As per my new Phantom 3 as is the Propellers get broken when learning to fly but it came without the blade covers . Best Buy had them and they were easy to install.But the string (4feet) by going around all 4 guards and ties together with (1) knot ? string(3-4 feet long) brakes gets tangled in propellers ? Best tie a knot at each end of string keeping it together between the out sides of each of the (4) propellers guards ? And string is replaced fast when broken between knots without getting all tangled.? A must for anyone when learning to fly because it's hard keeping it in the sky as you will find out .

I crashed my DJi 3 Phantom and the guards saved me from having to buy more propellers or maybe more. They did not break and I was able to keep flying. Well worth the money.

This Prop Guard is very resistant but if you want to carry your Phantom on orignal DJI backpack, you will need to remove and reinstall it everytime. I recommend users to buy Digi-power model that have a clip-on system and it's easy to remove.

While these are very large and a bit bulky I think they have saved my bacon a few times so totally think these are worth the cost

Purchased these and thought they would just clip on, however that is not the case. You must use a screwdriver and with these in place the drone will not fit in the backpack for storage.

You don't need these if you are in a open space. Keep in mind if you have a case for your phantom series your unit won't fit in case if you have these installed. You have to unscrew the little screws at the bottom of the motor base housing each time you want to put it away

Not being easily detachable was a the only minus, and really if your a good pilot, they are unnecessary. Only get them if your truly a beginner or flying indoor a lot.

I would recommend every new user and really all users use prop guards. One accidental contact with a tree branch or building and your drone could be falling to the ground! With that said, if I had to do it over again, I would buy the quick release prop guards for the ease of putting your drone in a case.

These haven't never been mounted on my drone since I've purchased them. I have taken them out of the box and looked at the quality and watched a few YouTube videos with them being mounted and flown with and they seem very satisfactory. Some people claim these interfere with the smoothness of the flight of your drone because it sits in thr way of thr channeled air from your propellers. So keel that in mind. Otherwise, it looks to be a good product.

These work good but you have to screw them in to put on and when your done you have to screw them all off to put in a bag. It is very time consuming but if that's not a problem for you then get them.

Great thing to have to protect the drone from hitting things indoor. Cant be detached without tools. Not worth the 20 bucks

My standard went into safe mode and tried to fly through trees and wires well it dropped on the street from at least 40 ft the only damaged was 2 guards that exploded and 1 prop that's it nothing else.

I purchased these to help keep damage to a minimum on my Phantom 3 Pro. They mounted easily enough and seem secure. Two observations - they appear in frame if you're moving forward and recording, and with the guards in place you can't put the copter in the box or a carry case. I remove them after flying which is tedious - and I only use them when i'm flying near obstacles.

If you are just learning to fly these are a MUST. My husband was filming in a slightly wooded area and bumped into a tree. Not a hard bump but without the prop guards it would've been disastrous!

It's a really cool drone with superb image quality. The update process is a real paint, but once done it's all smooth sailing from there. I use it with an ipad mini and it's a great combo

Bought the propeller guards to save money on propellers. However, upon a ground landing the UAV tipped over causing a guard to flex just enough for a prop to hit it and break. The guard got a small crack but is still functional, for now. Thankfully it was only 1 prop that broke. Pretty sure it would have been way worse not having the propeller guards on.

The dji Prop guards are inexpensive, sturdy and lightweight. I recommend that you buy them and keep them on for your first several flights, especially if you''re fairly new to flying a quad-copter. They're a lot of work to install. You must remove 8 screws; 2 screws for each motor. You must carefully keep and store the 5mm screws that you remove. Then you must carefully install and tighten 8 10mm screws, which secure the guards to the copter. This is a routine that you simply cannot do on a regular basis. You'll either keep the guards on, or off. I kept my guards on long enough to become comfortable with my copter, and I'm glad I did. upon landing one time, I tried to shut the copter off with a 2-stick command. I must have done something wrong, because the copter went into reverse, and smashed into the sidewalk. The guards protected the blades perfectly. The guards probably add a bit of weight and windage to the copter, which would reduce battery life. The installed guards absolutely take up more room, so if you want to buy a case that accommodates the guards, you'll have to buy a larger case. I no longer use the guards on a regular basis, though I store them in the case in the event I may need them. I can think of a number of occasions where I'll want to use them; flying in and under tree branches, around people and pets, and any circumstance where I might bump into something. All said, I'm very glad I bought my guards, and they paid for themselves within the first few flights.

They do the job, but it takes a bit of time to install and remove them, which you need to do if you want to store the drone in a case

Item protects well, but will not allow drone to be carried in the hard backpack case without significant modification to the case. Also, no way to store guards easily. Would be nice to have an easier design IMHO.
