If Nintendo can keep pushing out games like this, the Wii U may be able to get out of the slump. The game is beautiful. The art design with the colorful schemes down to the music. The music fits perfectly with the stage as you go. It can make you feel intense, cautious, or relaxed depending on the mood of the stage. The game play is a little heavier compared to other platformers so it will take a little getting used to. Warning: this game is hard and you WILL die a lot.

The new Donkey Kong Country :Tropical Freeze for the Wii U is totally awesome! It has a lot of great added bonuses that the old Donkey Kong games do not have. It is super fun to play and totally addicting. The controls are easy enough to handle for a child, yet the game is still challenging enough for an adult! My wife and I spent hours playing it and had a great time! Love the overall concept of the game and I am very happy with my purchase!

Donkey Kong has always been a difficult game and challenges the most intense gamers out there. With HD graphics and amazing 3D rendered backgrounds, this is one game not to miss. The difficulty is just like the originals on earlier systems, sometimes enough so that you have to take a break from frustration! Two player co-op works out well except for the barrel mini games since for some reason both of you have to be in the same barrel to work right.

I truly believe this game to be the greatest 2D platformer ever made. Truly a masterpiece deserving of your attention. I strongly recommend this game to any fan of 2D platformers.

This is a good game and it reminds of the Donkey Kong country games on SNES. My only complaint is that this game is rather difficult and I would consider myself a semi gamer, ie being able to pick up games quickly and not be terrible.Also, the multiplayer seems to be lacking, in that the first player HAS to be Donkey Kong and cannot be any other character while the second player can be anyone else. Maybe I am missing a setting to be able to play as someone else but I dont think so Bottom line, this is overall a good game so far but maybe not for younger kids as this game could be frustrating for them

If you played the Donkey Kong Country games on the SNES, you pretty much know what to expect from this game. It's the dame as those, but updated to HD, with real-time 3D graphics (not pre-rendered like on SNES). It's a fun game, definitely worth checking out.

Kong has always been a great game. Non violent, fast paced, exciting and challenging. The new courses (worlds) have great graphics with terrific music to go with it. Keeping the old idea of some courses like the track courses which are nail biting at times ,works well with newer water worlds. Switching angle views adds dimension and makes it all the more interesting and challenging. Bravo for a great new Kong! Long awaited!

This game is a lot of fun, and also decently challenging. The levels are pretty lengthy and offer a lot of variety. The boss battles are also a lot of fun. Player one is always Donkey Kong, but there are three different partner characters who all offer different advantages. I had a lot of fun playing co-op with my younger brother. Anyone with a Wii U, especially those who are platforming fans, should give it a shot.

Great to see the classic DKC formula with the power of Wii U behind it. A master class in platforming. The soundtrack is excellent! Not for those afraid to fail/fall.

This is a throw back with much much better graphics. I bought it for my god children and they love it. I also love watching them play just to get to see the scenery.

Really great game overall, was skeptical about it at first with some mixed reviews online I'd saw. It really is good, the graphics are the best I've seen on the Wii U so far and it controls as good as anything else. There are enough new enemies and maneuvers to keep it feeling fresh and lots of collectables to make you play it over. If you liked the last Donkey Kong Country game you should love this one.

This game is absolutely brutal! No matter how frustrated I get though, I still can't put it down. The music is stunning and the art is downright gorgeous.

I love this game and the franchise. I stay up late just to play the game. My kids and my wife think that I am crazy for doing this but this game is worth it.

Very enjoyable and it can get quite challenging. If you enjoyed Donkey Kong Country Returns on 3DS or Wii then there is no reason to not pick this one up.

The best part about this game is the background of the levels. Everything is so detailed and intricate. The game play is very much like the SNES DK games.

All our wii u games are for our young boys, the game looks great and has a classic feel but it is not easy, and there is no golden leaf like Mario, my boys get frustrated and stop playing

I play this game with my grandkids and we have a ball playing it! The different levels are fun and keeps you guessing as to what is going to come up next.

Who doesn't love donkey kong? Parents will love. It because of their childhood. Kids love it because it's been upgraded for the times. A lot of fun.
