Best Buy Bellevue is the worst ever!! I would recommend the drone, but I'd drive to Everett Best Buy. Yes, all the way from Redmond.

    Excellent drone!

Started with just a cheap $89 dollar drone and was hooked. Quickly upgraded to this Phantom 3 standard. From unboxing to setting up (which only took about 15-20 minutes) everything went flawless. I did go to DJI.com to read the whole user manual to farmilerize myself with the unit the best I could. The quick guide that this comes with is just that. There is no comparison between this drone and the cheap ones. This thing is absolutely awesome and very easy to fly. For $500 you won't get a better drone. I bought the prop guards and would recommend if a beginner, well worth the protection. I am loving this thing!! Two thumbs up for me!! This drone does require registration with the FAA.

The Phantom 3 Standard is an excellent choice for someone wants to get into serious flight experiences. First of all it's super easy to fly this drone. It uses GPS to help guide it. You can mark a starting point and have it automatically return to that point. The flight app has a built-in flight simulator which I recommend you try at least once before your first flight. The camera isn't 4K but you won't miss that feature. It takes beautiful pics/videos as high as 1080p resolution. The gimble works well to stabilize your shots. The range of this thing is actually better than what the specs state. I've had this at about a mile away and just started to lose signal so I had it return home. The specs state it has a range of 0.6 of a mile but I believe that's just so you keep in within eyeshot. I accidentally flew into a tree on one of my first flights and this thing fell about 10' into a patch of brush. I didn't even break a blade and the camera assembly was still in perfect working condition. I only have 1 Hr and 44 minutes in 20 flights so far but I cannot find any cons with this device. The only negative part of this purchase was that the "free gift" from Shutterfly expired the day before I purchased this drone.

    Very limited range

This quadcopter is very useful if you only need limited range. I owned one for a day and promptly took it back that same day. I studied the manual for weeks and when I finally purchased it I methodically studied the manual that came with it to make sure everything was the same. It took a few hours to charge the battery for the quad and for the transmitter. The transmitter has to be charged by micro usb and it takes a long time if you only plug it in to your computer, I used my iphone cube and plugged the usb into that to speed up the process. When I finally got the quad in the air it handled nicely and I was amazed at the quality of the 3 axis gimbal and camera functions and controls. I was super dissapointed when I lost control signal at 394 feet away from me and 300 feet in the air with no obstructions whatsoever. Also the video feed on my phone was very choppy starting at about 50 feet out, and cut out to the point where it was hardly usable at about 300 feet. If you were to use this quad to take pictures of your house or any other use you can think of that is within 100 meters then it should work fine but I would highly recommend you spend the extra money to get the Phantom 3 Advanced or Professional as you will probably just end up buying one of those soon anyway once you get fed up with the limited range on the Phantom 3 Standard. I had to crop the included photo due to size restrictions but have included it as an example of photo quality.

A very stable copter, smooth fluid control fantastic pix,s. Easy to fly and master. Don't let the lack of crash avoidance scare you..look at it this way, what are you going to hit 100 feet off the ground. This is one kwel bird..and cheap, compared to the phantom 4. Both are very stable in flight but the 4 has an edge here, in short, when you are close to the ground the 4 uses its sight monitoring to lock in at where you are at. for instance, you want to land on a 2 foot round table..both can do it. But the 4 makes it just a tad easier. Outside of that, nothing you can,t handle with a little practice. If you are a first time flyer or have some experience. I suggest you get this standard one first.(It's a heck of a lot cheaper if u somehow crash it) Master it, then move on to the 4...you will really enjoy you first steps. Take ur time...whatever you do don't rush anything. Don't do stupid things and don't listen to anyone that is not a Pro at flying one. You really will enjoy this copter. P.S. I use the standard more than the advance and the phantom 4....it,s just a blast to fly! Enjoy! ^_^

Very easy to fly. Take the time to read the manual thorougly before flying. This thing will hover while you concentrate on perfecting your picture shoots or videos. Flies very stable. The battery time is in the range of 25 mins. You might want to buy extra batteries. Must have "toy"

I purchased this drone on December 16, 2015, I never flew other thing that kites in my life, but before I mess up with a $700+ toy, I purchase a little drone which cost me $38.40 (X5C) in order to learn how to fly and get some experience. I practice with the little one until one day the wind took it up and the little drone was gone. Then I purchase the Phantom 3 Standard, before I fly for first time, I spent 4 days reviewing videos, one and other time until I knew what to do. Then I have another problem, I was scare to fly, because I was not in the mud to lost a $700+ toy. I star on an open field (the cemetery) and I flew at 20 feets Just in case, then I got confidence and flew over 6 hours with more than 385K feets

    First drone

My wife actually bought this 1 year ago. It sat in the box for a whole year. I was actually worried it wouldnt charge when I finally took it out today. Pretty much flies itself. I was worried I would crash it, but it self corrects. Mind you I had it in tutorial mode (only allows maximum distance of 100 ft ,I believe in any direction before it beeps at you and tells you (actually speaks) it will adjust itself to return within range). Ive read horror stories about it freaking out and either flying off in a random direction without the pilot touching the controls and/or just continuing to fly past the range and not returning (after firmware update). Im not sure if mine has updated or how you update it or which firmware I even have... (theres a micro usb port on the drone itself, im assuming you have to connect it to your computer to update the firmware)? Im just glad it didnt do that, considering Ive read no reviews on this prior to flight, lol! Fingers crossed! I really cant say anything bad about it, considering its my first drone. 3 things I dislike about it. 1: battery life, went to 80% after 3 take offs and landings. Now I know it says 23mins max, but for a battery to cost 1/4 of the whole product... thats why I wasnt interested in it and thats why my wife bought it (because i didnt). 2: camera gimble is limp. At first take off, it adjusted itself, but second take off, i had to manually adjust it via app on phone. Ive only flown this today, just fooling around with it, sooo... I'll see if it does it again or if I'm missing something? 3: the controller. It seems oddly big/bulky for as light as it is. Could have used a better design to fit the hands more comfortably and some rubber grips. I feel like its going to slip out of my hands. Other than those minor flaws, its pretty cool. What was odd is that the app itself got terrible reviews, but i personally thought it was very well laid out as well as informing you with speech and tones. Besides starting off with a small inexpensive version first, I would recommend the Phantom 3 Standard for a great first (premium) drone! Im not a verified buyer because my wife bought it. It was in fact bought from Best Buy.

Purchased drone for my 17 year old son for Christmas. Have flown the drone in winter conditions 3 times. Battery life was as expected. Auto takeoff and landing worked like a charm. Lost communication between drone and controller during second flight and drone returned automatically based on GPS. Picture quality appears good. Drone flies well... Fast, good maneuverability and hovers in a stable position. The drone was easy to set up and learn to fly. So far we have a positive experience. Waiting for Best Buy to confirm my price match since BH Photo came out with better price.

Excellent, stable drone/quadcopter. Beautiful video, very easy to fly and almost impossible to crash without actually trying. If you can, spend the extra money and get the professional if you need or want 4k video, but if 1080p or 2.7k video is enough and you don't plan on flying indoors, this is the drone for you!

I purchased this drone after reading several reviews, doing some research and using my brother's, who had also purchased a Phantom 3 Standard. I had heard nightmares about setting up the firmware and doing updates. I have had no trouble at all on either count. The camera quality is good at 2.7 K and takes great pictures and videos. Flight time is about 30 minutes and sync time between phone, controller and drone is very quick. I have had a two minor crashes with this drone, and it has taken a licking but still works great. Range where I live in a rural area is about 1/2 mile. Very easy to fly and operate.

DjiDji phantom 3 standard. After hearing horror stories about learning to fly other drones then reading the reviews for this, I shelled out the extra bucks and so glad I did. After some initial issues with linking the app, I was up and flying on my first try. Controls like a dream! I had absolutely no problem from the first take off and i had never flown a drone of any kind before.I experienced little to no lag in video footage.

The phantom is less of a toy and more of a very capable machine. It’s all around a great intermediate level drone. It can actually create some anxiety when it’s flying high and far. Not a good toy for someone just starting out. It’s just too expensive to justify learning on. I know it is hard but try and get comfortable with a cheaper less capable drone before using this if new to the hobby. I bought this impulsively without any experience thinking I’d learn quickly and have the patience to. Easier said than done. I’m not prone to be anxious but definitely cannot enjoy it as much as I want because I’m being so cautious. It can be frustrating to learn with a machine that is almost too powerful for a beginner. It is a great investment for someone who is serious about being able to take some great aerial shots. Definitely take your time getting used to flying if you’ve never done this before and know that it is a powerful machine. Respect that and you should be fine.
