Ok, only a 100Mbs Network Port and only 1 Video out. You need to daisy chain with display port v1.2 and compliant monitors for dual screen. IE Dell U2414h series monitors. pricey for limited capabilities.

I really like having a docking station for my Surface Pro as it makes it even more useful to replace my previous laptop and desktop setup. I look at my Surface Pro as the ultimate in portable ultrabooks. The price of this is kind of high given the price of the average docking station is between 150.00 and 180.00 USD for both consumer and business laptop lines. This is a great buy if you need/want the docking station ease of use to hook it up easily to a TV.

This item is a must have for anyone who wants to use their Surface Pro as more than a tablet. I have replaced my work laptop with the Surface Pro 2, and the docking station makes that possible. The downside? All of the extra costs for Surface owners. The premium price you pay for the Surface Pro 2 is justified by its portability, but the lack of included "add-ons" gets a bit ridiculous when you have to pay $129 for a Type Cover 2, another $199 for a docking station, and then pay even more for things like Office (it's frustrating that the regular Surface has Office RT, but the Surface Pro just gets a 1 month trial for Office 365; they could have done more for the premium price). This is not an advanced piece of hardware - the price is way too high, especially in light of all the other accessories that are "must have."

I picked this up because I was worried about breaking any of the ports(usb, battery plug, etc). The docking station is perfect as I'm able to connect two external monitors with 3 usb ports still available for other connections! Plugging the Surface Pro 2 into the docking station is a breeze you can't screw it up. On a side note - I'm not sure what the other reviewer is saying about having to keep the type cover open, I duplicate one display and extend onto the other monitor with the type cover 2 closed.

I have been using the surface 2 Pro for work while on the road. When I would get home I would use my desktop to do work stuff. Problem is that I would have files and history on two different devices. This dock has enabled me to get home and dock up my surface. Now I have a large monitor and full size keyboard to work on spreadsheets that i normally would not use my surface for, The construction of the dock is great and has plenty of ports. It is expensive to get this setup up and going but it is completely worth it.

Good product addition for Surface tablet. Bought it at a great price, but only for use with Pro and Pro2. Really wish they would make one for the other models...would buy in a heart beat!!
