Donkey Kong Bonanza delivers everything you’d ever want from a DK game and then some. The levels are creative, colorful, and full of that classic Donkey Kong charm. Every stage feels alive, and the mix of platforming, puzzles, and secrets keeps you hooked from start to finish. The controls feel smooth, the music is catchy, and the overall vibe is pure fun. Whether you’re a longtime Donkey Kong fan or brand new to the series, Bonanza hits that perfect balance between nostalgia and fresh gameplay. I had a smile on my face the entire time playing. If you want a game that’s full of energy, personality, and great design, Donkey Kong Bonanza is a must-play. Highly recommended!

Donkey Kong Bananza is everything I hoped a modern Donkey Kong game could be... and then some. From the first thump of the jungle drums to the last perfectly timed barrel launch, this game radiates confidence, charm, and pure fun. The controls are buttery-smooth on the Switch 2, making DK’s weight and momentum feel powerful without ever feeling sluggish. Swinging, smashing, rolling, and chaining moves together feels incredibly natural. It’s one of those rare platformers where failure feels fair... and success feels earned. Visually, Bananza is a love letter to Donkey Kong’s legacy with a modern glow-up. Lush environments burst with color and personality, character animations are expressive and hilarious, and the frame rate stays rock solid even when the screen is packed with action. The soundtrack absolutely slaps... classic DK vibes remixed with fresh energy that keeps you smiling the whole time. Level design is where this game really shines. Each stage is packed with clever secrets, multiple paths, and rewarding exploration, encouraging you to play your way. Whether you’re a completionist hunting collectibles or someone who just wants to barrel through the main path, the game respects your style. What really stands out is the sense of joy. This game doesn’t try to be edgy or overly complicated... it knows exactly what it is: a polished, confident, fun-first Donkey Kong adventure that’s accessible for newcomers and deeply satisfying for longtime fans. Bottom line: If you own a Switch 2, Donkey Kong Bananza is a must-play. It’s nostalgic without being stale, modern without losing its soul, and packed with the kind of playful magic Nintendo does best.

My son absolutely loved Donkey Kong Bonanza. From the moment he started playing, he was completely hooked. The game is colorful, exciting, and full of fun challenges that kept him entertained for hours. What stood out most was how engaging the gameplay is. The levels are creative and varied, and the difficulty feels balanced — challenging enough to keep things interesting, but not so hard that it becomes frustrating. He especially enjoyed the classic Donkey Kong-style action combined with new surprises throughout the game. The graphics are bright and lively, and the music adds so much energy to the experience. It really captures the fun spirit you’d expect from a Donkey Kong game. I also appreciated that it felt family-friendly and appropriate, while still being exciting and rewarding. Overall, Donkey Kong Bonanza has been a huge hit in our house. Seeing how much joy it brought my son makes it an easy recommendation for other families looking for a fun, engaging game.

This is the first 3D Donkey Kong game since DK 64 and the return to form can not be overstated. This game is not only a Donkey Kong game but also feels like a follow up to Mario Odyssey. The terrain destruction is super satisfying and the platforming balances easy exploration with the option to perform more advance techniques to add challenge. There are also numerous challenge levels which range from a quick easy combat section to what feels like an entire level from Donkey Kong Country games or Mario Galaxy. The only gripe I have with the game is that while the bosses are varied and fun they tend to be quite easy to beat in a short amount of time. This doesn't apply to near the end of the game where things ramp up quite a bit. Excellent game and just what the Switch 2 needed to keep up its momentum.

Donkey Kong Bananza completely surprised me in the best way possible. I went in expecting a fun platformer, but this game delivers way more than that. The levels are creative, fast paced, and full of little details that make replaying them genuinely fun. Every stage feels different, and the game constantly throws new ideas at you without ever slowing down. The controls are tight and responsive. Donkey Kong and the rest of the crew feel great to play and each character has their own style that changes how you approach the level. The movement is smooth on the Switch 2 and the upgraded hardware makes the animations look clean and colorful. It’s one of those games that just feels good the moment you pick it up. The music and sound design are also top tier. Classic jungle vibes mixed with new tracks make everything feel energetic and lively. Boss battles are a big highlight too. They’re challenging without being frustrating and always come with some fun twist. The game runs perfectly on the Switch 2. No frame drops, fast loading, and the visuals pop on both handheld and docked mode. The backgrounds are vibrant, the effects look great, and the whole game just has that polished Nintendo feel. Overall, this is one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played this year. It’s creative, polished, and packed with personality. If you like platformers or just want something fun that keeps you smiling the entire time, this one deserves a spot on your list. I genuinely think it’s game of the year material.

    Donkey Kong returns!

It had been a while since we last saw Donkey Kong in a brand new game. It's been slim pickings, with the recent entries being just ports of a Wii and a Wii-U game, and he hadn't had a 3D platforming game since since 1999! Well, not to worry, because Donkey Kong returns in a triumphant new adventure! This game is a blast to play! You play as Donkey Kong being accompanied by a young girl named Pauline, as they head to the planet's core to stop a brand new villain named Void Kong and his minions. Along the way, you explore sublayer after sublayer of what are truly some gigantic levels! The gameplay consists of smashing your way through enemies and obstacles, and some few very well placed bosses. I was skeptical of this game at first, with it looking very different from the typical Donkey Kong game, and wondering how it would perform on the Switch 2. Well, not to worry, because the game performs supremely well on the new console! There are a few framerate hitches here and there, as the screen gets truly filled with stuff during some bonus levels, but for the most part, the Switch 2 does incredible work with rendering the world of this very vibrant looking title. Best of all, ALMOST EVERYTHING is breakable in the game!!! That's right, you can break almost everything! This is the most impressive thing in the game by far - the fact that you can destroy almost every inch of the terrain if you really put your mind to it! This game is made by the same developer of Super Mario Odyssey, and you can tell they spared no expense in the detail they put into this finely tuned title. The destructibility of the environment is something that becomes very important, as it forces you to think creatively in order to overcome some of the obstacles in your way. And boy are there A LOT of things to collect in the game, as you fight your way past those obstacles. This game reinvigorates the collectathon genre, in a way I've rarely seen before. All of the old mainstays from the series are here, including Diddy Kong and Cranky, and Rambi, even if you don't play as them, and the new cast complements the series well. Pauline proves to be a more than suitable replacement for Diddy, with her having her own unique powers that you unlock stuff with throughout the game. The primary of these are the Bananza transformations she bestows on DK with her singing, which are great fun to play and are wild to see on screen! This is one of the best games Nintendo has produced recently. It is addictive, and you will struggle to put down the controller once you get really into the game, because of how much fun you're having. Along with Mario Kart World, this is easily one of the reasons to own a Nintendo Switch 2. It is a supremely crafted game, and one that the gaming industry needs more of - just pure fun from beginning to end, without the need for a massive overwhelming story or the combined budget of three Hollywood blockbusters. Here's hoping this spurs publishers to re-invest more in these types of games, and come out with pleasant surprises like a new Spyro or Banjo Kazooie game, or the holy grail, a new Ape Escape game. Astro Bot was already doing a tremendous job showing how incredible platformers can be, and Donkey Kong Bananza rolls the ball even further. Practically perfect in every way, with only a few very minor flaws to quibble over. Highly recommended!!!

A Massive Playground That’s Just Plain Fun

Donkey Bananza feels like stepping into a giant toy box where every corner invites you to experiment, explore, and cause a little harmless chaos. The worlds are vibrant and packed with secrets, and the core gameplay loop is incredibly satisfying. Smashing, bouncing, and platforming through each area never really gets old, and the sense of freedom makes it feel like a playground you don’t want to leave. What really stands out is how approachable and joyful the experience is. Whether you’re casually exploring or hunting for collectibles, the controls are responsive and the level design encourages creativity rather than punishing mistakes. It’s the kind of game you can pick up for a quick session and accidentally play for hours. The only downside shows up in the endgame. Once you start going for 100% completion, the objectives become noticeably repetitive. Collectible cleanup and late-game challenges start to blur together, which can make the final stretch feel more like a checklist than an adventure. Even with that, the overall experience is delightful. If you enjoy colorful platformers and open-ended levels that feel like one big playground, this game delivers a ton of fun. Just be prepared for some repetition if you’re aiming to complete absolutely everything.

Donkey Kong: Banana-nza is just flat-out fun. The levels are colorful, the controls feel smooth, and the music is ridiculously catchy. I found myself smiling the whole time. Some bosses are a bit repetitive and a few levels get frustratingly tough, but it never stopped me from wanting to keep playing. There’s so much charm packed into every stage, and plenty of secrets to go back and find. Honestly, it’s one of the best Donkey Kong games I’ve played in years. If you love platformers, this one’s absolutely worth it.

This game is goated. One of Nintendo's best. would recommend it to everyone. There's a lot of content in the game, so kids and adults would be engrossed in it for hours on end. I wish the game were a little harder, though, but it is a Nintendo game, so there's no surprise there.

Donkey Kong Banananza is a really fun game that I have been enjoying on my Nintendo Switch. The gameplay is simple to pick up but still offers plenty of strategy to keep it interesting. Collecting bananas, using power ups, and competing against other players makes every round exciting and unpredictable. The graphics are colorful and cheerful and the animations for Donkey Kong and the other characters are charming. Playing solo is fun but the multiplayer mode is where this game really shines. It is easy to jump in with friends or family and the matches are fast and entertaining. I also like that the game has a nice balance of luck and skill which makes it fun even if you are not a hardcore gamer. The controls feel intuitive and responsive on the Switch and the game runs smoothly. Pros: Fun multiplayer, colorful graphics, easy to learn, engaging gameplay Cons: Some matches feel very luck based but it does not take away from the fun

Safe to say this is the best (original) Switch 2 title as of today. Excellent level design & crazy fun gameplay, loads of great easter eggs to spot as well, this really does have a ton in common with Mario Odyssey given its studio also made Bananza. The boss fights may be a touch underwhelming, but an absolutely bananas final boss fight more than makes up for it in my opinion.

Awesome platformer that rewards you for doing things your own way, and not just following the directed route. Yes, there’s a lot of smashing in this game. No, it doesn’t get boring. The gameplay is fantastic. The graphics are gorgeous. The story is the best I’ve seen in a Nintendo game. Is it worth buying a Switch 2? Maybe not, but it was for me.

Donkey Kong bananza is a great Nintendo Switch 2 game. The graphics are great, and the gameplay is even better! If you liked Super Mario Odyssey this is an obvious must-have. Some say and feel it was better than Mario Odyssey. I however don't feel that is quite true. In their own ways both games are very similar in quality and Mario odyssey may be just a bit better. But if you enjoy a game that serves a good story AND an intense dopamine rush, this is the game to play.

The game is extremely fun. First time Donkey Kong has been in a 3d platforming adventure. The graphics are colorful and off the chartssss! I would skip the Paid DLC Nintendo want you to purchase since it is not very fun and doesn't really add anything to the core gameplay except some random challenges. You will have alot of fun with the core game itself. Some levels are easy but difficulty ramps up midway through the game.

Donkey Kong is back, baby! This is like a wif of fresh monkey breath! Solid game. Runs great. Looks great! finally after years since the well outdated donkey Kong 64 we have a all new 3D Donkey Kong using modern technology and gain playing mechanics, you would expect of a modern AAA title! It’s familiar enough that it fits in with other quality platforming titles, but has enough unique elements to make it something special. There’s definitely still some room for improvement in adding new gameplay mechanics in future releases, but there’s a lot to offer here and it’s a great game that you’ll have a lot of fun with. The ability to choose different pads to complete the level allows for those who want to master completing the level as fast as possible with a challenge, while allowing those that are just there to have fun and take their time to still have things to do, and have lots of fun!

This game is fantastic. Even for older audiences, this game scratches an itch that many others do not. The level destruction is unmatched, enabling you to destroy a level almost down to only fundamental buildings. The co-op mode is fantastic, if not a little easily abused. The game is just plain satisfyingly fun. It starts out fun, and manages to keep that energy for every second of its playthrough, with not a single dull moment. I normally hate "collect-a-thon" games but this game had me trying to find every single collectible in a level before I proceed to the next. I highly recommend this game to new gamers and veterans alike, on account of how easy it is to just pick it up and play, but also it's ability to make the somewhat simple gameplay very satisfying for those coordinated enough.
