This is the Best action camera you can get for the price and it is a true rival of the Gopro Hero 11 in every way
Pros:
4k 120fps full stabilization and horizon leveling
Superior menu and ease of access to all functions
A app that actually work and has Super fast wireless downloads
Built like a tank
both front and rear screen are touch screen
Blazing fast charging
interchangeable lens protector
can be charged even in the protective case
wont overheat (the battery will drain before it shuts off)
Cons:
rear touch screen could have been bigger
built in mic picks up a decent amount of wind noise
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
at the price its unbeatable and for 95% of weekend warriors and normal human beings this action camera is far beyond expectations
Most youtube reviews are one sided and in favor of gopro because the name brand and good overall track record and its understandable because its the standards of action camera but the DJI action 3 is right up there with the gopro 11 and the DJI action 3 is a much better value with no subscription strings attached

Honestly, this camera is amazing. The video quality is great. SETUP was a bit of a hassle, I recommend activation through a tablet or Ipad. Phones dont seem to work through the DJI app. Once you are activated and you use it, youll love the camera. O one last thing when the camera gets hot it will turn off the back screen but dont worry its still recording, its a safety fiture to keep the camera from getting hotter but since its water proof up to specific meters, just dunk it a few times if you really need the back camera on. We just place it on the mount to our paddleboard and hit record. Makes great videos and takes great photos. Worth haven around.

This is the 2nd one I've bought from Best Buy and unfortunately I'll have to return this one, too. Both of them had a manufacture date of 09/22 on the box. If these were stocked in the stores I could just look at the box to get one with a date of 11/22 or later. For electronics, cameras and computers I always shop Best Buy first.
If you're reading reviews on this camera (DJI Osmo Action "3") make sure the review was written in mid December 2022 or later. The 10 bit + firmware update is important and 60 to 70% of the cameras made before mid October will probably have a soft focus problem. Getting one made in November 2022 or later had the correct assembly (for the most part) and the focus is likely just fine.
Aside from that, these cameras are fantastic. Great picture quality, easy menu, long battery life (recording time), 10 bit color options, 4:3 (8x6) aspect ratio option to compete with GoPro 11's 8x7, and a better mounting solution that's also industry compatible.
If you get one without the focus issue it's a 5 out of 5 star camera.

I love this camera! Might be a little old but it has good color and waulity out of the box. The rocksteady works great and its very smooth and responsive. This is great alternative to the next 2 gens. I have the action 5 a d this performs worh it honestly nothing wrong with this camera. Works perfect with the dji mics as well. I use this for motorcycle vlogs.

This is an excellent action camera. Magnetic base makes everything more easy to use. It does overheat and shut down. I got 2 of these cameras and 1 had a problem reading the sd cards but you can’t beat this camera imagen quality for the money. Photo, video, slow motion, hyper lapse and more. Used for fishing trips. I love this camera. I hope they are back in stock soon as I had to return the one that was defective.

So far, so good. I’ve shot a few days of skiing with the camera and it does really well with the “RockSteady” motion smoothing. The software is a bit cumbersome to edit videos (fade in/fade out types of effects are very difficult).
It does take a minute to figure out which format is compatible with your computer so be aware of that if you’re not doing any post-processing in software. For example, if you are plugging directly into a computer to upload the raw footage, it may be un-watchable if you don’t have the format set correctly. This is fairly easy to set, but you’re stuck if you have already shot the footage in the other formatting.
Overall battery life has been good, and the picture quality itself is really amazing compared to trying to shoot sports footage with a phone.
Camera quality is good, shots look good, but the software is a bit awkward so that’s why it’s 4 vs 5 stars.

At $199 this little camera is a fantastic deal. This is my first action camera and after hours of research I decided to go with a DJI over other reputable brands. I am so glad I did. The quality is phenomenal. It’s easy to use and it is competitively priced. I could have easilypurchased the new 4 instead but I decided to save some money and buy some accessories.

Took the DJI Osmo Action 3 out for a spin on the mountain biking trails, and it's earned its stripes in my gear lineup. This action camera is no joke when it comes to capturing the thrills of the ride, and it's definitely more than just a pretty lens.
The 4K video quality is spot-on. It doesn't just document the trail; it elevates the whole experience. From the crunch of leaves under the tires to the breeze through the trees, it brings the ride to life in stunning detail.
The dual-screen setup is surprisingly practical. The front-facing screen is a game-changer for framing those on-the-go shots, especially when you're focused on navigating tricky terrain. No more guesswork – just point and shoot.
Durability is where the Osmo Action 3 flexes its muscles. I had a little incident with a tree (don't ask), and the camera shrugged it off like it was just another day on the trail. Not a scratch, and it kept recording without a hiccup.
RockSteady stabilization is the unsung hero here. Even with the bumps and jumps, the footage stays impressively smooth. It's like having a steadicam for your handlebars.
The combo accessories are a nice touch, offering flexibility in mounting options. It's a subtle feature but makes a difference when you want to experiment with different angles without fuss.
Now, the menu system is a bit like a maze at first. It took me a moment to get the hang of it, but after a few rides, it became second nature. It's a minor speed bump, but once you're past it, smooth sailing.

Soo i was in search for a action camera for my trip to miami and i love the resolution and the front facing screen that the go pro 11 doesn’t have but thats not the reason i returned it.. i took it out at night one day and it just wouldn’t focus on my face! I couldn’t see my eyes i saw a review on YouTube and they said you can change the settings for night use but it was to late for me to try to move the settings i had already returned it and bought a hero 11 creator edition.. and theres things that hero 11 cant do and the action 3 can but thats a different topic do I recommend action 3 ? Yes its good for what your paying

I was a big GoPro user all the way to GoPro 9. After the 11 came out I was debating to get that or the DJI Action 3. I am happy I got the action 3. No problems, no freezing, no battery issues, no complications. I just love how this little camera works and I love the Raw images coming out of it. They are not oversharpened so it is a big plus for that. Video quality is good, it is a perfect little camera.

An excellent quality device like DJI has been accustomed to us, from its packaging to the product a delicacy in every aspect and above all in the product that is our primary objective, image quality, durability in construction and ease of operation from the update to navigating each menu and the shots, you have what you pay for prior adjustments to your convenience, place and light....

The quality is great, WHEN the camera works. We race dirt bikes and have tried every mounting position possible, multiple (Pricey) memory cards, replaced batteries, you name it. And the camera decides when it wants to record. We get parts of a race or nothing at all, then the next time will get the whole thing. The camera just shuts off mid race or sometimes before they even start on the line. If we didn't have this issue, we would give it a 5star because the quality is great but it is very disappointing more often than not.
