From Blu-Ray.com: The picture quality is terrific. The 2160p resolution brings about a drastic improvement over the studio's older Blu-ray. Here, the picture is perfectly filmic and holds to a steady, natural grain structure which is organic in density and brings a seriously pleasing cinematic feel to the proceedings. The picture's newfound textural richness brings Lee's Brooklyn to life with unflappable screen command. The absolute improvements to sharpness and clarity next to the aged Blu-ray are stunning, to say the least, and A-B comparisons of every scene reveal a monumental improvement. But even after just perusing the Blu-ray for a few minutes and turning over to watch the UHD renders any further comparison unnecessary. The UHD trounces it, plainly, in every way. This is a fine example of just how far UHD can elevate a picture. Street exteriors are a major source of fine texturing improvements for details on pavement, brick facades, and storefronts. Inside the pizzeria, there's no questioning the UHD's ability to reveal countertops, ovens, booths, and the pictures on the wall, which are collectively a vital plot device, with definition far beyond the Blu-ray's reach. Skin details are obviously a highlight, too, in intimate shots. It's a spectacular image and far and away superior to the Blu-ray. Lee and Cinematographer Ernest Dickerson shoot the film hot to help convey the very literal, and the very figurative, temperature in the movie. The film's contrast and color temperature are deliberately pushed hard and the HDR color grading only reinforces the dominance of warm yellows, hot oranges, and intense reds. Interiors are often exceedingly warm yet far more naturally so compared to the Blu-ray, which is comparatively lifeless. Tones across the board reflect the vital structural grading and HDR surely only amplifies the effect, though without fundamentally altering the movie's feel of any given tone's essential presentation. But there are major adds to color depth and brilliance. Blue skies, red brick walks, and all variety of flesh tones enjoy critical color adjustments that bring more life, authenticity, and visual reinforcement to the story. Black levels are terrific and even whites are excellent, though often rendered less than intense by effect in order to accentuate the larger color scheme; Mookie's white Jackie Robinson jersey is a great example. Universal's UHD is also free of any signs of print deterioration. There are no speckles or pops or stray lines or fibers. Compression is flawless, too, and there are absolutely no encode flubs to be found. This is UHD approaching its peak and fans of this film, and the cinematic medium in general, will be ecstatic with this presentation. It's sublime.

This movie will not arrive w/ a digital copy. After returning my copy only to recieve the blu-ray + DVD copy for a second time it was related to me via phone the blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy is not available. You will recieve sku # 9698099 instead. Yet the website still sells that specific edition that is not available. Must be a glitch. I hope this review saves you the trouble.

I bought these Polk T15 Speakers as a cheap replacement for my bedroom Stereo A/V system. I read very good things from the Reviews at BB and other places. Honestly, in the store I couldn't tell much difference between all of the Bookshelf Speakers lined up for Demo. When I got these home, what a difference!! The reviews were right! These Speakers are Great!! I'm hearing music with much more definition and clarity than my larger bookshelf speakers in our family room A/V system. It makes hearing every song a whole new experience, as I'm hearing music I didn't ever hear before! I'm not a huge Bass fan, but I do like to hear it in music. These little speakers deliver very good bass from their small package! They are way better than any speaker I've ever owned. I can't EVER see myself paying $250 or more for a pair of speakers, as these are much less $$ than any of the other "High End" speakers out there, and the others didn't sound any better to me. Being that I got them on sale for $65/pair (I guess they go on sale for $50/pair), I feel really good about this purchase. I will soon be buying another pair for my main family room system. I love music, but I never knew how much I was missing before getting these speakers!! While I think most times you get what you pay for, in this case you get a whole lot more!! Classic Spike Lee movie, still one of his best movies.

Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing remains a timely and stellar film, more than three decades after its release, and this disc is its best presentation to date. The 4K transfer is impeccable, to the point where the sweltering heat in Bed-Stuy practically radiates off the screen. The close-up of Mister Señor Love Daddy, the DJ played by Samuel L Jackson, in the opening scene shows just how flawless the picture is. The audio is likewise terrific, with Public Enemy's Fight the Power roaring out of the speakers. This is the definitive release of a modern classic.

Do the right Thing, classic Spike Lee. One of the perennial director's of his time. Need i say more. At the time of it's release, completely controversial, thought provoking, and subject matter still exists today. I know its been a while but pull out your dvd and press play. Take yourself back and see just how far you've progressed since then for good or bad. Or do feel the same way?. Either way, get the popcorn and become enlightened. Also this was a great buy for 4k.

This release was long overdue to be upgraded to 4K UHD! The film industry has really done Spike Lee dirty by not upgrading transfers for each of his films to 4K. Spike Lee is one of the greatest film directors of all time and deserves to be treated as such. If the film industry did the right thing, “Do the Right Thing” (1989) would not be the only film from his canon to get 4K treatment. Ideally, a box set of all of Spike Lee’s films on 4K UHD STEELBOOK would be the right thing to do. Word.

This is a classic movie by Spike Lee. It was great seeing some of today's Black actors when they were young and starting their careers. The cinematography is excellent. I know the feeling of a hot summer day, and it is captured in this movie. This is a great movie for the collection!

Just a fantastic movie hands down. Spike Lee really captured true life in this flick. Great soundtrack with music from Public Enemy throughout. Even though the film is 26 years old, the message still holds up today. And it even has predictions that are now a reality. Danny Aiello & John Turturro give fantastic & realistic performances. It's a Spike Lee Joint, and a must have for any movie lovers collection.

True story of race relations in 1980’s New York City brought to the screen by Spike Lee. This masterpiece should have been nominated for 1989 Best Picture in a year that “Driving Miss Daisy” won the award. Great video and audio on the 4k release.

Do The Right thing is a classic movie set during a hot summer day in New York and focused on race relations in the 1980s. The movie looks and sounds very good, and is well worth at least a rental. Whether the film is up one's alley depends on how interested they are in the subject matter, but everyone should see it at least once.

Classic film. Try not to make assumptions about worlds and circumstances not your own and, if this is not your wheelhouse, you might find yourself changed.

Do the Right Thing was recently released on Blu-ray by The Criterion Collection, but this UHD trumps that in nearly all areas!

This movie stood the test of time. Actors in their prime. Also in 4k. this is the best this movie will ever look.

Excellent movie. Funny and entertaining. Can't go wrong with 4k. Great deal as digital copy was included. Great for your collection. Great cast.

While auteur Spike Lee continues to make films that create conversations and stir up controversy it is Do The Right Thing to which he will always owe his legacy. While the blu-ray transfer looks pristine I was hoping for a few more special features that provided more insight into this classic. Either way, the film alone is still enough to own in the latest format.

This classic movie is for the first time in 4K. The colors are brighter and the experience is better.

The colors and visuals are vibrant in this movie definitely worth the upgrade from the Criterion Collection Blu-Ray.
