with me on vacations wherever that might be to capture memories that traditional cameras can't provide. The Mavic Pro has not let me down. Not only is it easy to fly this thing, the photos and video are great. It amazes me how well it does these things. If you are interested in drones and want one of the best on the market at this price point then you should first read a lot of forum posts, and reviews and then decide. I thought I would only be buying the drone and use the controller with my phone and the one battery that came with it but I have spent a lot more on accessories than I anticipated. It has become an expensive hobby very quick for sure. But the return outweighs the cost for me. DJI is a great name in the industry and I have learned that as with all things there are shortcomings. I am not trying to push you away, I am just saying "do your homework first before investing this much money". You will definitely want to be prepared for all that is involved. There are cheaper drones on the market but nothing that compares to this one yet. I really enjoy it and don't regret buying it.

    Best Drone for the Money!

I was able to buy a bundle pack on 11/18. This is my first drone, so I was a little apprehensive about flying it, but it has a beginner mode that is very helpful to build confidence before letting it get to far away. After running through one battery (20 mins) I felt ready to take off Begging Mode. The Mavic is so easy to fly, the hardest part is just getting familiar with all the features. I have flown mine almost every day and typically go through all 3 batteries. I get 20+ minutes of flight time with each battery, but have still ordered 2 more, so I can have one in the drone and 4 charging on the 4 port charging hub. The 4k video is insane, it is nearly impossible to take a bad video. Tripod feature slows down the drown so you get cinematic shots. I have let a couple friends who have all flown other drones and they can't wait to get their own!

I bought the new DJI Mavic Pro as a present and went to the pickup location. Picked it up and noticed that the box was first of all damaged, beat up and embarassing. On top of that, the box itself was opened! I went back to the manager and told them that the box was already opened and i wasnt sure if they gave me a refurbished or someones returned item. It was too embarassing to give as a present! The manager said she wasnt sure about anything. Never buying such expensive gifts, especially when they come the way I received mine!!!!

This drone has it all! Range, battery life, and features. It is light and compact enough to take hiking and we use it to check off-shoots of the trail we are on. I set it to automatically follow and orbit my daughter during her mountain biking races. We have used it to check shingle damage on roofs. I find new uses for it constantly.

My reason for purchasing the Mavic Pro was its size and weight while still being a 4k-video capable drone. For traveling it is just perfect. It is easy to fly and you can use features like Auto-Start / Landing in case it is your first drone and you need to get a feel for flying it. The Mavic is controlled by the remote controller in conjunction with your Smart phone with the DJI app. That app allows many predefined Auto-Shot scenarios like Follow mode, Active Tracking and several more. I especially like the Tripod Mode which is fantastic for smooth video footage because all flight maneuvres are slowed down automatically no matter how hard you push the control sticks. The Mavic is a lightweigth and it has too work hard when it gets windy, however, I did not notice any problems with the gimbal stabilization which works well. The photo and video quality is comparable to a GoPro quality. The viewing angle is a little les than the one from a GoPro on a Karma drone. Otherwise no difference, may be the contrasts and dynamic range are slightly better in the Mavic compared to a GoPro, however, with post-editing you can achieve same results with both systems.

wish I had purchased mavic first before the spark

Whenever I enter into some new area of interest there is a lot of hand-wringing and review reading and general all around edumacating myself to figure out which is the right fit for me. I was going through a spell when I let that approach lapse and ended up buying the first drone someone recommended me and I wish I had done due diligence first. Not sure if I can mention by name the bad drones but whatever their name is Legion for they are many so just be wary and worried when buying but eventually I bought the DJI phantom four before the mavic and it's a great drone and made me fall in love with quadcopters in the way that Rosaline I think was her name gets Romeo to fall in love initially but ultimately it was not the right drone for me. Not Too large but not very portable (The cAmera images are better than my shots from Mavic though), so then I went with the DJI spark because it is cheaper than the mavic and i regret the choice because I was charging all these expenses to work anyway because we were using these drones for bird control and also security Patrol in an agricultural setting where I can simply program flight paths for the phantom and the drone and get back to work planting vegetables but yiu can't do that with the spark (although you CAN wave at the spark and other hand gestures repeatedly and increasingly more frantically as the drone hovers placidly in front of and above you blinkly passively without response as your boss and your irrigators watch) the spark is a lot of money to be putting down and too limited now. I cannot even recommend it as an entry-level even though it had a lot going for it it has a maddening system of pairing or actually not pairings with your phone to the remote control to the drone itself and I can't recommend it to anyone unless you área patient and/or can hack into the mainframe of a... well anyway I strongly suggest foregoing the gimmicky spark (sorry I am being hard in what is actually a pretty good drone with a decent camera but if yiu can't pair the remote you can't fly it unless you hurl it upward into the heavens in anger) and instead I recommend going with the mavic which just... works. It works. Blah blah blah lots of other words and observations to go but yeah the mavic is solid. A little sexy even but not like too much like you're trying to compensate for anything it's just form following function and it is lean and it just works. It is well-made, flexible, quite literally, I can fold it like an origami swan it can fit in a small Day pack with extra battery and charger remote. I use it with iPad mini but you have to get an adapter for that to fit. I recommend get as fast a san disk as you can. The normal ones they go too slow. Also I recommend learning the law of the land because it's a changing.also if you flip the drone upside down it falls asleep just like a chicken goes into a stupor. I'm telling you this because its helpful worse case scenario it's go to know how to shut a drone down in a controlled manner because at some point you will want to impress a girl and show her your new toy it's NOT a toy ok it's for work and that's not the point you are talking and you wanted to make a positive impression and you're feeling desperate and her middle name is Alexandra and you're already trying too hard anyway so you boot up the mavic but you didn't give it time to gets its bearings first which it does need to do and it wouldn't hurt you either to do the same before operating machinery about people have at 45 mph but if yiu just switch it on and gun it up it will lift off but the drone can start to wander and if in a last ditch effort you just grab it by the bottom it will get reallly feisty. It actually is programmed to turn on the boosters I think and try to break free from your grip and louder anyway just flip of the wrist and drone upside down tummy up it wil respond goes to sleep immediatlely aaaand.... scene. What else? Buy the charger that can Charge three battery simultaneously. Again follow the law and be mindful of the fact that we are in the formative years of drones for consumer market and if yiu are reckless and cause a wreck then lawmakers have to go make laws that limit the rest of us who are more responsible and so it goes and so it gives so please always remember when you put the drone on sport mode at the park: Sometimes less is more.

I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of videos about this drone, and the product lived up to the hype. It is just fantastic. Solid, steady, capable and films fantastic footage. It is easy to use for a newbie, yet can be used in advanced capacities if you have the skills to use them. The range is excellent, the customization for gimbal control can make it move exactly the way you want it at the speed you want it. The learning curve is a bit steep if you are a brand new user, so take your time and get used to flying it short distances before going long. The only drawback: the zoom on the camera is not a smooth zoom, so you have to zoom it before you film it- in other words it moves in increments so you can't do a smooth zoom in to a subject with the camera zoom (but you can by flying the drone itself obviously). Also, yes I do wish it would go faster too haha! I highly recommend this product, can't say enough good things about about it!

Great product. I really have no complaints. I bought one or two cheaper drones before purchasing this one because I felt I needed “practice” before getting something this price. I had a lot of trouble flying those and almost felt that I shouldn’t bother getting a good drone. I was wrong, don’t waste time buying anything to practice with if you know you want a drone. Besides a slightly weird initial setup process and a slight learning curve on turning it on and off (button presses, etc) it’s so easy. Start in beginner mode and go from there. Footage is beautiful. I have so many amazing 4K videos of different environments. Keep your eye on camera settings and mess around with different ones to get the perfect shot. It’s so portable and battery is basically just as good as any other compareable option. I couldn’t recommend any other drone in this range.

Pros: Packs very small for transport. Very easy to fly Autonomous modes Safety sensors Great 2k video Very usable flight time Have crashed several times and it’s very durable each time. Very stable in medium wind. Cons: 4k video is too compressed for my liking Field of view is much narrower than the Phantom so you have to fly higher to get a wide image Price is very close to the much larger Phantom 4, and way higher than the smaller Spark. Video ISO becomes unusable past 200ISO
