Okay, so now that I’ve had some time to play it, I’m reviewing DK Bananza. It’s actually really fun! The ability to smash things nonstop is awesome. The storyline at the moment is a bit weak, but I hope it improves as I progress through the game, since I’m still in the early “levels.” The controls take a little getting used to, as almost every button has a way of smashing things. It’s just a matter of direction in which you’re smashing. Overall, I’d give it a solid 8 out of 10.

This was one of the most fun platformers I have ever played. The movement and destructible environment make for a lot of fun even when you’re doing the main story missions

Donkey Kong bananza is a great Nintendo Switch 2 game. The graphics are great, and the gameplay is even better! If you liked Super Mario Odyssey this is an obvious must-have. Some say and feel it was better than Mario Odyssey. I however don't feel that is quite true. In their own ways both games are very similar in quality and Mario odyssey may be just a bit better. But if you enjoy a game that serves a good story AND an intense dopamine rush, this is the game to play.

This game is super fun, I love I can destroy anything. My only DK ganes before were the Country ones. I spent hours nonstop just breaking things. Plenty of post game content, can't wait to play the DLC soon

Such an entertaining game to play. There’s always something you can do, such as smashing everything in sight!! Super fun game to play. Nintendo does it again! Must have for your collection!

DK is back and it’s awesome. I finished the game with every collectible and enjoyed it from start to finish. The story is good, the music is amazing and so is the gameplay. My favorite Switch 2 game so far.

It was a great game that had me hooked on the game play, but the camera admittedly needs work. I’m usually someone that doesn’t experience motion sickness while playing games ever but when I first started playing this game, I can only play for about two hours before I started feeling very emotional sick adjusting some of the camera sensitivity and shake amount helped diminish this a little bit but in long sessions I still felt motion sick

The game is extremely fun. First time Donkey Kong has been in a 3d platforming adventure. The graphics are colorful and off the chartssss! I would skip the Paid DLC Nintendo want you to purchase since it is not very fun and doesn't really add anything to the core gameplay except some random challenges. You will have alot of fun with the core game itself. Some levels are easy but difficulty ramps up midway through the game.

Donkey Kong Bananza is everything I hoped a modern Donkey Kong game could be... and then some. From the first thump of the jungle drums to the last perfectly timed barrel launch, this game radiates confidence, charm, and pure fun.
The controls are buttery-smooth on the Switch 2, making DK’s weight and momentum feel powerful without ever feeling sluggish. Swinging, smashing, rolling, and chaining moves together feels incredibly natural. It’s one of those rare platformers where failure feels fair... and success feels earned.
Visually, Bananza is a love letter to Donkey Kong’s legacy with a modern glow-up. Lush environments burst with color and personality, character animations are expressive and hilarious, and the frame rate stays rock solid even when the screen is packed with action. The soundtrack absolutely slaps... classic DK vibes remixed with fresh energy that keeps you smiling the whole time.
Level design is where this game really shines. Each stage is packed with clever secrets, multiple paths, and rewarding exploration, encouraging you to play your way. Whether you’re a completionist hunting collectibles or someone who just wants to barrel through the main path, the game respects your style.
What really stands out is the sense of joy. This game doesn’t try to be edgy or overly complicated... it knows exactly what it is: a polished, confident, fun-first Donkey Kong adventure that’s accessible for newcomers and deeply satisfying for longtime fans.
Bottom line:
If you own a Switch 2, Donkey Kong Bananza is a must-play. It’s nostalgic without being stale, modern without losing its soul, and packed with the kind of playful magic Nintendo does best.

Donkey Kong Bonanza is an absolute blast from start to finish! Whether you’re a lifelong fan of the classic Donkey Kong series or brand new to the fun, this is pure entertainment at its best. Everything about it is vibrant, exciting, and full of energy. The atmosphere pulls you right in, the gameplay is smooth, and there’s a perfect balance of challenge and fun that keeps you hooked.
The attention to detail is phenomenal—every little moment feels crafted with care, and it’s clear the people behind this truly love what they’re doing. It’s nostalgic while still feeling fresh and modern, which is no easy task. I found myself smiling the whole time and didn’t want it to end.
If you’re looking for something that’s fun, engaging, and unforgettable, Donkey Kong Bonanza is it. Five stars all the way
Fun! Made by the same people who did Mario Odyssey

It is super fun to destroy everything. The game controls excellently, has a nice graphics and a fun story. This is made by the same team that did a Super Mario Odyssey, so if you like that game you would like this game!

Pretty much everything about the game was amazing. The graphics, gameplay, story, as well as the references to series history all made playing through an absolute blast. Only problem was a few frame drops here and there, but they were mostly intrusive.

Game of the Year. This game has no flaws. It's a very addictive game from start to finish. Probably the only games that costs what it does and is still worth full price.

After more than 20 years of waiting for a new 3D DK game, by the time you finish this one, you’ll be left wondering what took them so long. An incredibly addictive game that practically begs to be 100% completed, but is just as much fun for the speedrunners and those looking for a more casual playthrough as well. Consider picking it up for your kids, or treat yourself to one of the most inventive and creative games Nintendo’s ever put out.

Pretty easy game for 90% of the time. Few bosses that have some challenge. Some of the banana challenges are a little difficult. Pretty good story line. Music while using Bananza can get annoying. Over all highly recommend

So I almost never pay full price for games. I usually wait a year or two for them to drop in price, but I heard such good things about this game I decided to pick it up. As someone who has played every Mario and Donkey Kong game ever made, my expectations were pretty high for this one. Well it absolutely did not disappoint! This is a beautifully crafted game with an amazing use of a largely destructible world. It makes for an experience that can be best described as chaotic elegance. I got bogged down at first until I figured out I didn't actually have to destroy every single piece of destructible ground, wall and ceiling to get every single shiny item available. After that revelation I focused on exploring areas, reaching check points and moving toward the main objectives and had a ton of fun along the way!

I knew I wanted to play this game, but it exceeded all my expectations. This game is phenomenal and now my new favorite game. It just is absolutely perfect and beautiful in every way.

Donkey Kong Bananza is easily one of the most fun games on the Switch 2. Its biggest strength is total freedom: you don’t just move through levels, you destroy them and create your own path, making every playthrough feel different.
The gameplay is fast, creative, and extremely satisfying, with fresh mechanics and spectacular moments. Plus, the addition of Pauline adds a special touch to both the gameplay and the story.
While it has minor issues like camera control and low difficulty, they don’t take away from what matters most: it’s incredibly fun.
